We basically ordered everything feom their menu and enjoyed most of them. had a lovely time! the waitstaff was super attentive, had the choice to sit inside and outside, and the food was delicious. Our pot of tea was the perfect size for the two of us on a date night. We ordered scallion pancakes, pea shoot dumplings, shrimp shumai, and pork buns. Chamomile tea was delicious and stayed warm, all of the food was quick, and staff checked in on us and made sure everything was okay. My boyfriend and I ordered the pork belly buns ($7.95), traditional three fresh dumplings ($13.95), matcha tiramisu ($6.50), along with a pot of white peach tea ($6.00). Overall, we thought the food lacked flavor and underwhelming. The pork belly buns were fine, but I found myself really relying on the provided dipping sauce for additional flavor. Same can be said about the dumplings where I thought the taste was carried by the chili oil and dipping dumpling sauce. The tea was nice (free refills!) and the tiramisu was fine as well. Wow, what a hidden gem!! Feast is a newer restaurant located on Williamson Street. It has such a cool, zen kind of vibe inside. The ambiance is just wonderful. They also have a cute outdoor patio with heaters for when it's cold, and umbrellas to cover your table when it's sunny. I've had several different drinks and dishes at Feast. There are tons of tea options, appetizers, and kinds of dumplings. I've loved the pork buns, spring rolls, and beef & carrot dumplings. I've had the dumplings steamed and pan fried. Both are delicious!! They also serve the dumplings with 3 different sauces. There's a garlic chili sauce, a vinegar sauce, and their secret dumpling sauce. My favorite is the dumpling sauce because it's sweeter. They are following all safety guidelines and the restaurant is very clean. I feel very safe dining in or eating on the patio. Delicious dumpling house on Willy St! The perfect place for this hidden gem. We loved the pork belly buns and the beef brisket buns (2 per order). The pork and mushroom dumplings pan-fried were also a crowd favorite. And don't skip the rice ahumado filled with stick rice and tasty mushrooms! Such a welcoming and cozy atmosphere. This is one of our favorite spots in Madison to hit for dinner. We have never had a problem getting a table which is surprising because the food and ambiance is delectable. We always get the beef and onion potstickers then switch it up with some other entrees. The bun appetizer is super yummy and the sauce that comes with it is perfection. Their tea options are always something I look forward to! The wait staff is friendly. My only downside is that the stools outside are a bit small so they are not super comfortable for someone with a larger behind. Highly recommend!! read more

LOVED the food. Service was great. They have done a good job decorating the space, but it still seems slightly cold/office space-y (can blame the building architecture). They also had kung fu movies playing at the bar, which detracted from the fine dining experience. The food was fantastic. We ordered pork belly buns, beef brisket buns, shrimp and pork dumplings (steamed), and beef and onion dumplings (fried). The buns melt in your mouth! They were definitely the highlight. I also love that they branded the word FEAST on the bun itself. The dumplings were great too. I preferred the pan fried ones. The food was absolutely incredible! The appetizers blew us away in flavor, presentation, and variety! We ordered the tuna buns, crab rangoon, and scallion pancake. My family and I devoured them, and we joked about just asking for another round of appetizers. However, we ordered dumplings too, and they were also delicious! My personal favorite was the pan-fried pork and shrimp. My dad loved the pan-fried beef and cilantro, and my mom's favorite was the steamed shrimp shumai. We enjoyed the steamed scallop dumplings, but we probably would skip that one next time. I also got one of their cocktails, and it was beautiful and delicious. The restaurant is super cute and well-decorated as well! Where this restaurant lost a point for me was in the service. It was quick and all, but our waiter was just not a very pleasant person. He never said anything to us, and he seemed like every refill was a painful task. My dad ordered a liquor that they didn't have, and his reaction was just fairly rude. Winter things - they have heated, outdoor seating! No igloos or enclosures as far as I'm aware, but my group of five sat outside. We were the only ones who came in for a weekday dinner. Based on our brief time inside, they decorated the inside so beautifully and the ambiance is intimate and warm. I can't wait until we are vaccinated so we can eat inside. I think indoor seating is open with limited capacity. Our waitress was kind, patient, and attentive; service was excellent! We ordered a bunch of dumplings for the table - all were tasty, with options to steam or pan-fry (we went by the recommendations of our waitress). The homemade shrimp chips that are complementary are also excellent. I had never had the scallop dumplings and those were tasty steamed! It wasn't fishy tasting at all (as scallops can be when they're not fresh). We also ordered the beef and daikon, rice siumai, and the pork and mushroom dumplings as well. While it is more expensive than what I was expecting to pay for dumplings (used to dimsum portions and prices in Chicago), I think the ambiance, quality, and freshness certainly outweighs that and that Feast is worth taking a visit if you are looking to try a new restaurant in Madison that fills its own niche. read more

This is the trashiest place I have ever been to in my life. Walked in 6:40pm, tell us to leave phone number and wait about 40-1h, waited 1 hour, no calls received yet, walked in again to ask, and they said they forget to call and bring us to seat. Sat down, waited 20mins for someone to take our order, waited another 40mins to get appetizer, I ordered 4 sets of Xiao Long Bao and they only bring up one and said they cannot do 4 for a table. My friend and I had a lovely meal at Feast on a Thursday night. It was relatively quiet, and our server was very attentive and friendly. I thought the actual restaurant space was very warm and inviting and would make me want to come back again. I started with the Calpis Shocking house cocktail- it was delicious and I would definitely order it again. My friend and I split the scallion pancake as our appetizer- it was my favorite bite of the meal and I would order it every time I come here. We ordered 2 orders of dumplings- the traditional and the pork/mushroom and had both sets fried. They came with 2 dipping sauces, one of which was mild and the other had a little heat. I liked both sets of dumplings- but liked the traditional a bit more. If I came here again I think I would order a set steamed and fried so I could compare. I really wanted to love this meal. Really I did. 2 different dumpling orders, an order of pork buns, and an order of garlic edamame. The dumplings were fine. But just fine. They weren't distinctive in taste and yet were tasty nonetheless. They didn't shout out but they didn't suck either. They were muddled in flavor. The pork bun was about the same - I have had better - I have had worse. Nothing outstanding but nothing horrible. The Edamame was a disaster. Completely undercooked to the point that it was inedible - seasoned well with garlic but so raw that it was unpalatable. I literally stopped eating after the first serving. This lost a star or two right off the bat. Overall I hoped for more flavor. More spice. It may be Southern Wisconsin but we're not completely tone def. Had a peach tea was tasty and the 3 ingredients Dumplings small but good pan fried or steamed the fried dumplings get a odd crunchy cracker like topping over them.Waitress was nice and served us well. Pork buns were great and cut in half each and brand marked with their restaurant name. We've been so excited for Feast since they announced that they were opening and they absolutely delivered the first time around! We got the lobster rangoon; two orders of the shrimp, pork, and cabbage dumplings (boiled and fried); and shrimp har gow. The boiled dumplings were good, the fried stuff was decent and we imagine it's better dining in (we got carryout), but the har gow was the star of the show. I tried the scallion pancakes (a little doughy, but very close to perfect flavor-wise) and ahi tuna buns (10/10) for apps.
