I have started my own construction company and am building my first spec home. I'm been checking out suppliers. I know some places require appointments, but I stop in first to see if I'm even interested in making an appointment and wasting either my time or the salesperson. So, when I stopped in Ferguson's and asked to speak to a salesperson to get information and was wanting to find out what their general contractor's discount was, I was told that I needed an appointment which was no big deal. I asked when the next opening was and was begrudingly told by the receptionist (Carrie, I believe was her name) that she could put me on the wait list. I said yes, please do and I would take some time and walk around while I waited. Carrie was very rude and questioned me as to what "I do". I replied I am a general contractor as I already said. She then asks me again that I have my own company. Would you like to see my EIN documentation? My articles of incorportation? I assume it was because I am a woman that this little girl doubted my sincerity. Whatever her reasons, I didn't realize it was necessary to provide a credit application before even meeting with a sales person. I wish I had some way of conveying how rude and condescending this receptionist was. 30-45 minutes later, after meandering through the whole store, I make my way up front to ask Carrie if she had an update for me on if there would be anyone available. Her response was, once again disdainfully to offer to put me on the waitlist. Wait...what?!?!? Did we not establish this 30-45 minutes ago and what I was wandering around waiting for?!?! She said she could go ahead and add me now? She never offered me one bit of information, offered to make me an appointment at another time, asked to see how long a wait might be, apologized for not putting me down 30-45 minutes ago.... She did manage to make endless amounts of scrunched up rude faces at me. I chose to leave and will not be returning. read more

Despite some negative reviews here in Yelp, we are really glad we went to Ferguson for our new-construction needs. Alisa was not only great about hearing our needs and making recommendations, but she has also been fantastic with her follow-ups on our project. If you want to go to the showroom, either make an appointment early for a weekday visit, or make sure you are the first in line when they unlock the doors for the weekend. (We did the latter.) I think most negative reviews come from people who didn't know to do this and got frustrated because it was hard to get help when they tried an unplanned visit. read more

I stopped in to buy a replacement "instant hot" faucet for my kitchen sink. I was referred to Jesse Liden who showed me what they have & said there are other options that he could order for me. He was courteous, quick & provided great customer service. We ended up ordering one & it was shipped to my house within 2 days. I left knowing only one thing, Geri is not their top sales person. Worst experience in our home building experience. Our "sales associate" Geri was about as rude and unhelpful as I've ever experienced. The other vendors we used for flooring, lighting, and counters had great sales people. Not the case at Ferguson. Maybe it was because we are young, or maybe it was because we were dressed casual, but I guarantee if Geri knew our kitchen, bath, and appliance budget was over $50,000 we would have been treated better. It makes me happy to now be spending my hard earned money with another vendor. Our builder was able to recommend a different vendor who treated us like they appreciated our business. read more

Great selection, but if you are a do-it-yourselfer like me who buys $1000 faucets don't count on accurate parts support when something goes wrong. Case in point: Tried to replace a kitchen sprayer on a German faucet and after 3 tries on different hoses, found out they were giving me the wrong hose each and every time. A month of this madness with blank stares and no apologies. Finally went to Jesco and got what I needed for $25.00. Ferg sold me a $90 spray hose which was for the faucet not the separate hand held one. Borderline idiots in the parts department. They are very friendly, but I'm not looking for friendly when I buy a part I'm looking for knowledgable which is sorely lacking there. Felt completely, and utterly HOSED! read more

