Been a few times. The ferris wheel is a nice touch. This time, we got to catch some live music. Thank you KXT for the heads up. Food is always solid. Big open bar to place an order. There are also QR codes - to assist. Service was fast. When a concert isn't in session, there's plenty of life size games - ie Jenga and corn hole. Vibe was chill. Plenty of parking in the lot.

I should open with BBQ places are not always my thing since I don't eat beef or port. Alright, yes, that's a horrible thing in TX, but the group I was with wanted BBQ and since I'll eat chicken or turkey I figured why not. Well, while they had turkey on the menu they were apparently out of it for the day - which was pretty odd given we were there early, but ok. So that was the start, then they kindly(?) informed me that they would have it tomorrow, well sure, fine, but also not helpful given I"m there tonight. This left me somewhat puzzled, and so my next approach to the menu was "do you have the chicken wings today then?" and they said yes. Ok, great, I can do that - I tried to ask if they were enough food for a meal since they were listed as an appetizer and just got a confused look. I gave up and ordered them anyway. It turns out they were plenty of food and pretty tasty. The meat tasted smoked. My colleagues thought their meals were decent but perhaps not as exciting as they were expecting. Perhaps I threw the server for a loop when I told her I didn't eat pork or beef or she was having an off night. Anyway, I'm not sure I'd be back without checking to see if they had turkey first!

The meal was consistent, flavors mild, service friendly. A fair experience worth three stars.

I am going to start this review with the premise that they REALLY need to fix this place up. The outside looks TERRIBLE. And the inside lacked a lot. We were the first customer's on a Saturday morning around 11:15 and the trash can flap was still covered with BBQ sauce and whatever else from previous days. Everything else seemed "clean" but they need to make some improvements. My husband got a pulled pork sandwich with potato salad and beans. I got a brisket sandwich and their mac and cheese. We had seen Ferris Wheelers recommended on some top dallas list and decided to give it a shot. The mac and cheese was excellent. The brisket sandwich was good, pulled pork- eh. But overall, it was pretty forgettable. The banana pudding was terrible, don't bother.

While staying nearby I wanted to ensure I enjoyed some TX BBQ while I was still in Texas, so I checked reviews and came here. Service was very friendly. The selection is typical of most Texas BBQ joints, both the proteins and the sides. The gimmick here is the yard out back with the Farris wheel, but the reviews also indicated that the BBQ was pretty good too. The brisket had an amazing bark... nice flavors, definitely seemed like just salt & pepper. It was moist and perfectly smoked as well. The sausage was more like a fat hot dog, not very smokey either and on the bland side for a TX smoked jalapeno sausage. The pork was outstanding! Moist, very flavorful and nicely smoked - Definitely enjoyed it! Regarding the sides, the fried okra was decent, the potato salad had a decent flavor but the textures, the huge chunks of potatoes, and the lack of the sauce melding properly with the potatoes really left a lot to be desired. The beans were incredible! Nice, smoky, meaty, and tasty! The mac & cheese looked good, but I didn't try it, my friends did and they really enjoyed it. Their sauces weren't very good... not bad at all, just bland, no heat also. I think one was mustard in style. Overall, not a bad visit. As you'll see from the pic, we tried a large assortment of everything and it was definitely enough to feed 4 - 5 people. In our case we were a part of 3 and there were lots of leftovers. In all, this entire meal came out to about $115, which was a great deal too.

Great service and cool vibes on the patio, but the barbecue was lacking. The green beans had a weird seasoning and they were spicy, which was offputting. The sausage was alright, not much flavor. Lastly, the pulled pork was probably the best out of the entire meal. Also, got to try the mac and it was pretty dry and there wasn't much flavor.

I am glad to have visited this spot, after watching BBQuest. This place looks western classic while fun outside! The brisket was nicely juicy and with flavor, yet I wish I tasted more smoke burn flavor. Service was fast and nice! I only wish for staff to have a little more smile and not be on their phones. If I have a chance to come back, I would probably join solely for the night fun and dinner outside.

Everything was just right! Service, portions, and atmosphere! Great tasting food with a chill relaxing atmosphere on the picnic tables just like in the backyard! Felt right at home! Big thick ribs, fall apart brisket and the brat was so juicy just the right amount of sweet and heat! Come here you won't be disappointed, Your welcome!!!!

Cute spot dowtown Dallas. Pretty good portion sizez. Brisket in sandwich was a little colder than I would like. Fries with queso were bomb. Was too full to eat all of my salad, but their dressing was so good.

Great for lunch before hitting the boat show at Market Hall. Really good food. Our table had chopped brisket, jalapeño sausage, and pulled pork. The pickles on the tray were slappin'! Elotes, fried okra, ranch beans, and waffle fries. Hits were the smoked turkey and fried okra. All was very good. Staff was friendly and served us up quickly and accurately.

