The Fatburger in Issaquah is always my favorite and my son's as well. So when we saw the Fatburger in Redmond, we decided to stop for lunch. The place is smaller, older and darker than the Issaquah store. Half of the seats do not have window so it's kind of dark. They also don't have the new fancy soda machine in Issaquah store. The staff is as friendly as the Issaquah store, though. They take order fast and accurate. I want to try something new, so I ordered the mushroom burger instead of usual BBQ burger. My wife got her favorite Philly burger and small fatburger for my kid. The food is great, juicy and tender, as other Fatburger stores. I bite into two tiny pieces if bones, which never happened before in Issaquah store. I wonder if they're using patty from different providers. And for the mushroom burger, it's delicious but I probably won't order it again. With only mushroom, cheese and patty, it feels smaller comparing with the BBQ burger I usually order. The later one has lettuce, tomato, onion ring, patty and bacon and much more satisfying. Both cost $5.99 so the choice is obvious. New junk food fix found @ Fatburger! So much credit to them for adding the Impossible Burger, and even more for making sure that it can be prepared for vegans. The patty is cooked on a separate grill. White bun has no animal products in it. Lots of toppings to choose from (and might I suggest the jalapenos!?) The room was hotter than the food, almost, or at least it seemed that way. We ate at Fatburger last Friday night, you know, when some parts of Seattle were claiming to have hit 101 degrees. It was 99 degrees inside Fatburger, where the air conditioning was broken. It was surreal. The cheeseburger and fries were good but there wasn't enough ice in the world to cool my drink. I don't even remember the meal, I just remember the sensation of realizing that it was a few degrees cooler sitting down than it was standing up... kinda made me want to stop, drop and roll. I don't know why we didn't just leave, but we were really hungry. We stopped into Ruby's later that evening for a beverage and discovered that their a/c was broken too and it was also hot as hell in there. What's up with that? Do we get all the factory-irregular air conditioning units here when the good ones are shipped to California? The gals at Fatburger were trying so hard to be nice but it was just too hot to be anything other than courteous. Friendly was just out of the question, and I don't blame them one bit. Also, I was absolutely willing to forgive them their cups of ice water and/or soda at their workstations. Stopped in for lunch with a friend. I'd bought a Groupon for the place since it was close to work and I figured it'd be a good opportunity to try it on the cheap and see if it's worth coming back to when I'm craving a good burger and don't want to pay $10+ for one at Red Robin. Good thing I bought that Groupon, because I would have been so disappointed had I paid full price. Two stars for the build-a-burger concept and all the options - the different beef sizes and patty options, for having both steak and skinny fries, etc. You'd be able to really have it your way here. Or so you'd think. My friend and I ordered two burgers of the same size, but with various toppings, and when they arrived, the toppings were mixed between the two burgers so we couldn't even tell which burger was whose. I'm still trying to figure out how they managed to screw up so badly. It was like whoever made the burgers looked at the ticket and slapped this topping here and this topping there with no discernible pattern. We had to do a bit of swapping and rearranging and even then couldn't quite get the burgers right. And, unfortunately, the layout makes it near impossible to let the kitchen know they made a mistake since there isn't actual table service and we would have had to stand in line all over again. The burgers themselves were just okay. Mine was sloppy to the point of falling apart, had one tiny strip of bacon and one sad tomato slice. Kidd Valley is way better - and cheaper! We paid $19 for two burgers and two sides of fries. It was a worthwhile experiment, but I won't be back. read more

My kids and I come to this Fatburger about once every 6-8 weeks. It's not good enough to come more frequently, and it's not bad enough to stop coming altogether. It's just.....okay. Take tonight, for example. I had a Groupon so in we came for dinner. I ordered one of their "gourmet" burgers - the Barbeque Burger. It's supposed to come with a lot of barbeque sauce and two onion rings inside, among other things. But my burger had, at most, a smidgen of sauce (it was quite dry and had no barbeque sauce that I could see, when I disassembled the burger), and no onion rings. It looked absolutely nothing like the photo on the wall. Our side onion rings were good, albeit a tad greasy. My kids' burgers were good but their blackberry milkshake was very bland and had ZERO blackberry taste at all. And it was small and cost nearly $4! The service was decent and the restaurant was clean, but the women's bathroom was a mess, with paper towels all over the floor. (I can't stand dirty bathrooms!). Will we return? Sure - but probably only when the next Groupon for Fatburger is available. read more

