Friendly people, God Honoring Music, and Truthful Preaching from the Word of God with a focus on helping families and individuals. It is a church that feels like church. You won't mistake it for a rock concert, a self-help seminar, or a social group meeting. It feels like Church because that's exactly what it is. If you are looking for an extremely welcoming environment to grow spiritually we would feel privileged to have you visit us.

For example, a small percentage of the congregation raises their hands during worship. (I have not heard anyone speak in tongues, but there are probably some there who do.) I would say that 90% of attendees/members range in age from 18-30. So, the praise and worship music is contemporary. The worship team rotates musicians and singers in and out every so often, and I think that is excellent because it gives more people opportunities to serve. They all do fantastic jobs. The pastor is excellent. His Biblical messages are well-organized and thought out. Sometimes he uses unconventional methods to get his points across. I think this is very effective with a young congregation. During the school year, services are PACKED. So, get there early.

There was a dedicated pastor and a youth minister that had more youth on Wednesday night than we had altogether on Sunday morning. It was a shock to me and other members when the youth minister was arrested. That was the first any of us had of his alleged problem. To say that "church officials do nothing," suggests that the church officials knew about his alleged problem. That is not true as far as I can determine. If Matt M. knows more about it than I do, I would like to hear from him. It is not fair that he paint the good people of Clayton Avenue Baptist Church with the brush of suppositions.

Amazing Architecture! This church was built by Slavic immigrants who traveled to the area in the…read morelate 1800's to work in the coal mines. One of whom was my grandfather. At one time over 500 parishioners attended services here regularly. My family included. The church is a reminder of the impact of coal mining on Oklahoma and our states diverse religious and ethnic heritage. It is still open today and is recognized by the Oklahoma Historical Society.
