And great coffee!!! The room was perfect and clean and we slept like babies on the bed. If you're in Heidelberg, you can not go wrong with this place. We stay at hotels all over the place and this was a 5 star experience worth the time to actually post a review. And for a very very fair price!

They have a small gym behind the hotel, which has decent equipment and also great views of the city. This place is extremely walkable as well. You can walk out the door and be in old town or any of the famous sites in town in less than 10 minutes. A few touches were lacking, ie white cloth vs paper napkin and coffee was not refilled. So that was the good, now for the bad... Wifi was spotty as best with limited bandwidth. So do not expect to do any work at the hotel. No AC in the hotel, so I bet summer here would be brutal. The bathroom was a Bath Room. There was no curtain to take a shower. Now for the ugly, the wall is super thin and the adjacent room would bang on the wall at 9:00 pm requesting slient!! I came back on a Sunday night at 10:15 pm and the front lobby and front door was locked. Luckily they did show me a back entrance for night entry. However, as I enter the room my lovely neighbor was banging already. I guess it is too loud to even enter the room....

The Belvedere restaurant on the premises is quite elegant, I had dinner there twice. The neighborhood is home to many of the wealthy and upscale residents of Bruschal. The hotel offers a very nice breakfast, and the attached restaurant had very good food and friendly service. I walked from the hotel into town (many, many stairs down the side of the hill!) to shop and see the schloss, as well as to the train station. As Stephen Wright said, everything is in walking distance if you have enough time. I would not recommend walking to or from the train station with luggage...it's a bit too far for that.

A nice selection of breads, cheeses, and meats with eggs available. You can get a custom coffee if you want. The hotel restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, covered for the rain or sun. It's a hotel without a lift and the rooms are on the second floor with steep narrow staircase. It's a hotel where there is tiny reception and it's closed most of the time until you ring the doorbell. There is also no parking here and there is a car park very close by you can use. I really enjoyed my stay here and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. I would come back here any day.
