The food was surprisingly delicious as I didn't really have any expectations, the presentation was not lavish however the atmosphere feels really homey especially as the chef came out and greeted many tables like old friends. What we munched on: Mixed Sausages - Mix of our gourmet sausages, cut up with onion sauce and a selection of mustards. It was amazing, not overfilling but a great way to try different types of sausages and they were all so juicy! Traditional Wiener schnitzel - crumbed veal Schnitzel. I honestly don't love veal but this was really well cooked with no toughness and no strange smells. I would go back but perhaps I would bring more friends to share a wider variety of dishes.

Let's start with the service. The staff really need to be commended. Attentive but not annoying, knowledgeable, friendly and made you feel comfortable. Now on to the food! We started with the schmaltz. Literally lard with delicious bits added. So decadent! We've decided this is a once a year treat so we don't have heart attacks, but it's a treat worth dying for! We used the extra bread to mop up the white wine sauce on the oh so soft mussels. I could of had a second plate of these! Just for me. Next was the main - pork belly with cabbage and blood pudding served with sides of heirloom carrots and spetzel (sp?). German Mac and cheese! Perfect combinations! The pork was melt in your mouth amazing! To finish we couldn't go past the creme brûlée. Seriously. SERIOUSLY! This thing is incredible. The softest, silkiest and most creamy creme brûlée ever. A must! Before we stop! The wine list is very carefully curated. You'd be hard pressed to find something not amazing. We went for the Tempranillo and Rose by the glass and couldn't fault their delicious European choices. Ask for recommendations if you're unsure. Can't wait for next season and the next menu!!

Come here for date night or come here for a quick bite i don't care! You will want to come back a second or more times. We decided against the road trip (chefs surprise picks off the menu) and picked what we wanted to eat for the same price. We were not disappointed. Every dish was a delight and i cant even think which one i liked the most. Special mention to the sea snail - awesome! And the creme brulee - best one out! Impeccable service, our assigned waitress is indeed knowledgable on both the drinks and food and very attentive. Try to book the seat by the bar and get lost in watching the kitchen staff do their thing and see how much dallops of butter they chuck in everything om nom! Will be back :)

It's not huge inside, so if you really want to go there for a particular meal/event, make sure you call ahead and make a booking. The decor is European style, I suppose, but the table they sat us at, was right next to an open style kitchen and I hate that. It's not fun looking at them cooking the food, and to me, it just ruined the aesthetics. We were there for brunch, and I ordered the Potato Blintzes, because I LOVE blintzes. But they were NOT blintzes. They were potato pancakes/latkes. I was so disappointed. The description in the menu itself described the dish perfectly, but given the heading, I must not have registered that the description and name of the dish were a conflict. I wouldn't have ordered that dish. Having said that, the food was flavourful, but the pancakes/latkes - NOT blintzes - were very oily and I couldn't finish them because I started feeling queasy. The service was good and the staff were friendly, but you know what? I've tried it, and not been swayed to go back again. If a restaurant can't get the food right, well ... there are other places to go to.

As I'm a creature of habit, I usually order the same thing every time: pierogi and a Bloody Mary. The pierogi are amazing, served up with minted sour cream and a ton of diced pickles. See, I usually wander in on a Sunday afternoon, slightly hungover, so the dark interior paired with the Bloody Mary and hearty comfort food is honestly the best cure I could ask for! If you're in for dinner all of the platters are pretty amazing. Meats, pickles, cheese, vegetables. Each plate is fantastic, and VERY filling. Fantastic. My boyfriend and I ordered one as an appetiser and I seriously think it could have been the main event! I've never really had any vodka other than whatever's in the Bloody Mary, so I can't really speak for that. The menu is pretty impressive, though! The wait staff do have a habit of being a bit too cool for school, but I'll forgive them simply because there's nowhere else in the city to get decent Ukrainian food.