Don't tell my trainer, but I went to Fatburger today for lunch. Big mistake. They're under new management and the new staff has no idea how to A) cook a burger, B) cook onion rings or, C) keep a clean restaurant. I came in and were no clean tables. Many tables were covered with un-bussed dishes and those "cleared" had not been wiped down. I ordered my usual burger and "frings" (fries and onion rings). The girl with blue hair at the register seemed disinterested in my order and while not rude, she was just short of it. The food eventually came out, but the rings were not cooked, and the burger was just strange. I think I know why--the girl at the fryer kept taking the rings out over and over again. They never really got up to temperature inside--just overdone on the outside. No, this used to be a friendly place with management that genuinely cared. He barked at me before I walked in as i was putting on my mask then he turned on my kid about his mask not covering his nose (his glasses were fogging up) But, the gentleman was not wearing his mask correctly. If you didn't already know today is the start of Lent. So I thought it was a good day to try Fatburger. Not a religious dig, I just expected there would be less of a crowd today as people abstain from eating meat. Though by the looks of it, the place was fairly busy. The ordering menu is thankfully less complicated than the one found at Five Guys Burgers which Fatburger somewhat resembles at least pricewise. However, Fatburger offers gourmet burger selections which Five Guys does not since it is more of a build your own burger type place. So perhaps think of Fatburger as the midlevel restaurant between McDonald's and Red Robin. I was pleased that they offered many burger options here. This includes burgers of all sizes, meats and toppings. I ended up getting the California burger ($4.99) and a side order of onion rings ($2.79) The burger consists of a 1/3 lb. patty with guacamole and bacon among the ingredients. It was prepared fairly quickly which was good. But perhaps it could have been on the grill for a little bit longer for more char flavor. It could also used a little bit more seasoning, perhaps some pepper or salt. The guacamole seemed to counteract the flavor of the burger. Perhaps using avocado slices may have been a little bit better instead. The onion rings were very good. Usually you get the frozen variety type rings, but these look to be somewhat different and it goes really well with ranch dressing. Fatburger is a decent burger joint. Though three stars seems to pretty fair for this place. The burgers are not the best in flavor, but very filling and the place has nice atmosphere. For Redmond, I think Fatburger is the best option if you are in the mood for burgers. read more

Sooo, I bought a Groupon a few weeks back for Fat Burger so we went to use it. We went tonight and I left pretty disappointed. The service was good, and the food wasn't bad but it was very, very bland. I got the veggie burger, onion rings, and a milkshake and my boyfriend got the XXL burger and thick fries. We both thought the food just lacked flavor. The price was okay. The food was really filling and our total was $25 (-$21 groupon) for 2 drinks, 2 burgers, and fries and onion rings. This wasn't a TON of money, but it's little pricy for what I'd call fast food. You don't have to throw your own trash away but it's fast food quality. We have been coming to Fatburger for years. The employees are all very friendly and engaging. The food is very good and always just how we ordered it. My review is a bit mixed as the last time we were there, we witnessed the owner Bob berating several of the hard-working employees seemingly for no real reason but to be mean. It's quite rare that you come across a restaurant that's all about self-deprecating humor. Fatburger is one of those restaurants that doesn't even try to hide the fact that their food is, well, fattening. Rather, they proudly embrace it, and this is evident with all the posters talking about large amounts of food along the walls. And I love it! More restaurants need to realize that generally, the more food they place in front of their customers, the better. I decided to stop by this place for lunch after I had heard about their limited-time deal wherein you can replace the drink of a combo of $6.49 or higher with a beer. Hamburgers and beer? They were right; some things just belong together. Ladies, take note: the way to a man's heart is through hamburgers and beer. I ordered the large signature Fatburger combo with fries and a bottle of beer of my choice for $9.49. An additional bacon and cheddar cost 99 cents more, and the total after tax came to $11.48. That's generally quite high for a burger, but there's a beer thrown in there! It should also be enough; I find it amusing that the sizes of their burgers go up to XXXL. You'll never need that much! Service was friendly and quick. The beer didn't come with a wait, but the burger didn't take very long at all to make. They gave me a number as I waited, but there doesn't seem to be much point to it as they were ready after such a short time. Before I knew it, in front of me was a huge, partially-wrapped burger on top of a tray with French fries. And a little mint to the side. And a beer; can't forget about that! With a burger of this size, it's obvious that it's the kind that you can't easily put into your mouth without making a huge mess. You might have to take small bites that don't include both buns, but that's okay because the burger is pretty good. Every bite is juicy and exploding with flavor. That's not what you normally associate with burgers, but it's what you get here. This is the kind of burger that McDonald's wishes they could make. It's wrapped with paper on one side to kind of keep it together, so you don't have to worry too much about it falling apart, and you can just peel back the paper as you eat (I'm not sure whether the analogy of the banana works here, but you can think of it that way if it's helpful). The fries here are interesting because they are so consistent in quality despite how numerous they are. All of them look and taste the same. They are all a light yellow; none of them are overcooked or oversalted. That seems to be a rare occurrence with fries. Best part is that they're not even what Fatburger is known for, so you don't have to pay outrageous prices for them if you have them included in a combo. It's all a lot of food, and I honestly wasn't expecting to be able to finish all of it in one sitting. I had to take the beer home with me... hehe. I guess if you're somehow a bigger eater than me, Fatburger still has something on their menu for you. But XXXL is seriously insane. Anyway, when I tried to bus my own table, they told me to just leave it there. Isn't that nice of them? This is quite an enjoyable restaurant, but I probably wouldn't recommend coming here on a regular basis. You know how it is with hamburgers. read more

