Everything is very well-kept and the lake in the middle was such a peaceful juxtaposition to the fast cars on track. There were multiple spots to enter the park and different tram spots that only really got crazy on race day but throughout the rest of the race weekend it didn't get too overwhelming. I loved all the hills and grassy areas. Be sure to bring something to sit on, there's tons of grassy areas but not too many benches etc.

A crushed rock path weaves its way through the open fields, around the large water basin, and across a huge field, before crossing the river and through the mangroves lake. Beautiful stuff. All the while, there's a great view of the mountain looming above you, and although civilization is minutes away, you feel like you're in your own private universe. With many others knowing the place, its best to keep your pup on a lead to avoid any instances, that way, both you and your best friend can enjoy the stroll in peace.

Perfect for your dogs to swim and play and socialise, but please don't take unsocialised animals there unless you're prepared to introduce your dog slowly and gently to other dogs, as you could turn any corner and come face to face with a giant Jack Russell or some other breed equally intimidating . Most dogs you meet will be off leash and having a great time, fetching balls and sticks and having a good time. Not all people like each other and sometimes dogs take a dislike to each other too and trouble ensues, which is horrible for the owners. It is always better to be prepared if you can. Just letting you know beforehand so you will have a wonderful time with your dogs when you get there. I don't mean to be patronising but I have seen a couple of dogfights in my time and I don't want to see another one. And... the views to the Dandenongs are lovely too. Hope to see you there.

There are 2 shades…read morepicnic area with BBQs, a kids playground with cute equipments ( sand, sand play, mushroom seats etc) There's also a big hill towards the end of Jones's reserve that backs on to another park ( soccer ground) . If you walk up this hill you can see the gold top of the church up the road. It's kinda a cool view, almost make you feel that you are somewhere in the Mediterranean. ( just a little) It's also a top spot for chucking ball/ stick down the hill for your pooch to fetch ;) There's a half size basketball ground in the park with one ring, good for a quick play or training . One end of the park has a walkway that is skirted by a small waterway, watch out if walking in this area for snakes . There are signs there, although I have not seen one yet. I think there's enough foot traffic here to keep them away .

Youngsters and age-old locals of the area are able to enjoy this vast area that contains the famous football oval, basketball courts, tennis wall and playground. Another popular element of the Peanut Farm Reserve is the "Veg Out" Community Gardens that is located just across the road at the former St Kilda Bowling Club. The gardens are primarily rented by residents of apartments in the area and offer local residents the opportunity to express themselves in a small plot of soil, which results in many colourful artistic displays. Dog friendly, the reserve is a central spot for locals to exercise, partake in sporting activities or simply bring the kids for a run around.

There are chirping birds, ducks wandering around, people jogging, couples going for a stroll, picnics everywhere, children playing, dogs chasing balls and folks generally relaxing. The park is huge where sitting amongst the trees is true relaxation and tranquility. The park has everything from a playground to a conservatory to ovals and pitches where you can play soccer, tennis, cricket, lacrosse, bowling and croquet. On a sunny day the whole park has a great vibe. People respect the environment where groups aren't invasive where you can share the area without feeling like it's overcrowded. There's always a spot to hang out in. As a sporty kind of person it's great to have the opportunities to be involved in that culture as well. I'm very pleased that this park is close by where I'm hanging out for some summery days to be enjoyed at Caulfield Park.