If you've been shopping at Home Depot or Lowes, expect a different experience in this showroom. The person at the front desk was nice and helpful, as she could be. We did not experience any of the nastiness that other reviewers had. We called first, but no one answered the phone and it took like 20 rings to roll over to voicemail, which I didn't leave. Based on the comments about the south Austin store, we called the Round Rock location and although the sales guy was nice and helpful - as we had some specific needs for the bathtub, they don't have a showroom in the RR location, only south (a 25 mile drive). Since they are so elusive at their store about appointments and which location is their showroom, it would have been helpful to see this information on their website before we headed out. When we entered, the front desk person told us where to look for fixtures, organized by company. She said we'd have to make an appointment to get any pricing or any additional information and she was right! There are hardly any of the prices listed on the displays and a lot of times no names, so you can't even look for available finishes or the different collections on your own on the internet or at other stores...my guess that's their strategy for some high pressure sales opportunities. We liked a few things, but nothing blew our socks off. So, we didn't follow through with any kind of appointment. After that we went to Josco's on N Lamar and they were friendly and helpful. They have a similar strategy with appointments, etc. We told them what we wanted and they agreed to send us quotes via email today. read more

We have been without a hot water heater for over a week through Thansgiving. We thought it was because of the plumber we used until I personally called Fergusons to get the part we needed. I was assured it would be at the store the next morning. When I got there they said nope it's at our Round Rock store. I asked how we could expedite getting the part but they could not be bothered. Still no hot water. Thanks Fergusons for the outstanding customer service. This is my third time working with you and the two other times were equally frustrating. This is my first review. read more

My experience at Ferguson was so sad it's hard to even give it 2 stars. I will say they have a large showroom with many products on display which is nice. I went into the showroom about 30-45 minutes before they closed after leaving work early to get there. I was in a rush to get a bathtub for my bathroom renovation that was already in progress and had a last minute change. The girl at the front promptly informed me that they closed soon. I told her I was looking for a tub I could rush order and she told me I was welcome to look around but offered no other information. There were multiple designers/salespeople sitting at their desks who hardly even acknowledged me. I asked about pricing and they told me I should just look on their website. The whole experience made me feel terrible. I will never go back there. read more

I wanted a new sink and wanted it 18 gauge stainless steel, in a single basin. Only way to get one at Lowe's or Home Depot was Special Order, which means, you never know when it's going to arrive (been there done that, was promised an item to "be here tomorrow" for over 3 weeks).... I asked Scott Simmons, the owner of Angus Plumbing 512 423-0903, he said, "do it the old fashioned way, like we did before the Big Box stores came to Austin... call and go over to Ferguson!" Bingo, that is who my Mom and Dad have used for years, as I was born and raised here in Austin. When I called Ferguson, I spoke to Geri Denease. She took down what I was looking for and what my budget was. She arranged and appointment to meet with me. When I got there she had used my information and had sinks and faucets to show me and told me pros and cons to each of them. Geri Denease had listened to me! She heard that I was just changing the sink at this time and I planned to upgrade the counter tops in the next couple of years. So she recommended sinks that can both dropped in and under mounted. So for now it's dropped in and later it will be under mounted when I buy the new counter tops. Of the 3 sinks I liked, 2 were a 5 day wait, but one was in their warehouse and could be picked up in Round Rock the next day. Yes - in ONE DAY! I ordered the Kohler 18 gauge sink, a Pro-750 garbage disposer and a faucet. The next afternoon I picked up my order in Round Rock, right off I-35, who can beat that? I called Angus Plumbing and set my installation for Thursday! Because of Ferguson and their showroom, and warehouse supply system, and reasonable prices, In less than a week, I had my project finished. Thank you Geri Denease, I love my new sink! and you kept me in my budget! read more

I was pleasantly AMAZED by the service and the quick ability to process and receive my order with Ferguson. I have been to other places in town and was turned off by their 3-week delay between placing and order and receiving. Derek is the manager and personally helped me pick out the finish out for our bathroom remodel. I expressed my urgency to achieve this goal and he dedicated two hours with me while his floor reps were in a training. (I went first thing in the morning.) He quickly picked up on my style and budget, sat me down in his office to build my bid, and had me walking out with the most important pieces for our project (shower valves) and assured me the order will be in by the end of the week. Moreover, Wayne is a lighting expert, and came in to assist with mirrors and lighting for the room. I felt so dedicated to and taken care of. I will surely go back to them when we remodel our guest bath and kitchen! Please note: It is recommended to make an appointment if you have a big project to tackle. But don't let that stop you from going in and seeing if you can get your goal tackled without one. read more