Went to try new wings. I was given a dirty cup and requested a new one. After going through two more the cashier found a clean one with no acknowledgment that was poor experience. Dirty dish towel and bucket sat unmoved on counter the entire time we were there. Same for broom and dustpan up against wall despite floor being filthy. Wings were mediocre at best. Shake cane in half filled metal cup. Most places put shake in glass and provide metal mixing cup as extra. We won't be back. read more

I'd probably give this a better review because the burgers are tasty and the sweet potato fries were yummy, but they did something pretty silly so I have to ding them somewhere. My husband went through the drive thru and ordered a 1,000 Island cheeseburger only tomatoes for me, meaning he didn't want the onions, pickles, mayo, lettuce, and mustard that also usually come on the burgers. But they gave him a plain hamburger only tomatoes. Why would you order a "1,000 Island cheeseburger" if you wanted a "plain hamburger with tomatoes"? You wouldn't and he didn't, yet that's what they gave him. As I really can't say anything more without just being rude about the thought process (or lack thereof) of the employee, I'll stop there and simply ask a manager to point this out to whomever was working the window on Friday evening. read more

Was extremely impressed with this burger joint. Even ordering through Uber it still tasted almost as fresh as if I had gotten it directly at the restaurant and ate it right away. I ordered the 1/3 pound burger, the meat was just the right amount and seasoned well, the cheddar cheese on it was delicious, the lettuce and pickles were fresh and topped it off. Redmond Fatburger should just close. I'm sick and tired of their inability or unwillingness to give me what I order. I despise how they insist on putting extra chicken patties, in a fricking paper box no less, on TOP of other items like onion rings - resulting in the lake of grease and meat drippings soaking through the box and running into the onion rings (even if I order the rings as a second flaming order!!!) And where on earth did they take the version of the food handler's test that said storing cheese in a metal tub in the drip tray of the grill was okay? How about having everyone be at least fluent in Engish, even if they learned it ESL? How about having them not give me the stink-eye for wanting changes to my order? The "standard" failures they share with everybody else? They usually have nasty, rusty produce. They don't keep the chicken off the beef grill for some bizarre reason (they have two grills but make sure to always rub the chicken around on the beef side before finally removing it from the grill.) They don't get the simplest things like 'cold and hot separate' or 'your dripping wet meat patties sog the buns out almost *INSTANTLY*, even if I eat on-site - now imagine what those would be like for take-out? Now imagine my frustration with trying to find any technique or trick that would get these people to "give me the meat by itself so it isn't part of a mass of bun-goo!". Because I wish well for everyone, the best outcome I can believe for this place is that they close and the staff get jobs where they can't just sling whatever crap they wish and call it good. read more

