The staff is very nice, but I have to review the food - I'm sorry! I like to support small businesses, but I just want to leave an honest review. The space is great, large and spacious so you could have a big party here or walk in anytime and get a spot. I saw a business meeting going down, so that's something you could use the space for. I don't know the story about the ferris wheel, but there is not one here so the website is a little misleading. The food was just a miss, and I hate that because I wanted to love this place. I got a plate and the elotes is where I will start. It was what seemed like canned corn, drenched in a cream sauce (maybe mayo) and sprinkled with shredded cheddar cheese. Maybe this is an American take on a Mexican dish, but no no no. Beans were good. Let's call this a 3.5 star rating. Service excellent. Food good. Atmosphere adequate. Prices reasonable. Super nice and helpful wait staff. They were prompt and checked in often. Beer was ice cold and fresh. I had the two meat dinner with sausage and spare ribs. Everything tasted great but the ribs were served at room temperature. I visited on a Saturday evening around 5pm and the restaurant was mostly empty, just myself and about four others, even though the neighboring restaurant was packed to overflow. I'm not sure why they were slow? They have an actual Ferris wheel outback, but it's not something that was open or running on a cold January evening. The interior is just concrete floors and old diner style tables and chairs, with a couple of park style tables for a larger group. Functional. Alright, yes, that's a horrible thing in TX, but the group I was with wanted BBQ and since I'll eat chicken or turkey I figured why not. So that was the start, then they kindly(?) informed me that they would have it tomorrow, well sure, fine, but also not helpful given I"m there tonight. Chew is good but skin is little too chewy. Good heat profile. Potato Salad: Wow! Good spices, is it a mustard? Liked the pieces of pickles that helped balance the taste and add something different. Everything from spare/loin back ribs to pulled pork to sausage and even pork belly. But when you roll down to Texas? Skip the pig and eat the beef. This joint is like a lot of the Texas BBQ spots...loaded up with the best beef brisket imaginable. As pictured in the smorgasbord that I ordered, I tried most of the menu. The verdict? I should've just ordered 2 pounds of brisket. While everything here is good, the brisket was by far in a way better than everything else and up there with the best I've ever had. The wife and I attended a concert here on a Sat night. While there, I said "HEY, We should try the BBQ!". Went inside since it was a little chilly and figured the full menu inside would be better to choose from. I ordered the Trinity which come with brisket, a sausage, a couple of ribs and one side. I pulled one apart and the color was just....strange..red but then splotches or brown. So, dry brisket, rancid ribs, funky man n cheese. The food was just pretty awful. I will say that the sever was very accommodating and offered a full refund. I went up to the front to discuss with the manager and another gentleman walked up with the same complaint (at least I knew I wasn't off base). I attended Ferris Wheelers Backyard and BBQ on a Saturday night to see Alan Palomo (always worth seeing him in concert!). We arrived early so we could eat there first, then see the show afterward. The food and restaurant. 3 stars. I ordered 4 sides (because the pictures shown on Yelp! looked so good!): The Mac N Cheese, Green Beans, Elotes (I assume these aren't a normal menu item), and Potato Salad. The BBQ beans and elotes were the best sides. The green beans taste like BBQ sauce (because they cook them in it), which is odd and in my opinion unnecessary since everything else tastes like BBQ sauce! But I was truly disappointed in the sour cole slaw. I'm a huge cole slaw fan, I get it everywhere I go - I make it at home. The cole slaw at Ferris Wheelers was sour, bitter, and odd flavored. It was also soggy. It was almost more akin to a sauerkraut than a cole slaw. When I expect cole slaw, sauerkraut is not acceptable. The potato salad was good, no complaints. The Mac N Cheese was so thick and sticky it was hard to eat, probably wouldn't order that again. The meats from The Trinity: Nothing was impressive. The ribs weren't fall-off-the-bone, which we're all used to wanting, the sausage was flavorful - but there was too much on the plate (too much of the same thing gets old quickly), and the brisket was dry. Generally, it was expensive. We've certainly had better quality for less elsewhere. The decor and atmosphere is in dire need of a facelift. While we were there, it had been raining a lot just before and there was apparently a roof leak right above the checkout counter because there were a few buckets, towels, and water on the ground as we were placing our order and paying. The women's bathroom didn't seem to have air conditioning, and seemed to be a last-minute add on to the building? It was cramped and odd. The Backyard. 5 stars. Yay! Great bar, great place for a smaller concert. There are a few tables to sit at near the bar, as well as a few barrels to rest beverages while standing. The GA area was perfectly fine to see the artists up close - not sure that $20 more for the "VIP" areas (the 5 feet in front of the stage) make any sense because of that. The bathroom is larger, multi-stalled, and heated - cleaner than the restaurant bathroom. Though, for a concert, I'd rather them leave other music off in the bathroom because it clashed HARD with the music you could hear from the concert - and the music playing over the speakers in the bathroom was so loud it caused the girls in there to resort to yelling at each other over it so they could hear each other. Yeah, weird fact - even thought I don't prefer to do it - the girls restroom can sometimes be a place for social chatter, especially at a concert. I say give them the best chance to hear each other! There were a few sound issues from the stage (I like to jam to loud music, but it was SO loud it HURT - my Apple watch was regularly giving me extreme decibel level warnings - and due to some issues reported from the stage, it didn't seem well tuned in yet), but I'd certainly come back here for another intimate outdoor concert. read more

The smoked fried chicken is something I've never of, but I was so pleased after tasting it. It's smoked juicy chicken, with a perfectly crunchy fried batter. It was great! Brisket queso was a must try for me. Order your food at the register and they give you a number to take to a table and wait for your food to be brought to you. Tables aren't cleaned between customers. Brisket queso turned out to be just that. A cup of cheese with a tablespoon of brisket on top. And the cheese was good with lots of peppers too. Chips were bag chips. Barbecue smelled good and looked good but this isn't a place to sit and linger. read more