I went to this place TWICE in the last two weeks looking for a residential water heater thermometer control unit. My wife had previously called, given the guy she talked to a part number, and he replied that they had five of those units. On my first trip, one of the guys talked me out of getting it thinking that the part would not fix my water heater issue. In my heart, I thought he was wrong, but I went with his expertise. After talking to a licensed plumber that's a friend, he had me go back and get that part. Well, on this second trip, the guys there were either tired and didn't want to deal with anyone or something, because they were rude. I told the guy what I needed. He said that their part wouldn't work for me. After trying to convince them that my wife had previously called and was told that they had the part I needed, all of a sudden, the computer to look up the part wasn't registering the part number. Another guy chimed in, while I was asking why I couldn't just look at the part and tell them if it's what I needed, and was saying that they have no problem selling us a part that I don't need, but that would be up to me. Totally unnecessary. I even called my licensed plumber friend on the phone while still there, and he got fed up trying to hear their excuses why I didn't need their part. I just went ahead and left and called Whirlpool to order the Honeywell part directly from them. It worked perfectly. And, it was the same part that I could have gotten from Ferguson. My plumber friend even said that they can be "****heads" to deal with. I won't ever use (or try to use, in this case) them, again! The reason that I gave them one star is because I couldn't give NO STARS. read more

I placed a sizable order including washer and dryer, freestanding tub, gas downdraft cooktop and built-in microwave. There were a couple of hiccups with my orders but found that the inside sales rep Dallas (not really my salesperson) was top notch and she resolved the issues. I am very dissatisfied with my experience with Ferguson in Austin. I bought a large Big Green Egg from them the day before Father's Day as a gift for my husband, and when we went to put it together they had neglected to give us a part necessary to use it. When I bought the Egg they sold me and charged for an accessory they did not actually have in stock and due to their billing practices they were unable to refund me for this item. Rather, I have to wait for them to bill me and they ensure they actually refund me. This makes me nervous given my experience with them thus far. Jesse Liden at Ferguson is an absolute superstar! They are so lucky to have him! Not only does he have outstanding taste but he delivers the best customer service I've ever experienced. EVER! Renovating a home down to the studs is an unbelievably stressful experience, to say the least. But everytime I visited the showroom and spent time planning my design with Jesse - the stress melted away. He made the painful process so much fun and he became a friend along the way. His warm nature and design intuition seemed to make me feel at ease. I created my entire home with Jesse - the plumbing fixtures, lighting plan, and appliances. He was particularly helpful in the appliance selection process, saving us money and offering his honest opinion along the way. It goes without saying that I highly recommend Jesse. I've worked with Ferguson on two projects so far, and I've been very pleased. I called to make an appointment, was scheduled with Jesse the next day, and showed up about 10 minutes late for my appointment, but I did call on my way and say I would be late. Jesse was very efficient and pleasant to work with and kept my budget in mind. I picked up the shower valves right then and will pick up the rest when I'm closer to needing it. I feel like they have a great selection for bathrooms. I do strongly recommend that you browse their website first to narrow things down a little. I went in looking for some specifics help with some brass washers and you'd thought I'd asked for the moon. Sorry in advance for the long-winded review, but this has been the most painful process I have ever experienced! Where do I begin? On June 11, 2018 my wife and I go into the Katy, TX showroom looking for a replacement vent hood. We selected the same brand as the one that was in the kitchen prior thinking that it should be a fairly easy process to get it installed. Ferguson's process for this goes as follows: 1)you pick out what you want and then pay for it, 2)wait for the item to ship - and during this period the store sends someone to your house to measure where the item goes making sure what you purchased will fit and if any other prep work needs to be done prior to installation, 3)once the item arrives, they call you to setup a delivery time and an installation time (these are 2 different people). Sounds easy right? Not hardly. It took a month for our vent hood to arrive at the store to be delivered. During this time the guy came out and measured and everything was in order for the installation, or so we thought. It was mid to late July when we finally took delivery of our vent hood (we were not at home the first time they came, then the truck broke down the next time, etc..). When the installer came, it was discovered that the outlet needed to be moved and they don't do that kind of thing (This should have been noticed during the initial measuring phase, right?). So we had to get an electrician to come move the outlet. Another 2 weeks, and we get the installer back out. It was then discovered that the cover for the pipe going up to the ceiling was not long enough and we needed to purchase an extension (Again, I thought this would have been discovered during the initial measuring phase). While he is at the house the installer tells me that he has called Ferguson and placed the order for the extension and when it comes in the store will call me to set up a time for delivery. After about 2 weeks I haven't heard anything, so I call the sales guy who sold us the vent hood. He tells me that he sees that "Yes, we do need an extension". Apparently the order was never placed for the extension. Just to make sure we get the right one he has me measure the height of my ceiling (Again, I thought this would have been done during the initial measuring phase). About a week goes by and the extension comes in and the installer comes over to finish up the install. At this point I'm thinking this is finally over and I don't have to deal with the vent hood anymore. The installer shows up and doesn't even have a ladder, so he has to borrow one of mine. He gets up there and then discovers that in order to hang it correctly he will have to cut away a big chunk of crown molding on either side in order to attach it to the bracket. Why was I not told about this at the beginning? Just so I don't have to deal with this company and their incompetency, I am going to finish this up myself. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!! read more

