They had a number of interesting paintings from BC artist Jennifer Sparacino. I'd love to own something like that - but it was way outside of my price range. Still - it did not diminish my enjoyment of the artistry and craft that went into these pieces. Saturday 1700 The…read morePlaza Galleries was relatively quiet at this hour and we were able to enjoy the art pieces unmolested by other patrons. I was in love with almost every piece and unfazed by the prices. The store owner Barak and the other European lady were fantastic at giving us our space and then at explaining the art process and the history behind the pieces we were interested in. I was superbly interested in a bear piece by Miri, who happened to be Barak's sister, and Barak described her painting process and the curators even brought the piece over to another room so we can observe how the painting changed when the lights were dimmed. When we left we were told two other couples had expressed interest in the bear piece, then when we came back from dinner another couple were just leaving to dinner to talk over which two of three pieces (one being the bear piece) they were going to procure. The 48" by 48" piece shipped to the US cost $350 Canadian and is insured and fitted into a custom crate, to arrive in a week. Overall a happy, happy customer!

I was asked to not take pictures, so I have none to share. However, I would recommend checking out their website to see who the featured artists are and what art is available as I learned the artists rotate. There were the expected wilderness/Canada-I-love-thee canvas paintings. There were the unexpected, vivid, bright colors of nature. Besides paintings, they also had photography and mixed media.

I loved the collection and it was super cool to learn more about it from our tour guide. Overall a cool place if you catch the right exhibits, one of the prettiest layouts I've seen for a place and great location since it's super close to downtown.

It's hard to explain, but as the lighting on the painting is reduced, it accurately reflects what the landscape would look like during different times of the day - in terms of sunlight, fading sunlight - very cool! You have to see this! The lady managing the shop was very nice.

When i saw this gallery the works looked similar to an artist from Lunenburg nova Scotia that i had collected a piece from years ago. we went inside the gallery and was greeted by a very sweet woman who spent a lot of time with us. - turns out Mark Richards is the son of the other artist Daniel Richards. Both my sister and i walked out with a purchase each. Now both works of art (father & Son) are in my entrance hall and just looking at them takes me back to the Canadian coasts.

The gentleman running the gallery (I forget his name) was very friendly and answered all of our questions about the art pieces - including the very large ceremonial mask hanging from the ceiling in the center of the gallery. I love learning about North American natives and their culture - their music, art, history, etc. I wish I could afford a couple of their art pieces - they were way out of my price range - but I still enjoyed seeing them and hearing about them!

It was all about the Westcoaster Luge during our visit to Whistler. The kids also enjoyed the mini…read morezipline and Amazen Maze, but the luge was by far their favorite. Kids can go on their own around age 8, so our youngest had to have an adult accompany him (yipee!). You can easily control your speed, so it was funny to see how fast or slow different people went. They did a good job of spacing out riders so you didn't bunch up. There is a timer to track your speed if you're competitive. I've been to adventure zones at several resorts in Lake Tahoe (Squaw Valley and Northstar) and this is far superior.

My no fear 2 year old had a blast on it and my more cautious 6 year old really liked it and appreciated the staff that started out with small jumps and made sure she was comfortable with going higher before launching way high up. The activities are fun and not short like a state fair would have. The staff are all friendly, clean, mature and helpful. If parents want something to wear out their kids a bit, take them here for a couple hours.
