I have been coming to the Feather River Senior Center since 1999 and I have known Mary since 1980. She is the EPITOME of professionalism! She treats everyone fair, with class and dignity. The members are all AWESOME TOO! I help with BINGO every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, it is a BLAST! Anyone over 18 can come and play! Membership is OPEN to all as well and the annual dues are just $25.00, yeah that's right! I can't imagine anyone being anything but WELCOME here! How Horribly they treat Disabled Combat Vetetans! And dues paying members. I am 68 years old, 100% disabled due PTSD, over 7 years of Honorable service, as a US Marine, to our Wonderful country. Showed up for a Peach of Mind seminar. I had mentioned my service dog to the mgr, Mary b4 n didn't seem to be an issue. Was socializing n meeting people, you can't imagine how difficult this is for me. Met Bonnie, Ron and Peggy and we were just hanging out together. Next thing I know, Mary approaches me and ask me for my "Certificate" for my service dog. I replied there are no such thing but told her I would leave immediately. I started to gather my things when this other woman came right up to me, got in my face, and hollered at me, inches from my face, WHERE'S YOUR CERTIFICATE?" OK, now we have a Triggered Vet, very Not good!!! I told her to get away from me as I was leaving. I was standing gathering my things. The Federal government says specifically on their ADA website that they do not offer or require ANY Certification!!! They go on to say, others offering Service Dog "Certification" are not VALID!! Guess, "Thank you for putting your life on the line for our freedom and way of life", would have felt better." read more
