We set up our picnic rug under the shade of some trees. Even though it was a hot day there was lots of space. The grounds/grass was clean, the pool was clean and the bathrooms were also clean. We were able to cool off in the pool then relax poolside and read. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the patrons were also friendly. The entry price was cheap compared to the city. There are trees on the grounds but also lots of trees nearby. We could hear the kookaburras laughing nearby-definitely a relaxing nature sound. Recommend the pool if you are in the area.

The park is vast considering it's a such a small community so there's plenty of space for everyone. There's undercover tables and barbeques available and there were a lot of people coming down to utilise this space for an early Sunday dinner after a session at the local pool. The kids are covered too with an excellent play area with equipment catering to a broad age range and lots of seating under shady trees around it so parents can comfortably supervise. I definitely need to utilise this beautiful space more often.

This park certainly adds a huge amount of greenery to the centre of Bendigo. In fact it is a lovely…read morepark in which to walk around, with lots of trees, lots of facilities and shelters, and a lovely garden that heads up to a poppet head. Mind you, I suspect that the hill was actually once a slag heap but has since been turned into a major park, and they certainly have done quite a good job at it as well. Then again, the mines have been sitting dormant for ages, so time certainly does heal a lot of wounds.

The gardens are actually quite nice, and they are certainly a lovely place to wander around. Mind you, it also happens to be a shrine of sorts, though I don't believe that it is an active one. Rather, it is a garden that has been set up to mimic the gardens one would find back in China. It certainly does have a lot to do with there having once been a huge Chinese population here. Yeah, this garden is rather rather nice and peaceful, and it is certainly a place to check out.

We golfed the back nine and enjoyed our round of golf as the fairways are nicely sodded and picturesque and the greens were stellar, but no kangaroos. When we came into the clubhouse for our post-round beers, Glenn (the course manager) took us back out to the course and pointed out a herd of 'roos. The man went above and beyond and made our day. Go golf this fun legit 18 hole golf course and say hi to one of the nicest Aussies and that is saying something.