In town for a Dallas weekend so of course I had to do BBQ. Ferris Wheeler is located in the middle of Market Center hotel district, which made it easy for me to walk to. Inside it's no non-sense cafeteria style seating. Well worn seats hint at the popularity, even though it wasn't busy at noon on a Friday. Onto the food: I got the Texas Trinity since I was in the mood for all the smoked meats. Brisket: In between a lean/fatty cut with a well seasoned crust. Ribs: comes off the bone easily but not falls-off-the-bone. Nice smoky aroma, more so than the brisket. Also well seasoned. Sausage: A cheddar and jalapeño link. Chew is good but skin is little too chewy. Good heat profile. Potato Salad: Wow! Good spices, is it a mustard? Liked the pieces of pickles that helped balance the taste and add something different. Sauce: Pepper-spiced, tomato-based dip that isn't too sweet. Dish comes with pickles and peppers but no bread. For $26, it's just an OK value. Meats were well seasoned, now wondering if it's almost too well seasoned- always a fine line to walk. Otherwise for anyone staying in Design District, you will find Ferris Wheeler's to be one of the better food options to walk to.

    Is the wheel open yet?

The backyard opens at 4 but the Ferris wheel only operates on the weekends

Does the Ferris will work, I want to take my kids here for food and fun?

I messaged them a few weeks ago and they told me: Thurs-sat 8-11pm

What time do we need to arrive on Thursdays to get a good seat for the live music?

Anytime, it hasn't ever been so packed that you couldn't find a table. If you want one up close, I think we arrived at 7:30 and had no problem.

Beef Ribs: These were the star of the show. They were incredibly tender, melting off the bone with deep, complex flavors that set a high bar for BBQ. Brisket: While still high-quality, I found the brisket in Austin to have better meat to fat ratio. The Dallas version was good, but it didn't quite hit the same heights as the Austin achieved earlier in our trip. Even with the slight variation in the brisket, Terry Black's remains a standout. The combination of fantastic beef ribs, a great vibe, and reliable service makes it a must-visit. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

To that one guy in the reviews who said that "the trough" will require at least 4 grown men, he was correct. I think this is a good amount for 4 men (without feeling absolutely disgusted from all this fatty deliciousness). The trough comes with 1 pound of brisket (5ish), 1 pound of beef ribs, 1 pound of pork ribs (5ish), 1/2 pound of pulled pork, 2 hand made sausage links, and 2 sides along with raw onions and pickles. The brisket is so good. Melt in your mouth. Make sure you get to try some of the leaner and fatty portions of it. The beef ribs are also perfect. It was Smokey, fatty, and fall off the bone just by touching it. I also very much enjoyed the sausages. The jalapeño cheddar and the maverick sausage (hatch chilis, cilantro, and queso Oxana, amazing) were so good. The Mac and cheese and collared greens were very good. Did not get the try the other sides. The bbq sauce was also very tangy and the brisket sauce? (I think?) is also a little acidic and a perfect pairing. There is an indoors eating area (AC blasting), but also an outside area with benches. The service is great and fast

My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Kafi BBQ can be found in a shopping strip in Irving-Valley Ranch. Only opened Friday - Sunday, on my most recent Sunday visit around dinner time, Kafi was packed. The patrons were a great mix of families, BBQ lovers, and those looking for high quality Halal meats. Smoke was in the air. 1 Star. Service - The staff is super friendly and nice. Pro Tip - Go for lunch or before 6 before items are sold out. A few items were sold out on my most recent visit (my fault I arrived at 6:45) and the staff weren't aware of what was available, leading to some confusion, but they were so nice it didn't impact my meal. 1 Star. Food - By now, you've probably read or heard about Kafi's Wagyu Brisket. For me, I love following @kafibbq on Instagram so I can see what Salahodeen is cooking up. On this visit, it was the Brisket Sandwich. First off, the house baked bread roll is soft, but firm enough to hold Kafi's famous brisket on a pile of home made cole slaw and pickles. The result was one of the best BBQ sandwiches I've eaten. The bite was soft, smokey, crunchy, and tart (from the pickles). It was a special, and I'm not sure if Kafi will keep this on the menu, but I hope they do. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. It's pricey, but it's worth it. While the brisket is great, I suggest you follow them on Instagram to see what's cooking and plan your visit around the specialty items. 1 Star.

Its rare to find a bbq joint that has delicious sides AND delish meats. Yummmmmm When you order sliced brisket they ask if you want moist (with fat) or lean. The poblano sausage (beef) is so good. Try their HG brisket quesadillas!!!! Brisket heavy and excellent for the price. I love all their sides. My fave is the bacon ranch potato salad. Their mac n cheese is really good but not my go to. Their corn mixed with the mac n cheese or potato salad is yummers too Listen, just do yourself a favor and "treat yo self" to Hurtado's. Dont walk, RUN out the door to get there

The Brisket and the sausage were really good. The ribs were a five out of ten in my opinion…read more Mexican Rice was super dry. The Ranch Potato Salad had the texture of mashed potatoes with Ranch Dressing all over it. "Terrible" They also loose a point for selling Pepsi instead of Coke products. Very overpriced for the amount of food you get. Do not recommend this restaurant.
