I used to like this place. Today, walking in, the windows are filthy, they have some bolster stuffed between the door and restaurant that is discolored with age, grease and flies. The condiments on the table were sticky and the ketchup had something yellow ground into the ridges of the cap. The waitress, Rosa, was rude and off standing. She never once cracked a smile. Steady decline. I've been to this location and other outlets of this local chain many times over the years. Today was a huge disappointment. There was only one other table occupied when we were there, so the word must be out. The music coming from the open kitchen was so loud, we had to move tables. Our server didn't offer to turn down the volume, which would have been the appropriate thing to do. Food was prepared quickly after we ordered, but wasn't on par with my past experiences. My son's French Toast was blackened and he said it tasted like a burnt marshmallow. My omelette had way too much hollandaise sauce, and too little egg. My cup was kept full of the typical diner weak coffee. At nearly $12 for an omelette and $3 for a cup of coffee (online menu is inaccurate), my expectations are much higher. This place could be the reason sickness, illness, and COVID are running rampant. Beware of leaving here in worse health than when you arrived. Upon being sat at the table, we were met by our waitress, who wore her name around her neck. The greeting consisted of her coughing in her hand, and the disinfecting remedy was to just rub her fingers together and smile. The drinks she brought to our table were delivered with her same germ-ridden hand grasping them around the top of the glass where one's mouth would go. I refused to eat at that point, as I prefer what life has to offer by remaining in good health, but my group stated the green salsa was really good. It was like a spicy guacamole. Another member had the patty melt and enjoyed that. The fries were prepared well also. The French toast was the least favorite- minimal batter, lack of flavor, and resembled slices of plain bread placed on one's plate. The coffee pots are carried at an arm's length, fully extended in the downward direction, so any kicked up debris from one's shoe may provide you that extra "fiber" your diet doesn't need. I would caution against not choosing one's own takeout container if you have left overs. The containers are stacked with the opening facing down, and they sit on the very bottom shelf just above the floor. Anyone walking by, splashing anything, mopping anything, a foreign unwelcome matter is definitely going to be accompanying one's questionably sanitary food home. Rather than a defending response, I would encourage the owners who are focused on bragging about their impeccable golf games to transfer their similar level of focus to the health and safety of the patrons who risk their well-being every time they enter your doors. All employees were walking around like this carefree behavior is the standard. Well if you want a hot meal here, this is not the place to come. I ordered the huevos rancheros, and a side of bacon. The huevos rancheros showed up lukewarm, and the bacon was Stone Cold. I bit into it and I can say honestly that cold greasy bacon is not high on my list of things I want to have in my mouth. When I asked a waitress could I get some new, hot bacon she looked at me bewildered, and said this is how we serve it here. So, $22.00 for a cup of coffee, an OJ, lukewarm huevos rancheros and cold bacon. Oh yeah, I forgot they took off the bacon because I insisted on it. They don't charge you any extra for the greasy sensation in your mouth. That's pretty nice of them I guess. In this market, at the prices that restaurants are charging, these half ass products, and absentee servers - I never saw my server but three times, and had to ask a passing busboy for my OJ, she appeared 15 minutes later I said, "oh you have your orange juice". First of all, the only way this chain of America would lose a star is it's humble ambiance. Feels like a small town breakfast diner. The kind you look forward to when you go up north to your family cabin, or the hole in the eagle joint you find when traveling on the road. But this place is the real deal. The food is made with love and heart, and the service matches. It's beautiful, humble, and doesn't have pompous fluff. Pick a dish, it's gonna satisfy. Maybe their orange juice could be better. But the prices are all fair. The coffee is great, and you never leave disappointed. For 11 bucks I get a bacon avocado verde benedict. The beauty that is that dish, would easily cost 20 at any sleazeball "fancy" place that charges six dollars for a cheap screwdriver. Got there about 10:30 and about half the tables and booths were occupied. The counter was empty, so there I sat. Staff was friendly and prompt. Menu is breakfast and lunch only. Lots of comfort food items. They have 7 different Eggs Benedict varieties. Went with the Green Chili Benedict with Carnitas and hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were pretty standard, but the Bennie was outstanding! Next time I am in the west metro in the morning, I will make sure to stop back. The parking lot is used for all the stores within that strip so finding parking isn't hard at all. When we walked into the restaurant it wasn't packed but it definitely had a good number of people there. I always get the recommended food items when I got to a place for the first time so I got the Huevos Rancheros Carnitas and my boyfriend got the Huevos Rancheros Con Papas Favorito with a side of bacon. Came here for the first time this morning and had the eggs bacon avocados and it was delicious. Loved the heat on the verde. The potatoes were perfectly cooked, nice crisp on the outside, soft and tender on the inside. As a long time diner at the New Hope location, I was looking forward to this morning's breakfast. I was more than disappointed. I left there angry and feeling like the customers didn't matter. When we arrived and were sat, the music from the kitchen was so loud that the radio was distorted and sounded harsh. I asked if it could be turned down and the server told me, "we like to have fun". But we love the food so much, I decided to stick it out. Then when the food arrived, someone in the kitchen, starving for attention, and apparently in the throes of a fit of ADHD, starts banging to the best with the kitchen utensils and begins carrying on on what I can only guess was singing. It was extremely obnoxious to the point of ruining my meal. The wait staff in New Hope are chatty and friendly. But in BP, they were subdued and somber. This obnoxious person in the kitchen overbearing any chance for conversation, either with my server or my wife. As usual, the food was lovely and my server was attentive. But nonetheless, we will not be returning to this location ever again. read more
