The company repeatedly delayed the project and ultimately failed to start any work. Under the terms of the contract, we were entitled to a full refund if the work was not started within three months. In August 2025, we requested our refund, and the company confirmed in writing that it would be returned. We were later told by phone that payment would be issued within 45 days. Despite multiple follow-ups and a BBB complaint, we have not received the promised refund. The company advised the BBB that a cheque had been sent, but no cheque was ever received. More than a year later, we are still waiting for the return of our deposit. Our experience was marked by missed commitments, poor communication, and a failure to honor the agreed refund terms.

They were very good with the quote,…read morebreaking it down for my mother, they started the work earlier then they originally told her and had the work completed early. I went to check and make sure that everything was completed as promised and noticed that the flashing around the chimney did not look good. My husband called Kurt who took a while to return his call and told my husband that he did not get the pictures we sent. Kurt told my husband that they don't include masonary flashing in the quote even though the quote says flashing is included and does not say that masonary (chimney) flashing is excluded. My husband was then referred to the owner. The owner confirmed that the masonary flashing is not included but said they would fix it. He also mentioned that myself or my mother had referred to the house as a tear down and that my mother would likely only live in the house for another 5 years at most. We showed the pictures to another roofing company that confirmed the roof would leak the way the flashing was left. Someone came by and did some work on the roof, they did not let my mother know they were there. They came by more then once to complete the work but it still did not seem to be done as well as we felt it should be. The house was well over 10-years old, so there was no way around it. Our roof needed to be replaced. So we did our due diligence and gathered quotes, and decided to go with JDM. Their quote was very competitive, but the actual service they delivered was worth more than they charged. Jim (the owner) and his crew was very busy, but they fit us in because our roof really was starting to fall apart. They literally started our roof after a neighbour began their roof replacement using a competitor, and JDM finished before them. And they didn't rush the job. They started at a reasonably early hour and stayed as late as they safely could. When it was done, not only did their lead roofer inspect the job, but Jim himself came by and inspected it as well. They cleaned up everything really well. I couldn't find a single nail anywhere around our house from the old roof, which was important because we have several small dogs that we love dearly, but are so daft because they try and swallow anything and everything. JDM obviously take pride in their work, and their many 5-star reviews on Google (and now here) are well earned. Cannot recommend them highly enough! Great work, great price, great service.

They left nails tools scrap metal cigarette butts all over the yard and I as a customer had to clean up for them as he couldn't come back for a week to clean up. They also broke siding and I had to argue and show him before and after pictures to prove to him it was his crew that broke it and left the broken stuff laying out in my yard. He was rude and never even apologized for his mistakes. Took a month to get what he said would be a three day job done and I will still need to replace the siding on my own as he just screwed in some metal flashing with a couple screws that will probably fall out if there is any wind.
