Very cozy and quaint place to "get away from it all"!! Stayed here for two nights at the end of October. It's quite a bit off of the "beaten path", which is exactly what I wanted. Our cabin was "The Roost" and it's just the right size for two people. Bed was super soft....we had quite a fierce rain storm that lasted for hours. Hearing the rain patterning on the tin roof was very comforting and relaxing. When we arrived, the cabin was very cold. I made a call to the owner and they were quick in stopping by to light the pilot light on the gas fireplace. It heated the place up quickly. The owner's cat, Mellow Yellow was also there to welcome us when we arrived. This cat is not shy! He felt right at home and was rewarded with part of my grilled rib eye later on. There is a two person hot tub on the porch, rocking chairs, strings of lights and curtains you can pull for more privacy or to block the wind. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub and I had a very nice, long bubble bath while I was there. Breakfast the fist morning was pumpkin pancakes and bacon. Yum! The second day was some type of quiche, which as nice also. Portions were just right. There is a coffee pot to make your own coffee. They bring you orange juice. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway, then head to Fiddler's Roost in Galax. I promise you won't be disappointed. This is a Bed and Breakfast, except instead of rooms in one house they are individual small cabins. The size of the cabins are perfect for a couple, with one bedroom, one bathroom, and a small kitchen/living area. There is a fireplace as well. My only complaint would be that the front porch doesn't have a very clear view of the mountains (its mostly wooded) and the hot tubs are two seaters. My boyfriend who is 6'3 could hardly fit by himself. We had imagined a normal-sized hot tub, but we were ok without it. The owners Tempe & Andy live in a house on site, so they are available if there's anything you need. Other than that, you wouldn't even know they were around. We stayed for two nights and both mornings, the breakfast was amazing! We got banana french toast drizzled with a sweet cream sauce paired with bacon and also a quiche with a southwestern style salsa. It was home-cooked, but it could have passed for gourmet. The cabin was very clean and cozy. The price was $150/night... very affordable for a private cabin and gourmet breakfast brought to your door! Its not far from the quaint town of Galax, the NC border, and the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway. Lots of hiking and fishing opportunities nearby. We also took a few scenic drives. If you aren't content with the outdoors and small town living, this isn't for you. Otherwise, highly recommended. Its a great place and we're planning another trip in November! read more

Just spent New Years here at cabin #3 and it was wonderful! The cabins are cozy not fancy, so if that is what you are looking for you should go somewhere else. So relaxing. Drove the Blue Ridge Parkway, ate and shopped in Galax. There is a small kitchen if you want to cook your own meals, but def take advantage of the wonderful breakfasts that are provided. Bed was comfortable enough, but not like home. If you like flat pillows bring your own. We stayed three nights and it was a great vacation. If you have att, there is no service anywhere so print out any maps or info you need. No wifi, no internet...just beauty and relaxation. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed here a few years ago in Bear Foot cabin and we loved it. It was a perfect getaway, breakfast delivered, and very peaceful. So fast forward to 2016 and we are getting married! I contacted Fiddlers Roost to see if they had any cabins that could accommodate a small wedding and they did! We rented the Cabin on the Blue and it was the perfect setting! We couldn't have asked for better! The owners were so helpful and accommodating. Anything we needed they helped us, even thought of things I didn't. It was a beautiful wedding with the best setting. Plus, our venue was also our accommodations so it made everything so seamless and easy for me! I would highly recommend Fiddlers Roost for a vacation or a wedding! read more

Pictures and description on the website are way better then reality. Front porches aren't private, hot tubs are tiny, mattress was horrible, couch was not comfortable enough to sit on and overall attitude of the owners was not welcoming. There are a couple cool spots to eat in Galax but the feel of the area almost seems like it's zombies walking around. My wife and I bumped into another couple on their honeymoon that were staying in another cabin at Fiddler's at a restaurant downtown Galax and they were frustrated that they planned their honeymoon and drove 6 hrs to find this place not being what they expected. I've stayed in a lot of places but we will not be coming back to this one. Breakfast was pretty good though. read more

Average at best describes this place. Owners are completely not existent, which if you have questions about the area they are no help. Knocked on the door to drop of breakfast and basically ran back to their vehicle. Breakfast was nothing to write home about, quiche was overcooked and dry, pancakes the next day were not very much better. Amenities in the cabin are the cheapest on everything. Dust was completely covering everything. The bed was so soft that we may as well been sleeping on a bed of straw. View is not great at all, especially if the leafs were out on the trees. Location to the parkway was the best feature. read more

Absolutely relaxing. Fantastic getaway from the hustle and bustle. Been here several times, and already making plans to return.