This was my first time ever having Fatburger. I was a bit hesitant based on the reviews but I wanted something kinda quick and with milkshakes. When I walked in I saw evidence of probably the biggest complaint... a handful of tables weren't bussed and those that were may not have been wiped down. I prefer my restaurants to be especially clean but I looked past it. The person taking our order wasn't overly pleasant, nor was she rude - just rather matter of fact - but she got our orders right and that's what I really care about. I had an Oreo shake and it came out first. It was quite tasty and a nice start, and eventually finish, to the meal. Burgers came out and were tasty. There's a magic combo when you put mustard and relish together that I love. The meat had a nice grilled flavor and the veggies seemed fresh. The skinny fries were ok. Some people seem to love them but I'd probably try the fat ones next time. Onion rings were a bit lacking. The breading was thin and fell off easy. I'm not sure if these are fresh breaded or frozen but they could use some help. I did appreciate that they came with ranch. Overall we were satisfied and would come back, but probably for lunch. As a general rule, I prefer my burgers with a cold draft beer. I do appreciate that there are a handful of can options, and even some canned wines. read more

Zach, do you remember our trip to Fatburger? Fat Tuesday enticed us. After having Emily make that beef stew, we certainly were craving some actual beef. (What kind of beef stew has no beef in it anyway, Zach?) While Fatburger isn't bad, it isn't the best. Compared to some other offerings in the Seattle area, Fatburger sits in the middle. I really enjoyed Red Mill, and Five Guys worked pretty well for us, didn't it Zach? Fatburger reminds me a bit of In-n-Out - the infamous California chain. I like to think that In-n-Out is Fatburger 2.0, in many ways. Zach, why do you let me get sidetracked? The food is a-ok. But it can be a bit pricey, just like their competitors. There's no shame in praising bang for your buck, even on our salary, Zach. I can't claim it here as much as I can for those other burger establishments. Four stars for Fat Tuesday and Nutter Butter milkshakes. Three stars max the rest of the time. Unlike the downtown Bellevue location, where if the manager rings you up he NEVER remembers it's Fat Tuesday [it's happened every. single. time. he's rung me up, even though I specify "I want the Fat Tuesday special sized burger..."] the staff here is on top of things and I never end up with some ridiculously overpriced bill for my burger... It still runs me $6+ including tip [I add cheese, bacon and an egg] but that's a price much easier to swallow than the $7.50 it'd be any other day of the week. I generally order my burgers sans bun, which I feel bad for because it's probably more work for the staff -- but with bun, the medium burgers are too big to eat comfortably and I have a really tough time cutting myself off. The burgers aren't particularly special or fancy, but they're salty and greasy and temporarily sate my incessant burger cravings, which is good enough for me. read more

I was contacted by the owner after I posted this review. She was eager to rectify the situation. I took her offer of a free meal to make up for the experience I had at the Redmond location. This time I went to the Issaquah location which is where I first had and fell I love with Fatburger. I got a salad which was good, a Fatburger (excellent) and the Srirrach bone-in wings which were good as well. The Issaquah location has been there longer and it shows. They are way more professional. I had driven by this Fat Burger for the last year and wanted to stop for a bite, but always turned in another direction. Finally stopped for lunch one day during the recent heat wave. I had just gotten my 16 yo nephew from the airport and he was wanting a burger for lunch. He got a king burger and wow was it king size! I had a turkey burger and some onion rings. Everything was delish. Food was good, price was reasonable given the portions. Only drawback - while they claim the inside is air conditioned, there was sweat dripping off the walls this day and the staff looked ready to faint from the heat inside the building. We sat outside in the semi-shade and it was much cooler than inside. To be fair - not sure it was cool anywhere that day, but will avoid stoppping here in the heat. Two thumbs up! read more

