Crooks? Incompetence? What's going on Fatburger? True story: I placed an ONLINE order 12/31/25 (New Year's Eve) for the big game (College football championship) and upon driving all the way to the restaurant, turns out they were closed--yet the transaction went through. It aid they were open online and all that. I called the next day and the girl on the phone said to give the refund 3-5 days. I waited about week, still nothing. Called back, different person answered [Missy?], she was a better communicator, more thorough, etc. and she said she would contact their manager and he [Bobby] would call me back. For some reason only their manager could issue refunds lmao. No call for about a week, this is when I knew Fatburger was either stuck in 1947 or up to no good. Why in 2026 does a customer need to wait on a call-back about a refund for some food that was never even made and given? OH BOY. I decided to contact send Fatburger's main franchisor website a contact form submission twice to get somebody's attention and lo-and-behold, the next day I get a call from their manager Bobby. He told me give it 5-7 days. It's laughable at this point. No refund still, so out the blue I decided to call 10+ days after and he answers and says he's no longer at the company. I usually don't give negative reviews but I wanted to put this out there to document my experience with Fatburger, as they may not last long because something is up. They don't want financials in writing--which usually signals fraud--but I digress. As of 02/13/26, still no refund. A simple online search shows this is a pattern across several independent franchises. Upon entering on a slow Friday evening, the atmosphere is very laid back, the employees were friendly and welcomed us in. The mural of San Antonio cultura is made aware by Fatburger and I really like how the wall is painted. Now let's rate the food, I ordered the Original Fatburger since I had no idea the thickness of the patties and fat fries because come on a juicy crisp burger deserves thick fries to compliment it! The burger ordered how I like it, was cooked made to order, full of flavor and the cheese melted right on top it will certainly keep me coming back for more and the fries were evening cooked and crispy dipped ketchup ole school way and I had one of the best burger meals in the city! Service was average. There's nothing to brag about. Ambiance is laid back. I wanted to try this place w/ my kids. I got three hamburger combo w/ medium drink and skinny fries. The burger was ok. The bun was dry. The fries didn't seem too fresh. Their lemonade was delicious. Their strawberry watermelon was leaking and was making a puddle on the floor. I finally tried the first Fatburger location in San Antonio. The restaurant was nice, clean had a SA mural on the wall. The staff were very friendly and nice. The menu has lots of options and sizes to select from. We had the XXL burger combo. It has 2 patties and a pound of meat. Also had fat and skinny fries and a shake. The food was good. Not the best burger but still very good. Fresh topping and made to order for sure. My biggest gripe is the price at Fatburger. I spent 50 bucks on 2 combos and a milk shake. At that price point I don't think I will be going back ... Good job to the staff and the cook but to expensive for me. read more

When you walk in, everyone yells "welcome to farburger" which is so funny to me when stores do that kind of thing. The service was kind and patient as we figured out what we wanted during our first visit. He explained the menu and their different types of fries. We got two burgers and some wings along with a milkshake. The burgers were okay, but slightly bland and very messy/ greasy. The wings, however, were delicious! I'm really picky about my milkshakes so they were good, but not my favorite place to get one. We haven't returned yet, but we definitely will be back for more wings! read more

