On occasion I get the chance to go here and the food and service are always great. I normally get the 24oz bone in ribeye which I highly recommended for flavor and to fill a big appetite . Appetizers and sides are definitely shareable portions (And I am a big guy lol). Desserts are delicious; I recommend the tableside bananas foster. Sad. No longer our Favorite for steak. What a colossal disappointment. The two visits prior were excellent. However, it had been almost two years since we last ate here and it was almost immediately apparent that Favorites has declined in quality tremendously. This place used to go above and beyond in service and culinary delight. Now, it's like eating at a certain Australian-themed steakhouse chain, but paying for a Jeff Ruby experience. Service was okay, and our waitress was sweet, but despite their extensive wine collection, the waitress knew absolutely nothing about wine, and the wine was far too chilled for a Cabernet. The cocoa orange bread was delicious (apparently a recipe created by the GM), and I liked the Brussels sprouts a lot (the rest of the table didn't agree with me on that, but I like my sprouts charred to a crisp. Unfortunately, that's not how I like my steak.) The rib eyes were atrocious; tough, gristle everywhere (not marbling... I'm talking white tendon and gristle). Three of us ordered rib eye. None of us finished them. The flavor was gamey and tasted less than fresh. All of them were over-cooked. I ordered medium rare, received a piece of meat no thicker than 1/2", and it was barely light pink with lots of gray. I sent it back, only to be told by the waitress, "The chef said it's cooked correctly and it's supposed to be that way for medium rare." I replied, "Well, he's wrong." The second one came out cooked properly, but was so tough, I couldn't eat it. The flavor was way off as well. Even the red wine sugo sauce was no help and only offered another assault to my palette. My mom's Chicken Scalopini was dry as a bone and the noodles were so over cooked, they were mushy! My dad's steak was also a chew toy, but he doesn't ever complain, so he ate enough to not be hungry. I came here to give my parents an amazing dining experience for their last night in Ohio, and I feel like we all got robbed. $500 for a sub par meal with a side of arrogance from a supposed chef who obviously doesn't test his food. Very nice ambiance. We had a lovely table by the window and could enjoy watching the horses racing. Server was kind. But food came out slowly. The complimentary bread basket was one of the highlights of the meal. Shrimp cocktail was not good, hard bland shrimp. The brie toast was tiny. The salmon was overcooked but the accompanying cauliflower and potatoes were good. The pork cutlet was good, broccolini was well prepared, but the Boursin ravioli was not edible. Had way too much boursin stuffed in the ravioli and lacked complexity of flavor. The strawberry shortcake and the ricotta cheesecake were both good. We did the 3 course meal for 2 for 50$ menu, which is offered Wednesday and Sunday nights. The price and portions were fine and the ambiance was great, just wished the food tasted a little better. All in all was a relaxing Sunday evening and we got to feel like we were out of town with the novel environment. read more

This is a review of Favorites Steak & Pasta restaurant ONLY. It should probably be 4 1/2 stars. My group of 17, with individual checks, received excellent and professional service from Elizabeth L. and Chris. Chris provided the best ever drink refill service and I drink a lot of water! Everyone in my group thought that the food was delicious and reasonably priced considering the quality, taste, and size of portions. I admit that I eat meat free & wheat free so I ordered the mushrooms and the asparagus and the chocolate dessert (to share) and all were very very good - I would order them again. My friends ordered everything from pork chops to salmon to scallops to steak to pasta and all was excellent. The food presentation was lovely, the plates cleared discretely. We were seated in a nice private area with a view of the track but near the kitchen entrance. It was a bit hard to hear with all of us talking and not enough materials to absorb the sound, but that is the norm for us at most restaurants. This atmosphere was classy, with white linen napkins and nice flatware and unique serving dishes. I would have liked to have had more meat free options such as Quinoa salad or Farro for protein. Also a spinach salad or field greens with fresh berries & nuts, etc. read more

Outstanding restaurant. The steak are worth every bit you pay for them. Service is outstanding. Did not have to wait for around for the server when I needed a refill. I had the boneless ribeye and the wife had the petite fillet. Mine was cooked fine. Wife's was slightly over cooked but was delicious none the less. We had the pepperoni bread as an appetizer that very good. Finally they were able to surprise my wife with the anniversary dessert. read more