He was very professional and knowledgeable and his demeanor was easy going, which made us feel as though we were not in a pressure packed situation. The woman at the front counter has a horrible attitude. Maybe it was a bad day; but, as the initial face of the company, she should at least return a smile and answer reasonable questions without acting like a customer is inconveniencing you. Dead eyes and 1-2 word answers do not make someone feel welcomed or comfortable. I spent an hour in the store (mostly waiting for assistance since I didn't make an appointment --if you go to this store, make sure to make an appointment). The woman I ultimately worked with was aloof though admittedly helpful, but i still left the store feeling uninterested in supporting the business. The woman behind the counter actually made me feel like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman when she first goes clothes shopping. I imagined yelling, "Big mistake!" as I left! There are many other great bathroom/kitchen businesses/people in Austin!! Just my opinion, but it seems others have had similar experiences! read more

I don't get the Ferguson model, especially in this economic climate. My contractor suggest I go there to pick out two sinks and faucets for our remodeling project. When I arrived, the "receptionist" in the entry foyer sits behind a tall desk, and reluctantly (both times I had to go there) looks up and instead of welcome says "Do you have an appointment?". No, I didn't. Like most consumers, I had done my homework on line and just wanted some help in finalizing my decision after I touched and handled the fixtures. I was told, "I guess then you can just walk around on your own." I wastreated like a panhandler and wandered around the showroom, where unoccupied sales people were noodling on their computers. This was such a big turn off! Unfortunately, I could not find the faucets I wanted at the other plumbing store (Strangely, Austin has relatively few selections), and so I had to return. This time I called ahead to get an appointment with the person who had worked with my contractor, but she never called me back. Finally, I did get a call (Fergusons is not in a location that is convenient to me, so I was trying to coordinate my drive south) from someone who told me "You are lucky I could fit you in." This was from a person who had a diploma at her desk recognizing her as a "Graduate of Showerology". This burned me up, even though I had to cave and buy from them (and we're talking $500 per faucet set) so as not to slow down the flow of construction. How they can treat you like they are doing you a favor to take your money I will never know. If there had been any other options (the big box stores did not have what I wanted), I would have gone there in a heartbeat. read more
