This is a place to refresh and rejuvenate your body and soul. I came with my partner and stayed for 7 nights, so we felt like we got a nice understanding of Finca as well as the island of Vieques. You are literally hidden away in the hills of Vieques, in the middle of the island with all the wild horses right at your doorstep. From the top of the hill here, you can see the ocean, and the rooms are beautifully breezy and calm. Each room has outdoor showers, a beautiful bed, a kitchenette with fridge and water boiler, and an outdoor bathroom. We stayed in one of the Victoria suites, but make sure to do research before you go to figure out which room you'd like, as they are all unique. Sometimes the bugs will getchya, so be sure to come prepared with bug spray, or ask for some at the front desk.
Each morning we did yoga at 7am with either Audrey or Victoria, who are both amazing in their own ways. It's outside in the sun, but sometimes a brief shower comes through or a delicious breeze, and you're feeling just fine. Usually we would go back to our rooms to relax a bit before breakfast. What a true treat. Something different every day, and sometimes ingredients from the property, including starfruit, avocados, pomegranates, mangos. Always vegetarian and sometimes vegan, and mostly savory fare. There's also a delicious snack bar that you can take snacks from (on the honor system to pay) including hummus and veggies, eggplant pasta, cold beers, kombucha, and other weekly dishes. In your room there's a cooler so you can take these items with you to the beach everyday.
After the long days at the beach (we visited 10 different beaches on the island!), we spent a lot of time at the pool and drinking the infused teas/coffee. It's pure paradise here, as serene as you can possibly imagine. There are a few dogs on the property who will steal your heart! Maga, Lotus, and Boots were there, and we were sad to miss another pup who has 1 leg. They are all super loving.
We opted for the in-room massages, and Audrey was so attentive and thorough. They last about an hour, and if there's something she's working through, maybe even longer. She's so talented in many ways, being the yoga instructor, massage therapist, making infused spritzes, and even fire spinning. We were lucky to catch her fire spinning at one of the nightly dinners, an incredible experience that I highly recommend.
The staff at Finca are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet, truly. Kind and generous with their time and always down for a good experience. And Sylvia has named each one of the rooms for people (mostly women) in her life who have been meaningful in some way. I mean!!
We splurged and spent a good amount for our stay, but it was completely worth it. I hope you have the chance to enjoy this incredible space. read more