Ok, let's start with free valet parking. Not so, unless you have a black or purple card. Now the restaurant. $64.00 for a $9.00 bottle of 14 Hands. A 10 ounce filet that was 6 ounces at most. It took 1 hour and forty five minutes to get our food after asking 3 times what took so long. Charged $18 for a birthday cake we did not receive. The manager did take $118 off our bill for six people but told our waitress it was done just to get rid of us. NEVER AGAIN! read more

What A Disappointment. First and last time we will eat at Favorites Steak and Pasta at Belterra Park. We rarely go to a nice restaurant, and decided to try Favorites for our anniversary. I ordered an apricot sour - they don't carry apricot brandy; then I ordered a strawberry daiquiri - they don't do frozen drinks; fine, I'll have a mojito - they don't carry mint. Seriously, a CASINO cannot make me a drink?! I ended up having a Diet Coke. My $36 filet was underdone in the middle, overdone on the outside, chewy, and tough. Husband said his steak was very good (not a filet but I don't recall the cut). Macaroni and cheese was just okay. House-made bread was great but house-made butter was bland. Looked forward to dessert, especially since they're also made in-house. Asked the server what was good and he recommended the lemon ricotta cheesecake. Husband tasted it, didn't say anything, and asked me to taste it. I said, "It tastes like Lemon Pledge." He emphatically agreed "Yes!" This was the worst high-priced dining experience I've had. UPDATE: I was invited by Favorites to come back for another dinner. My husband and I did so and received VIP treatment - food, service, and ambiance were excellent. read more

This is a casino steak place and the most upscale of the choices. So yeah, this is Cincinnati where there are phenomenal steak restaurants. Overall, they do a pretty good. The salads are very good (we had the wedge), the shrimp cocktail was a good value and the steak (filet) was cooked perfectly. Could use a little more sear and seasoning but very good. Here is my issue. Please enforce some sort of dress code! When you spend $250 on a dinner I don't need to see baseball caps, sleeveless "coors light" tee-shirts and shorts shorts. Went there on a weeknight when it was not busy. Service was very slow. Good quality was good but not great. Chopped salad was not so good. Steak was undercooked. Wine is extremely expensive. All in all probably not worth the gamble! read more

Not impressed at all. Asked for a Moscow mule cocktail they can't make one. They dont have ginger beer. Really? Who doesn't have Moscow mules in 2018. Asked for glass of brute champagne and got prosecco. Ordered the Brie & fig bruschetta....terrible. The amount of Brie was the size of pea. The figs were as big as the bread. Calamari was very tender and was good. Caesar salad was ok. The dinners we order were prime rib medium, it was red. Also nothing on the plate except micro-greens. Most places put some onion straws on top of the steak or small red potato. Just a hunk of meat on a white plate. Special was crab stuffed flounder very small piece, but very good. Eggplant Parmesan, nothing special... save the money and make it at home. Rib eye steak it was ok. In between our salad and main course we waited over 45 minutes. The need to hire more staff. After sitting there for 2hrs we had to ask for more water. No one picked up our empty glasses or appetizer plates for at least 30 minutes. On to desert strawberry short cake. Don't waste your money its frozen strawberries. The 3 cup brûlée even worse. There were 4 of us and no one liked the deserts. They try to make some of the dishes attractive but the quality is definitely lacking. I had a Manhattan it was served in a pretty glass and it was tasty. Bread basket is good. Our server was nice, but definitely spread thin, too many tables to give good customer service. read more

Awful, just awful. I attended a company Christmas party last night, so I resisted complaining in the restaurant. However, if this meal had been on my dime, I would have INSISTED that the steak be taken off the bill. The chef, (I am assuming he actually holds such credentials), does not know how to cook meat well done. I realize that most steak eaters like some blood, but I don't. They "re-fired" my steak, but of course the jerk in the kitchen took it personally and turned it to coal. That isn't the same as well done. I didn't order jerky. If your are playing slots and want to eat, you may try it out, although there are other restaurants on site that might provide a better experience. If you want to eat steak, go to a steak restaurant that employ true professionals. I recommend The Precinct or Jag's. Favorites is simply a PRETENDER to fine dining. read more

