    Overstuffed Shrimp PoBoy.

It wouldn't be a trip to Ocean Springs without a trip to Fayard's for our In-Gas-Station dining experience. This trip be ordered the Shrimp PoBoy to share. Last time we had the Shrimp PoBoy and the roast beef PoBoy, but had way too much food. So we ordered and waited. There were people there when we arrived at 2:00PM and people ordering and taking a way while we ate. Some lady came in and picked up four large PoBoys. Our number was called and we were excited. Our Fayard's PoBoy was ready for pickup. We opened this massive package up and there it was. The best Shrimp PoBoy of the week. As I said we shared the huge thing. We ate and ate. The fried shrimp kept falling out it was so over stuffed. I have come to realized over the last years that the small shrimp actually do better on a PoBoy versus the large ones and this was the case. Everyone's PoBoys looked good around us and everyone seemed very happy. Go ahead visit this place. Eat in or take out. On previous trips we have taken to go and they heat up very well. Highly recommend. Large Shrimp PoBoy $12.99 and big enough for 2 to share. Can't wait until our next trip to OC.

    Shrimp po'boy and Arnold Palmer.

First off all, the girls who work there are the sweetest. They've got po''boys of all kinds, cold cut subs or hot pressed. The bread is perfection. Crunchy and light. Fried ocra, sweet tea, they've got it all plus smiles. Highly recommend a stop at this gas station hidden gem.

When I used to live here on the coast I made a steady diet of Fayard's especially the original in D'Iberville. I almost cried when I found it had succumbed but was pleasantly surprised to find this one in Ocean Springs, well until..., This place , if a Fayard's still, it is NOTHING like the original. The bread was lousy, the oysters soggy and fishy. The little girls acted like they were doing me a favor just to get two little packages of lousy cocktail sauce. Rude and the food BAD! Pricey for what you get for sure. Update, I have since found that Mr. Elvis has a REAL Fayard's on Pass Rd. Biloxi, East of Popps Ferry. There's another close to Cedar Lake. The one on Pass is just like the original but have added Chicken and other fried goodies too!

Best poboys! It's in a gas station. There are several locations. They also have good meats to grill and sides.

Good poboys. Soft shell crab and oyster were both delicious. Small seating area.

Every trip, for as many years as I can remember we have made a point to pick up a poboy from Julian Fayards BP.

This time, Rouses seemed a little....what's the word....untidy. It had a weird funk inside that was not food related. I went to the salad bar to make a salad for lunch, and it was disappointing- the lettuce was wilty, the cheeses were hard from sitting out so long, the pasta salads looked close to having dysentery. Everything looked old, like it was at the very end of the time it should be on the table, so I decided against the salad and wound up buying a whole muffuletta to share with my mom and sister. That was just ok, I found it to be very dry. I perused the aisles and bought a few things I cannot get back home in south Florida, including some Hubig's pies for the family, especially my dad who said he loved those as a kid. I was sticker shocked to see that they were almost $3 each! Seems a lot of the prices at Rouses are astronomical compared to Walmart, Aldi and Winn Dixie. The cashier that checked me out was a younger guy who was not pleasant at all. He just stared blankly at me as I tried to greet him. He didn't even offer a "thank you" or "have a nice day." Really disappointing because 99% of the time when I am in Mississippi, people are very friendly, as opposed to south Florida where they're all cranky. Would I go back next time I visit? Probably. Would I buy a lot of stuff? Maybe. Would I visit the salad bar again? Definitely not.
