I was so excited to be there for one of the previews of 'Other Desert Cities' and curious as to how that would work with the theatre having just been reconfigured to 'in the round'. It actually worked very well, and while we in the upper level, I can imagine it would be particularly interesting to be in the seats that were vitrually part of the set. I think I spied Melvin Bragg Down there. Who-ever it was he seemed to enjoy the show as much as us. OK perhaps it wasn't what I would call must-see theatre but it had a little something for everyone, and despite its dark nature in places, we had plenty of knowing belly laughs too. Since press night its been garnering a solid four stars. Perhaps because the show was in preview we were able to bag reasonably priced tickets at the box office direct. The staff were very friendly and helpful when we popped in the day before to check on availability. If there was a down-side it was that the seats were uncomfortable and the leg room very cramped, and thats coming from someone who is just 5ft & 2 inches! My companion had another foot on me and found the cramped seating a distraction from the show. Perhaps the more expensive seats are more comfortable. Wish everywhere had seats as cosy and roomy as The National Theatre! Conveniently located just along the road from Waterloo station for tube, rail and taxis.

They have improved all of the areas around the theater and it look spectacular. The show was wonderful and I always love how the performances use all areas of the theater including coming from the audience. I'm always recommend to my friends who are coming to London in the Summer that the Open Air Theater is a must, even before the West End.

I was here with my uncle as a birthday gift to see Arthur Miller's The Crucible, a rather sad and scary tale of the Salem witch trials. Not exactly birthday material. The stage is quite minimal with very little in the way of set items or backgrounds. Some might not like it, but I found it quite releasing without being distracted by unnecessary props, you could focus on the performance of the actors. And what terrific performances they are. Great casting, great production, I was extremely pleased and found myself a little tearful at the end of the story. A couple of tips: - Dress in layers, because it might be warm when you sit down, but after not moving for an hour you're going to chill off. You'll want an extra coat and maybe a sweater or hat. Even in mid-June, it got cold. - When they break for intermission, don't dawdle. If you need to use the bathroom, you need to move quick to get ahead of the crowd. - Pictures are not permitted. So be sure your flash is off! ;-) - Arrive a little early and avoid the crowds. Would I return? Absolutely!

The architecture is beautiful. It is a great little cosy place to enjoy a show. On this occasion, the theatrical act 'Punch' was a powerful and critically acclaimed play based on a true story of Jacob Dunne, a young man whose impulsive "one punch" assault outside a pub resulted in the death of James Hodgkinson. The play is fundamentally about the journey through Restorative Justice (RJ). The core of Punch centers on what happens after the conventional justice system has run its course--Jacob is convicted of manslaughter and serves a prison sentence. The most dramatic and moving part of the play is the meeting that takes place between Jacob and the victim's parents, Joan and David Hodgkinson, at their instigation through a restorative justice program.

Purchased months in advance two tickets two upper stalls otherwise known as the nosebleed balcony area with head on view of the stage. The web site showed us the view of the stage from each of the seats we were considering. Very lavishly decorated building, with beautiful interior and lovely curtains with royal emblem. In the United States this would be the equivalent of having a company sponsored logo on the curtains. Very hot inside with huge crowds . Wife had to check in her coat for 3 GBP or $3.30. Easy to find the women's restroom as there were the longest lines although the men's restroom far away had their own lines. They didn't charge for use of the bathrooms as our $100 tickets covered that. These upper upper balcony seats had no armrests, so they could squeeze in more seats. Fortunately I was seated next to a normal size lady and not an NFL guard size man, so no fighting for elbow room. Cost us about $100 for each ticket, and there were at least 20 rows behind us. Bring binoculars, as we sat at least 200 feet from the stage. To my surprise I enjoyed the play as I'm not usually too crazy about ballet. But this was a ballet story and easily understandable and easy to follow spectacular dancing cinematography and costume design. . Very expensive production with all those extras. Afterwards walked around the upper stories area with views of the cafe below and outside views of Covent gardens. Very spectacular even if we didn't buy the outrageously overpriced ice cream and other sundaies let alone the 15GBP cocktails.

Its a great little theatre...the guys kept the queue moving and once inside it was easy to find loos, bars and seats...they did insist no glasses on the front row, plastic only - pretty sensible one would say. A great view from up there - probably the best seats, though frankly, I'm reckon you would get a good view from almost anywhere - the online chart showing seating available helps immensely when deciding It was a fantastic evening...yes, there were a few kids, but this was really one for the parents...you could tell with the exuberant not to say loud, contribution from the audience - everyone there was ready to participate, given the slightest chance This is a FUN evening with all the cast in good form, some excelling and I don't just mean the 2 leads. A few political asides, a few risque moments but basically it was a show to savour. The 3 musicians in the boxes were good too. It was probably a good thing they didn't invite anyone on the stage For me, the best performance came from Oscar Conlon-Morrey who literally threw himself into the part as Jack, the son. Over the top - absolutely...he was supercharged from the moment he came on till the final curtain. The Gent sitting next to me was called to the stage to act as an extra and really enjoyed the experience as he told me. It was a good night at the theater as are most of the West End experiences. I recommend the show as a fun night out.

We have been several times to the Noel Coward Theater. It is in the Leicester Square theatre…read moredistrict and easy to find. The Importance of being Ernest was playing so we decided to see it. The theater is a classic British style. Several floors, bar areas and hard to find toilets. Corridors are narrow and you have to be able to climb stairs to get to most seats.Most seats offer a good view of the stage. My only disappointment was that they ran out of my preferred flavor of ice-cream at intermission!

The seating has an old-school velvety feel to it.....didn't feel dirty and there was zero musk in the air so I'd say the place is cleaned up often enough. :p Decent seat legroom (economy-flight-legroom-tier) but space between seats isn't the greatest (saw many folks being elbow-to-elbow). Overall not a dealbreaker if there's a show that you want to see that's being held here (for me I watched The Comedy About Spies; fantastic show), but wouldn't say that you would be optimally comfortable while watching the show.

We had seats on the balcony, and I was pleasantly surprised by the fantastic bird's eye view of the stage it offered. The intimacy of the venue truly enhanced the emotional impact of "Your Lie In April." Overall, the Harold Pinter Theatre is a charming and well-located venue that offers a great theatrical experience, even from the balcony. The stairs are kind of steep and narrow, and the bathrooms are kind of cramped. But it was very lovely to have the opportunity to visit this small theater to watch the adaptation of Your Lie in April.

I came here to see one of my favorite actors, Tom Hiddleston, perform in the play "Betrayal" (which, coincidentally, was written by the same individual that the theatre is named after). Despite the minimalist set design, the production was well done. The sound and lighting were excellent, and I had fantastic seats. I sat in the B-row of the Royal Circle and had a fantastic view which did not require the aid of my opera glasses. Speaking of binoculars/opera glasses, in the Royal Circle (the seating block between the Orchestra and the Balcony seats) they are available for rent for a small fee (£1, if I remember correctly). Not sure if that's the case in all of the sections though. The only concern that I had involved exiting the theatre. There are two very small stairways that lead from the Royal Circle to the main floor and ultimately to the exit. In the event of a fire or other emergency, is almost assured that people would be trapped/trampled. I must've waited for at least 15 minutes after the show ended just to get out of my seat because the queue backed all the way up into the seating area.
