Great job on my project! The attention to detail was great and the end result was what I expected.

After a terrible hail storm hit out area we were happy to be referred to FFC. The representative was responsive and his attention to detail was nice to see. He thoroughly explained the process to us and was onsite to show all the damage to the insurance company. Once the claim was approved and the work started he was available for us at anytime through the process. He even came out to document some hidden damage and was able to get it approved as part of the claim. These guys are a great group of family oriented people and they treat their customers well. In March of 2013 I had contacted First Family Construction regarding water dame damage to our home from a recommendation from a friend. When they initial came out they did not provide an estimate. They then requested that they be present when the insurance company came out to estimate the damage. At the time this didn't seem to be out of the ordinary. We ourselves had already started the dry our process as half of the ceiling in our garage had already falling to the garage floor due to all of the water damage, there was nothing for the company to dry out or tear out. When our insurance adjuster had arrived he was a little uncertain of why the contractor was there which immediately made me rethink what was really happening. After we had received our estimate and check from our insurance company First Family Construction contacted us wanted to see the paper work and find out how much the estimate was for. At this point I should have not given them this information but I did. When First Family Construction then came out to assess the damages and give me a true estimate they were not even close to helpful. They told me that they would need to do things that the home that were not in the estimate. I asked if they could do a neater and cleaner job when hanging, taping and mudding the new sheet rock that was going to be hung in the garage and I was told that would cost us more. Then I was told that most likely the estimate the insurance company had given would not be enough to cover all the cost to fix the damages. After they had left that day with out providing us with any type of estimate on paper or verbally we decided to contact a few other construction companies to come out and estimate the damages. Mind you I never actually received an estimate of any kind from them. At that point I knew that I was being taken advantage of. After speaking with a few other companies I decided to contact First Family Construction and let them know that I would not be using there service. Then a few months later I received an invoice from First Family Construction for I believe it was $700.00. I did not pay this nor did I hear from them again. Now a year later they are contacting me telling me that I owe them $1000.00 and that they will be sending it to collections if I do not pay the invoice. I refuse to pay an invoice on something when work was never done. I would never recommend this company to anyone. read more
