    The Crispy Chicken Sandwich
    Jennifer B.

The first time having this delivered, boneless chicken wing had a great flavor and were juicy! Had the sauce on the side so the breading was still crisp. Hubby liked their standard burger and sweet potato fries, he said the burger was great and would Order again. Sadly my chicken sandwich was terrible... there eas barely any chicken to call a sandwich, and what was there was so over cooked. I added bacon on it and the bacon was very crisp as well. I don't know if I want to order from them again or not... (Order via door dash so can only base opinion on the food delivery. Food was fast to deliver:)

If you're looking for a mean, juicy burger, look no further. The beef is fresh and juicy, and the buns are nice and soft. The meat-to-bun ratio is a little off, so you get more beef than bun, which is not a bad thing, but it can get messy. I'll definitely go for a single patty next time. During my last visit, the manager was very attentive and personally checked in to see how my experience was going. The place is fairly clean for a burger joint. While they've switched from tap beer, they still have some craft beers available, which I really appreciate. The selection is small but fair. Prices aren't bad, but you can tell the food is of higher quality than your regular burger chain.

    Fatburger - Alamo Ranch

I have been seeing Fatburgers open up across San Antonio for some time now and have finally had the opportunity to try the one in Alamo Ranch! Upon entering on a slow Friday evening, the atmosphere is very laid back, the employees were friendly and welcomed us in. The mural of San Antonio cultura is made aware by Fatburger and I really like how the wall is painted. Now let's rate the food, I ordered the Original Fatburger since I had no idea the thickness of the patties and fat fries because come on a juicy crisp burger deserves thick fries to compliment it! The burger ordered how I like it, was cooked made to order, full of flavor and the cheese melted right on top it will certainly keep me coming back for more and the fries were evening cooked and crispy dipped ketchup ole school way and I had one of the best burger meals in the city! Overall, great food, nice atmosphere and friendly employees I'll be sure and make a return to Fatburger!

Service was average. There's nothing to brag about. Ambiance is laid back. I wanted to try this place w/ my kids. I got three hamburger combo w/ medium drink and skinny fries. The burger was ok. The bun was dry. The fries didn't seem too fresh. Their lemonade was delicious. Their strawberry watermelon was leaking and was making a puddle on the floor. For 3 burger meals it cost me $45.76... for burgers... I dont think I will be going back anytime soon or at all for that price.

I finally tried the first Fatburger location in San Antonio. The restaurant was nice, clean had a SA mural on the wall. The staff were very friendly and nice. The menu has lots of options and sizes to select from. We had the XXL burger combo. It has 2 patties and a pound of meat. Also had fat and skinny fries and a shake. The food was good. Not the best burger but still very good. Fresh topping and made to order for sure. My biggest gripe is the price at Fatburger. I spent 50 bucks on 2 combos and a milk shake. At that price point I don't think I will be going back ... Good job to the staff and the cook but to expensive for me.

    Gotta try something NEW!!!

I have been waiting for this place to open and boy did they make me happy today. Staff was super excited and full of energy. One guy came to our table 4 times to check on us. It's a fairly decent sized place with about 25 -35 seats. It's new so everything clean and working; but I can imagine with the amount of staff they had on shift this place will always be clean. I got the XXL burger (mayo, onion, cheese and bacon) which is the only way one should order a burger, LOL - and it was absolutely wonderful. Great flavor, seasoned well, a little crispy around the edges with the right balance of cheese and onions. Fat fries - definitely satisfying, I love steak fries. They were lightly salted, but there is salt & pepper shakers on your tables. Lemon Pepper wings - cooked well/ crispy with decent seasoning, next time I might ask for extra seasoning. Mild Buffalo wings - cooked well/crispy and the sauce was perfect! The cashier mentioned the XXXL Challenge which is 1.5 lb. monster with 3 enormous patties to get your picture on the wall. The cool thing is the challenge is only the patties, no toppies, no sides, no drink to win! I'm pretty sure I'm going to be going back to beat this one out the box. #XXXLchallenge

I was next door at the coffee shop when the staff caught our attention regarding their training day. The don't open for a few days, but were training the staff. They were giving free meals the whole day. I ordered the impossible burger meal. You have the option of skinny vs fat fries. The fat fries are like steak fries. I opted for the fat fries and I was not disappointed. The burger was a perfect size and it was tasty. We also sampled their strawberry shake. The shake tasted like fresh strawberries for sure. Everyone was extremely friendly. Elizabeth kept checking in on us. Definitely a good experience. Once they are officially open, they will also sell beer and margs. Parking is available on site, but shared with the other businesses

First time here for lunch. We ordered on line to take lunch to our son and his family. I got the original hamburger meal which was very good and juicy. I enjoyed the Fat fries. I will come back

This was a first time eating at Fatburger after a recommendation to try it. When you walk in everyone yells out a welcome. We happened to go on a Friday night at 7-730ish and were the only people on there. The staff was friendly and helpful with the menu. The burgers all have cheese on them in their pictures but it is an up charge so that's a little misleading, My daughter even stated that and the girl at counter said, "Yeah, I don't know why they do that." There are here options for cheese though so that's was nice. The burgers were fresh and not messy while eating with all recommended toppings. The fries and onion rings were delicious, hot and fresh! Our bill was $38 which was a little pricey for two burgers but they included the drinks too. Just part of our economy anymore to pay that when going out. We would go there again because of atmosphere (bathrooms were very clean too), , staff, and food. If you haven tried it, you should give it a whirl. We will be back!