Is it just me, or do Fatburger burgers taste like.... meatloaf? There is something about the taste of meatloaf that doesn't quite excite me. Whether it's because it reminds me of my moms home cooking, or what, but it was nothing short of mediocre. I sure did enjoy watching the cooks make the burger though! Maybe that's what gave me such high expectations regarding taste. Maybe I need to give Fatburger another chance, but it seems like I have the same experience each and every time I go back. Maybe a change of their recipe would do the trick? All in all, Fatburger is quite expensive for a greasy and juicy, large and in charge burger, that isn't top notch when it comes to taste. This one and the Issaquah Fat Burger are better than the one Bellevue. The one Bellevue needs new management or something because they are just terrible. The burgers are ok you have to get them to not add the salt otherwise they are overkill on salt. The fries are pretty good...steak fries (fat fries) are better. Overall decent place. I wish I would have used the restroom before ordering, not after my meal. The restroom was VERY dirty and unkept which is not what you want to see in a dining establishment. The food was decent, over priced, but still better then other options in the area. I did notice the large CRT Monitors in the food cooking area had dust building up on them, also something you dont want to see when it is directly above the preparation area. Service was good. The owners just need to spend a little more time on bathroom cleaning and getting rid of the eye sore CRT mointors with flat screens that will collect less dust and have less clutter above a very important area in the store. read more

First off, I am from Los Angeles, the birthplace of Fatburger and am a huge fan. The issue I have with this particular Fatburger has nothing to do with the food, but rather the service. I went there twice during a week long trip to Redmond, and both times, I encountered a sad little woman behind the cash register. She acted like her dog died, or she just didn't want to be there. The first time I ordered the Fat Tuesday special and said to add cheese. I literally got meat, and cheese only on a bun. Ok- would it be so hard to confirm with me that I wanted to skip all normal toppings (which I certainly didn't) before handing me a weak looking burger? When I apologized for misordering, and asked for lettuce, tomato etc. to be added, I got an eye roll and a huff & puff. The second time I came back, I got more of the same. I brought my wife with me and she even commented that when they brought the food to our table, they more or less slid it to us with not a peep added (eg "enjoy your meal" etc). I'll still go here, as I do enjoy the burgers a lot. I can only hope that they figure out that customers are important and they have options. read more

Came here for dinner and a bit disappointed. We ordered quickly and got our food to go. Service was nice and friendly and the food came out in a good time. The place was clean and organized. My disappointment comes from my burger. I usually am very happy with the burgers here and it's out go to place for a great burger. But I ordered a lettuce wrapped burger but there was nothing "wrapped" about it. It was messily put together and the lettuce was literally one lead one each side of my burger patty and accoutrements and that's it. The picture showed a neatly wrapped in I'm assuming iceberg lettuce and this was far from it. I ended up wearing more of the burger than eating it. Lesson learned here. No lettuce wraps every again. Side note, my husband ordered onion rings and they were under done. We would be happy to wait a little longer for better presented food at the price we are paying. We will be back but maybe stick to buns and fries for now. read more

This place is for EATING. Get a Kingburger. Throw on cheese and bacon and the thing's like 30,000 calories. And worth all of them. You get your choice of fat or skinny fries, you can get an amazingly good milkshake, or stick with soda. You can eat inside or out. But these choices are unimportant. The choices that matter here are what you get on your fat burger. This place is like death row for your diet; waiting in the (usually) short line to recieve a fatal dose of ground red meat (or I guess you could get the chicken thing, but why bother with that?) you should say a little prayer that your soul is properly delivered upon your untimely demise. It isn't just the caloric or fat content that might kill you here. There's also the shock of what a real hamburger tastes like. Some people only know fast food, and haven't had a real cooked to order burger. All I ask of you is that you come here if you're in any way carnivorous. You won't regret it. read more

Today was my first time eating at a Fatburger. It was awesome! You can tell the burgers are fresh not frozen. I ordered the small burger with cheese. You have to search for the small size on the menu but it's there below the medium and large. It's the perfect size. One reviewer said the prices were the same as Red Robin. I have to disagree, our meal was under $20 and we never make it out of Red Robin for less than that. Another reviewer commented that the fries had no seasoning. I am a day one fan of Fat burger, used to go to the one in downtown bellevue back in high school for fat tuesdays. Arguably compete on the same level as five guys. Just thinking of a fat burger I'm going to have to go get one. Somebody needs to bring back a Fatburger to bellevue. Would bring in tons of business, that and a dicks.