A dear friend was celebrating his birthday, and a guys night out seemed appropriate. We arrived on time, were seated promptly and the service was slow but for the most part acceptable. The menu is very limited. A few steaks, a few pastas, a fish special. Due to this limited menu, my friend and I happened to order the same entrée, the 16 ounce boneless ribeye. My friend was served an excellent ribeye, while I was plated a strip. I pointed out to the server, not our waitress, that this looked like a strip not a ribeye. She took it to the kitchen and returned a short time later claiming that it WAS a ribeye, only cut a bit different, according to the chef. Now if this were true, any chain steak house would know better than to send this cut out along with a traditionally cut ribeye to a single table. Further, any such cut would be rejected in a true fine dining restaurant. But here we were. I tried the steak, by this time the server was long gone, and it was indeed a fine...strip. I munched on sides and bread. When our waitress finally stopped by, I told her I was served a strip instead of a ribeye. She offered that perhaps she had put in the wrong order. I explained that I had already sent the entrée back once and was told a ridiculous lie. I asked that the steak go back and not be replaced. What happened next was the true failure. Nothing. No manager came to apologize, to ask for details, nothing. If you send an order back in a chain restaurant, from Ihop to Outback, the manager will want to know what happened and how to make it right. But here, nothing. So, if you have a couple of hundred dollars to burn, go somewhere that is less of a gamble. Most anywhere would be better. read more

A group of about 20 women decided to try out this restaurant, located inside the newly opened Belterra Park Gaming and Entertainment Center. We found the service to be attentive and the overall quality of the food to be quite good. There were a few hiccups in my own order, but I was still pleased with my food. I ordered the petite prime rib (12 oz, $24) with an a la carte dish of the Spinach Gratin ($5.50). All sides are extra. Instead, I received the 16 oz. Boneless Ribeye ($30). I actually love Ribeye, and this was cooked rare as I had ordered it, so I kept it. The seasoning was good, as one might expect from most steak houses, and I really enjoyed the spinach dish, with lovely spinach leaves inside. I had ordered a glass of the Zinfandel, listed on the menu ($10 for 6 oz) and the server said, "That is not on our menu." I pointed out that it was, indeed, and then she told me that the bar could "make me a glass" which is what they did by taking a white wine and adding a red syrup to it. I was quite surprised and rather dismayed that she would say something like that, so I ordered a Riesling ($9 for 6 oz) which I figured wouldn't have anything added to it. I am hoping that the server might have just been confused, and that a restaurant charging the prices of Favorites would not resort to tricks like this. Finally, a few of us ordered dessert. I had the creme brulee, and it was a very nice portion size ($7.50) that two people could share. It had an interesting adornment on top (called an almond tuille), although I think a spun sugar decoration might have also enhanced the dessert. The manager came to the tables at the end of the dining, asking us how our food was. I think everyone was satisfied, and the view of the race track was lovely. I would come here again for a special meal (there are items less expensive) even though you need to walk past all of the slot machines to get to the restaurant. read more

Beltera park has a few dining options so we tried favorites, started great, the shrimp cocktail came out with 5 massive shrimp, the wedge salad was one of the best I've had. The $45 barrel cut fillet was ordered medium and came out past med well. It was not good, they asked if I wanted them to start another steak and I didn't want to wait another 30 minutes so I did the best with what I had but it wasn't good. If I pay $45 for a steak it should be better than what I grill at home. read more

We try to eat at Favorite's a couple times each month. The Steak is very good! I especially love the Strip Steak and they have a great Filet. For a great experience, try what we get each time. Start with their Caesar Salad, it's very good. It's already cut up in bite size pieces too. Order your steak and add on a Baked Potato. They are baked just right and come with all the toppings; butter, sour cream, cheese, bacon and green onion. A MUST for this Restaurant is saving room for Dessert & Coffee! I've experienced 2 of them so far... the Cheesecake, which is absolutely fantastic! One of the best I've had. My very favorite Dessert is the Bananamisu. If you love Tiramisu, this is a must try. It's enough to split after a large dinner. I remember my first bite and I was actually "speechless". The taste and texture in the mouth was the BEST! It's served atop homemade caramel sauce. They also garnish the plate with 2 pieces of fresh banana caramelized, YUM! We love the atmosphere and the great staff! Very friendly, not stuffy! read more