Only one visit so far. Open late Friday and Saturday. Burgers tasted good. Onion rings were cooked nicely. Wings were meaty and cooked crispy on the outside and not dry inside but the sauce (bourbon bbq) was just fine. I like it thicker and stickier. Staff was friendly and patient. Will go back

Ordered a large burger meal around 9:00 at night. I thought it was already closed, because the staff put chairs over half the tables, but I found out that they closed at 11. Other than that the food was pretty good. I wasn't super impressed by the burgers for the price. The inside of the restaurant had a nice mural on the wall and a few cool pieces of artwork.

Been waiting to check this place out and stopped by for a lunch date. They cook the food right there so it is a little bit of a wait as expected. The service was great and the staff were on it as far as team work and getting the orders out. It was a little bit pricey for 2 meals, but glad we came out and tried it. The sweet potato fries needed to be cooked a little bit longer and a few were still hard.

The cashier and servers were on top of things. They came to the table several times making sure everything was ok or if we needed anything. The only thing was the noise it was so loud you could not hear when they ask you a question. The food on the other hand was very good the impossible burger was seasoned just right and juicy. I will have to come back for the big opening.

Yeah, okay, it's convenient, but by the time you pay to park (minimum of four hours, which pissed me off) and then have your tiny, overpriced burger...you gonna be mad. Do yourself a favor and fight for street parking. I walked up to the outside counter Saturday night about 7:20. Never been here. The ladies behind the counter obviously could NOT have cared less. No nice welcome...no pleasantries. Nothing said. I spoke first, asking about seating availability inside (it was chilly), and they were rude - looked at me like I was from outer space and said they didn't know. They said they didn't know in that "yeah, good luck with that...it's Saturday at 7, dumbass" kinda way. How could you not know? And if you truly didn't know, which one of them should have gone to check for me. So I went and checked myself. Turns out: plenty of seating. Returned to the chilly duo and placed my order. Ordered the Wake and Bacon burger. I also ordered a Topo Chico, which was also met with a blank "are you from this planet?" stare. How do you not have Topo Chico or something similar !? The burger was just okay. Tiny, but tasty. Fries were so salty and over-seasoned as to be almost inedible. No one checked on me after bringing me my burger. Not one time. The only reason I gave the third star: neat, dog friendly outside area which would be cool for a group outing. Probably not going back.

Drinks were AMAZING! Bartender Rob made the best Negroni I've ever had. I asked him to use whatever gin he thought best--result was an artistic smooooooth full-bodied drink. Told him when I was done I'd lick the glass if it wasn't considered so uncouth for a 'mature' lady like myself to do so Hubby's Buffalo Trace bourbon old fashioned was also outstanding. Rob was the bartender last night who did such a great job, and his work was even better tonight. We highly recommend The EsquireTavern for excellent cocktails. We love the long wood bar and high copper ceiling upstairs, but love the intimate speakeasy atmosphere downstairs even more. We'll definitely be back every time we're in San Antonio! First review, Friday night: Drinks were great (Manhattan and Bourbon Old Fashioned). REAL drinks, no complaints at all about those. And the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Those aspects of the Esquire get 5+ stars from us. But the appetizers were not good, close to inedible. It was about 8:30pm or so, so maybe they were getting ready to close out the kitchen but the chalupitas with chicken tasted like rubber, and no flavor at all. The seafood platter had something in it that was breading with shell inside, but no meat of any kind. We couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be. The shrimp was good and the fish was good but those other things... We'll always love the drinks, the long wooden bar, and the ambiance at the Esquire Tavern, but we'll eat somewhere else and come here for before or after dinner drinks. (See update above to this review for when we returned the next night for after dinner drinks.)

My partner and I went on a Sunday morning just after 11am and there were already people coming in to eat. It's popular for a reason! I've eaten here a few times and had a very consistently good time, but this review will be about my most recent visit. We visited on a rainy day, but luckily we were able to snag one of the inside tables, we ordered at the counter and our orders arrived very quickly. I got the Ratchet dog which is a beef dog with queso, hot Cheetos and fried jalapeños. Dogfather uses quality dogs and buns for all of their gourmet dogs. I found the Ratchet to be meaty, salty with just right amount of spice from the jalapeños. My partner got the Pop it like it's hot, but removed the jalapeños. This was good but lacking a bit of flavor, however she and I both agreed that was on her for taking the jalapeños off the dog. Both dogs were extremely tasty, and we devoured both. I also got an order of curly fries loaded with their chili and cheese. For me, these did not have to go as HARD as they did. The chili they are using at Dogfather is seriously good, with a slight tang and a good amount of spice. It thrills but does not take away from your meal with too much heat. Very tasty. My only feedback is that Dogfather needs a larger space! There's a good size outside seating area, but for times like today when it's raining people need some coverage. They're doing it right and the crowds want to come! As I have stated this is a local favorite. If you live nearby, make it a regular spot. If you live in San Antonio, do yourself a favor and make a trip over at least sometimes. If you like hot dogs you won't go wrong.
