When you come to eat at the same place three times in one week, then you know that it's good. I am addicted to their po-boys!! Roast beef, fried shrimp, triple meat, I love them all. I have my family hooked on ordering the roast beef full dressed with a side of gravy. An order of potato wedges is massively generous. It wouldn't be a trip to Ocean Springs without a trip to Fayard's for our In-Gas-Station dining experience. This trip be ordered the Shrimp PoBoy to share. Last time we had the Shrimp PoBoy and the roast beef PoBoy, but had way too much food. So we ordered and waited. There were people there when we arrived at 2:00PM and people ordering and taking a way while we ate. Some lady came in and picked up four large PoBoys. Our number was called and we were excited. Our Fayard's PoBoy was ready for pickup. We opened this massive package up and there it was. The best Shrimp PoBoy of the week. As I said we shared the huge thing. We ate and ate. The fried shrimp kept falling out it was so over stuffed. I have come to realized over the last years that the small shrimp actually do better on a PoBoy versus the large ones and this was the case. Everyone's PoBoys looked good around us and everyone seemed very happy. Go ahead visit this place. Eat in or take out. On previous trips we have taken to go and they heat up very well. Yep it's a gas station. I have never gotten gas here! You walk in and the smell of fresh grease hits. I walked in for a po boy, but the young lady at the counter said hey I got fresh shrimp out the fryer try one bang TASTY! As I'm munching and heading to get a drink (most sodas, energy drinks, water is cheaper here) I hit the po boy stand which you can get any type that you can think about from deli meat to fish. Yes, it is a must stop for a quick delicious poor boy. Pressed and dressed! Deliciously warm French bread. This trip we had Cajan Roast Beef. Delicious and messy. Gravy running down my arm. So good ! When I used to live here on the coast I made a steady diet of Fayard's especially the original in D'Iberville. I almost cried when I found it had succumbed but was pleasantly surprised to find this one in Ocean Springs, well until..., This place , if a Fayard's still, it is NOTHING like the original. The bread was lousy, the oysters soggy and fishy. The little girls acted like they were doing me a favor just to get two little packages of lousy cocktail sauce. Rude and the food BAD! Pricey for what you get for sure. Update, I have since found that Mr. Elvis has a REAL Fayard's on Pass Rd. Biloxi, East of Popps Ferry. There's another close to Cedar Lake. I went to Fayards for the 2nd and LAST time today. So far had a roast beef and cheesesteak poboy($10.00 plus tax). Both overpriced. Should include fries and a drink, but doesn't. Tasted kind of burnt. They must put tomatoes in a blender, but u can't taste it or see it. Nor could u taste the cheese. I prefer Subway over this place! Worst king cakes ever. Since moving to Houston, it's difficult to find a good quality king cake, so when my mom came out for a visit this weekend, and I asked her to PLEASE bring me a bakery quality king cake. I specifically told her - not Wal Mart and not a grocery store. She brought me king cakes from a gas station! At least that made me laugh. It's not as though I was expecting the caliber of Manny's or Gambino's in New Orleans, but seriously, the Paul's king cakes she brought were inedible. Every other week we order a sub or po-boy take out and this weeks location was OS Fayard. Decades ago when Fayards first started opening their gas stations they used to make pretty decent sandwiches but I'm afraid the good times are gone. My shrimp po-boy had stale, chewy and hard shrimp that were probably Sysco frozen popcorn shrimp. The bread for my po-boy didnt even resemble french bread but was more like a toasted hot dog bun I hate to write such a bad review about Fayards cause they do have some pretty good butchered meats but unfortunately their deli leaves much to be desired. read more

One of the finest shrimp poboy ever. Fayards is an extremely unpretentious Marathon gas station grocery store and poboy grill. Their poboy is pressed so the bread is slightly crispy and warm. I ordered the crab poyboy BIG MISTAKE. First it is not dressed as should be. It had two small sliced tomato and no lettuce. The crab had a odd flavor to it. . It's Mardi Gras season and what does that mean? King cake! We were by our hotel and everyone in the car was hollering KING CAKE. My niece LOVES king cake. We stopped at Fayard's because we saw the sign that said they had them. There was no price on them but I figured since other places they are usually about $8, it couldn't be much more than that. Holy crap!!! They were $15! Ok, I realize that this is a conveinence store, but that is one hell of a markup because my cousin got one from a grocery store and it was $7.99. I still bought it because everyone was acting like they were going to die if they didn't have king cake right then, but come on Fayard's!! Since I don't live on the coast anymore, whenever I come home I have a hankering for a poboy. And, if you can catch Fayard's actually serving, I think it's a pretty solid choice. During my visits, it's been hit or miss whether or not they are making the poboys, so I unfortunately can't speak to how exact their schedule is. But I've always been happy with my orders, usually an oyster or shrimp or soft shell crab. Also had I think what was like a Philly cheesesteak, and it was pretty good as well. Ordered a 6in, Bacon Cheeseburger poboy. They made it a 12in and did not offer to adjust the pricing. Got home and opened a hot, nasty mess. The way it smelled and looked, I thought they had given me a chillicheese burger. No, it was just sloppy. The meat was formed to fit the bread, 12in pattie...um, no. It was less than a quarter inch thick, gooey, grey, and had a almost sour taste to it. If I wasn't on my lunch break, I'd drive back and demand a refund for this hot mess of a sandwich. The service has consistently been polite, professional and fast, and the meal tasteful and mouth watering. We trust Julian Fayard BP so much that when we decided to serve a 5 course southern meal for our friends and family in California, it was Julian Fayard BP who helped us plan the meals, made preparation recommendations and mailed the ingredients to us that were not readily available here in California. I eat there as much as possible. The employees are polite and very helpful to make sure everyone in the store doesn't need any help. The food is out of this world. The shrimp po boys are always over stuffed with shrimp. The roast beef are just like the ole Biloxi ones that only locals know. If you are eating at a table in there more than likely you will meet the owner as he is always asking how everything is and thanking everyone of his customers. I was worried that the Ocean Springs one wouldn't be as good as the Gulfport one that I used to live by, but it is and I'm relieved that I still have a local Fayard's after moving to OS. I was traveling from Mobile to Biloxi and told my friend not to stop by the interstate as I had noticed on my last trip that the gas was cheaper at Fayard's, a little further down the road. The sign said that regular gas was $304.9 (cash) and $309.9 (credit). As I was pumping the gas while my friend went inside to pay, I noticed the price on the pump was $309.0. I went inside and asked the cashier how can you say the gas is $304.9 when the pump says $309.9? She said that is cash only. In the first place, very few people use cash these days, but I would think that a debit card would be considered cash because it is not credit, but she said "A card is a card." Another customer who heard the exchange agreed with me and got in his car and left to get gas elsewhere. My point is, I believe they are deceiving or simply misleading people and that if gas bought with a debit card is charged the higher price, their sign should say either "card" or "debit/credit" for the higher price instead of simply "Credit". I will not do business with this store again and I plan to call the BBB and get their opinion on this matter and tell everyone I know about it because I personally believe they are intentionally misleading customes with their sign. read more
