The in hotel breakfast is wonderful and worth the price. However the front desk staff consists of young ladies hired for their looks. They were inattentive, offered no suggestions or advice. I asked one desk clerk how far the Hofbrauhaus was and she looked at me (while reapplying her lipstick) and said, "which one, there are many in Munich". Seriously? Then she explained that none of the desk ladies are German, so they shouldn't be expected to know such things. We asked for directions to the train station and we were quickly shown a tiny map on one of the ladies's cell phone. Utterly useless.

SERVICE: In the lobby, they offer apples, water, and candy, which sounds basic but is really quite a nice, refreshing touch. Plus, there's free water in the rooms--and I'm cheap and like free things, or even "free" things. The concierge is nice and helpful, as they should be. ROOMS: Beds are small and the linens are not top quality, but the rooms are clean and spacious enough. My biggest complaint about this place would be that it can get quite warm in the rooms, and the a/c, as far as I could tell, is an open window. The open window method, while better for the environment, can be problematic because the traffic just outside the Windows is oddly noisy. So, my travel buddy/roommate needed to keep the window shut--rather stuffy!!

I am a very experienced traveler in developed and undeveloped countries with experiences from hostels to Ritz Carltons, and this is the second bad review I've written about ANYTHING: I'd say this was the worst hotel I've stayed at in years. It looks like a value but don't be fooled. There are plenty of hotels in Munich; I strongly suggest you choose another from a different chain.

The U bahn train station is right outside. The room is very small and feels like a cruise ship cabin. There is no air conditioning and we stayed during Oktoberfest with mid 50s weather and could only crack the window which still was stuffy and warm at night. The bed is VERY UNCOMFORTABLE and the mattress was about 3 inches thick. There is a cheap plastic chair, not a comfortable sitting chair. The WIFI has to be paid for after 24 hours. There is not an in room safe, you must leave with the front desk. The staff was marginally helpful. We were given a room that overlooked the back but had noisy construction starting at 7 AM without any fore-warning (our reservation had been booked for 6 months in advance). I would not stay here again.

We ended our trip back here and were able to take the train for day trips to Grimalsh as well as Würzburg and Bamberg. We had an inside room number 309. We were concerned about construction going on outside, but we never heard a thing. We keep our windows open at night and turn off the heat. The suite we were upgraded to was very nice with a living area with a large TV and a TV on the bedroom side. There was a breakfast, about 20 euro per person however we skipped that and just went to the market to get coffee and fruit. There's also free coffee downstairs you can take back up to your room. Highly recommend very beautiful hotel, and very comfortable mattress.

They truly wanted your stay to be as great as they can make it. We checked in our bags before our room was ready and they brought the bags up there for us, printed my tickets for me, and gave us a free drink (every stay comes with a complimentary drink at their bar). Beds were comfy, rooms come with a heater and ac and German and English instructions on how to use them. Coffee, tea, and water were 24/7 complimentary. Rooms come with a hair dryer with a diffuser for the curly hair people reading.

There are a few decent restaurants around. The staff is nice and mostly accommodating. They also have a good breakfast. My biggest complaint is that despite the price we paid for the hotel, it did not have air conditioning in the rooms. Being so close to the Oktoberfest grounds, it gets extremely noisy at night and hot, so you have no choice but to keep your windows open. You will hear people partying and sirens all night long. Also, although the bar is a lot of fun and tons of people come into it, if your room is located any where near the bar you will hear it as well.