I have been waiting for this place to open and boy did they make me happy today. Staff was super excited and full of energy. One guy came to our table 4 times to check on us. It's a fairly decent sized place with about 25 -35 seats. It's new so everything clean and working; but I can imagine with the amount of staff they had on shift this place will always be clean. I got the XXL burger (mayo, onion, cheese and bacon) which is the only way one should order a burger, LOL - and it was absolutely wonderful. Great flavor, seasoned well, a little crispy around the edges with the right balance of cheese and onions. Fat fries - definitely satisfying, I love steak fries. They were lightly salted, but there is salt & pepper shakers on your tables. Lemon Pepper wings - cooked well/ crispy with decent seasoning, next time I might ask for extra seasoning. Mild Buffalo wings - cooked well/crispy and the sauce was perfect! The cashier mentioned the XXXL Challenge which is 1.5 lb. monster with 3 enormous patties to get your picture on the wall. I was next door at the coffee shop when the staff caught our attention regarding their training day. The don't open for a few days, but were training the staff. They were giving free meals the whole day. I ordered the impossible burger meal. You have the option of skinny vs fat fries. The fat fries are like steak fries. I opted for the fat fries and I was not disappointed. The burger was a perfect size and it was tasty. We also sampled their strawberry shake. The shake tasted like fresh strawberries for sure. This was a first time eating at Fatburger after a recommendation to try it. When you walk in everyone yells out a welcome. We happened to go on a Friday night at 7-730ish and were the only people on there. The staff was friendly and helpful with the menu. The burgers all have cheese on them in their pictures but it is an up charge so that's a little misleading, My daughter even stated that and the girl at counter said, "Yeah, I don't know why they do that." There are here options for cheese though so that's was nice. The burgers were fresh and not messy while eating with all recommended toppings. The fries and onion rings were delicious, hot and fresh! Our bill was $38 which was a little pricey for two burgers but they included the drinks too. Just part of our economy anymore to pay that when going out. Fatburger thank you for coming back. The open sign isn't on yet but they are open and serving. Fully staffed. Decent amount of space inside and seems like the whole menu is available. I got the skinny burger because I'm supposed to be dieting lol the meat is seasoned super well. It was delicious. My diet also includes fat fries, mind yo bizness, and they were also great. This place was a bust. I took my teenage son. We tried two different burgers, chili cheese fries, a shake and wings. Neither of us felt any of the food was more than just "OK". Wait for food was super long. The burgers came out looking picture perfect but were very bland. Their double burger was HUGE and hot. The BBQ burger was ice cold due to the lettuce and bbq sauce. Chili tasted like from a can with shredded unmelted cheese on top (They don't have a way to melt it). Wings were decent size, soggy and loaded with super thick sauce. The Parmesan garlic is off putting and a yellow color we wiped the sauce off with napkins. Shake was just like anywhere else. Tables were dirty and packed because the high tops chairs were so uncomfortable and awkward to sit on. They definitely need to replace them with stools or short tables/chairs. read more

So for anyone who hasn't had Fatburger it is a Cali staple. However it is similar to Whaterburger, but very different. The size in burgers is very comparable but taste is not. Fatburger uses seasonal on their Pattie's along with other seasoning. Whaterburger does not. The flavors are completely different. All burgers on Fatburger require for you all to purchase cheese as an add on. Get the cheese if you can have dairy. I would tell you all to get an original fatburger with bacon and cheese on it. I Wouk say if you do not like relish remove it from your burger and get skinny fries. The Fat Fries taste like Red Robin but do not having the season all on them just salt and pepper. The shakes are a banger, def get a shake. The service is good. They are new and working out the kinks but try it you all. It's pricey but you get a lot of food for the price. I would say they are on par with Red Robin price. The restaurant is clean and very well decorated. If you're in the Westover Area of San Antonio try this place out. read more

Just tried and got a burger with bacon and cheese loaded. Then chili cheese steak fries. I ordered thru uber eats. LOVE the chili; makes me wish they had chili dogs lol. They forgot the cheese on my fries but I still enjoyed them as the chili was great on them. My order was delayed so I expected it to be gross; but it was still decent. I saw other reviews where people mentioned dry and I had Mayo and mustard and the burger did seem a little dry anyway but the flavor was still great and I think id just add a little more sauce. In my opinion it was a high quality meat and therefore not overly greasy . I really enjoyed it and will definitely be eating there again. 4 stars cause the cheese lol! Well, the only thing fat about this place was the disappointment. Oh and definitely the buns. Ordered the "Fat Burger" and the Fried Chicken Sandwich. The buns are served COLD which absolutely kills the sandwich you're ordering. The burger isn't fat, the buns are. If the buns weren't served cold everything would have been pretty good but that just ruined my appetite. I did eat the onion rings that's we ordered first, aside from a little salt needed they were the best thing we ate. Also tried their Maui Banana shake and it's fire. Just a damn shame they serve everything on cold buns. They won't last if this doesn't change sadly. Service was super slow, molasses slow. Took them forever to even acknowledge that my wife was at the counter. And making the sandwiches from the tickets, I don't know if the print is too small or if all the employees needed glasses but they were having a horrible time reading the tickets & processing what was on them which added to slowing things down. First time here. Staff was nice but took way too long. I was the only customer there aside from a couple delivery people. I waited about 20 minutes (or longer) for a turkey burger that cost $14 (no drink). I think my order might sat there for a minute, so when I finally went to the register to ask how much longer the cashier came back immediately with my order. This place is good. Service was great. I tried the impossible burger. It actually had a lot of flavor and was really good. I got the onion rings and it was really flavorful and seasoned a good side option. My kids enjoyed the fries but they weren't salted so they did add salt to them. I think this was a really good spot. The atmosphere is really nice and it's a quick dinner meal if you're trying to go with family there is more than enough seating. Music nice. The price is good on average you're gonna pay about $15 per meal and it's good if you can get the military discount. I'd recommend this spot. Good eats!! read more
