So there was a May Day festival going on the two days we were in Frankfurt which was amazing…read morebecause it meant loads of outdoor street vendors, including this shop which had set up an outdoor sausage tent. I'm not sure if they always have an outdoor option, but they did the night we walked by and I'm sure glad we stopped. Now, first of all I was lured in by the smells of brats cooking, then hooked by the sight of them. Once I saw they also had beer on tap I was sold. I was a bit nervous because I literally speak no German, but I was assisted by a friendly local in line and then found out that the staff all speaks fluent English, and is actually insanely friendly. After some chatting I got what I was looking for which was a brat, some fries, and a solid German beer. Overall the brat was amazing, in part due to the homemade bun, and the beer was thirst quenching. The fries were actually really basic and nothing to write home about, but I'm landing on five stars for this place because I did not find any servers that were more friendly than the folks working at this sausage stand, and I'd absolutely recommend going back to this place if you're looking for a satisfying and affordable meal in Frankfurt.

Had a Frankfurt style bratwurst there, and was pleased with it. The location isin the…read moreLiebfrauenberg plaza, so it was a good place to get some food and rest. Since it was a nice day, decided to eat outside. Not too shabby.

It has a ton of food from Asia, the Middle East, and even the Caribbean. I felt like I was in Toronto! I saw a bottle of chrysanthemum tea drink and got it. The cashier was friendly and helpful as I continued to figure out how to use Euros. I love the selection of foods. I wasn't hungry. Otherwise, I would have had a samosa or more! (2)

The market has a very Indian focus, but also carries a variety of goods from the Caribbean, Asia, and the Middle East. You can get cheap young coconuts, amla berries, avocados, and even fresh curry leaves (which are surprisingly difficult to find in Frankfurt) here. But be aware- the curry leaves go fast once a shipment arrives! I stock up on them and freeze them when I can find them. If you're carrying other bags into Spicelands, you must leave them at the front counter. Not really a surprise given the area of the city the shop is in, but this may be a nuisance to many customers. Try to make Spicelands your first stop on your shopping around town if possible! Not only does Spicelands carry every spice you could possibly need (seriously never go to Rewe to buy overpriced spices... go here!), they also sell incense, Indian cooking accessories, and beers from all around the world. If you can't find something in Spicelands, just ask the staff and they will helpfully assist you or let you know where you can get it or tell you when the next order will arrive.

In fact a fourth generation Baker, great-grandfather Georg having originally opened shop in 1907 before moving to the current location, those interested in Konditorei & Confiserie Jamin's goods will find the Café open Monday through Saturday from 10h00, a lack of Breads or Viennoiserie placing them in a different category than nearby competition including the likes of Huck and Eifler. Long and narrow in terms of size, Pralines plus packaged Confections up front and Cakes lining a case in back, it is largely on German tradition that Cathérine's current collection is focused, 3-5€ each first yielding a dense slice of Spice Cake punctuated by Sour Cherries that serves equally good as Dessert as it would for Breakfast alongside a cup of Coffee. Allowing next for Austrian influence, genrous wedges of Sacher Torte for just 4.10€ dazzling with reflective Milk Chocolate Ganache and Apricot Jam brightening a Dark Chocolate Sponge, it seemed only right to finish with Jamin's take on Black Forest Cake, the individual rounds decorated in Cocoa shavings potentially Frankfurt's best rendition thanks to boozy Fruit that celebrates the Kirsch part of Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte.
