Schnitzel was hot and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside -- not overly salty either. Meatballs were juicy and packed with flavor from the minced onions that they had mixed in. The beer (we ordered a Pilsner) was the best that we had tried in all of the Berlin and Dresden restaurants that we visited. I believe it is from some small private brewery affiliated with the restaurant somehow. Whatever they are doing, they are doing it right, so definitely order the house beer. Super cozy seating (you'll probably be sharing a table with other guests) and packed all night long but amazing vibes and casual comfort food. Would come back if I ever visit Berlin again!

The order came with a basket of various types of brötchen with butter, jam and honey. We both ordered a cappuccino, made just as it should be. The gentleman who served us may be the owner, I don't know. He spoke limited English but was very friendly, offered to take our picture, and suggested an inexpensive alternative to taking a Hop On-Hop Off tour, just using public transportation and a 7 euro day pass. I believe our breakfast came to about 17 euros all together. One of the most delicious breakfasts I've had in quite a while. We paid for our meal with cash. When I arrived, I was surprised to find it tucked away at the back of a small shopping plaza. And just my luck--the hostess informed me the kitchen had just closed. As I turned to leave, she came running after me (I suspect the boss gave the nod) and said they'd be happy to serve me anyway. That small act of kindness set the tone for the whole experience. Inside, the restaurant felt warm and cozy, with the kind of unpretentious atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. I ordered the mixed grill platter, which included schnitzel, a meatball, and currywurst, served with potatoes and salad. The food arrived almost before I had time to open my book, and to my surprise, it was freshly made--flavorful, hearty, and absolutely satisfying.
