We went to Fin's for Mother's Day this year. Our server was very attentive. He actually is from the area of NY where we lived before moving to Florida. The food was delicious as well as the dessert. We sat outside near the the wall and had a beautiful view of the water and pier. The Gulf breeze was perfect. We will visit again soon. read more

Pork Bao Bun - WOW! Wish we ordered two. Absolutely fantastic! Great flavor and the sticky bun is the perfect compliment. Pisces Roll - Always a great choice for sushi here. Shrimp popper - just as good for a sushi choice. I prefer this slightly to the pisces roll but they're really equally as tasty. Pama Spritz - it was...decent. Make sure to stir it up. I'd prefer other drink options. Bourbon Snowbird Smash - YES! This is so tasty you'll easily want two. 5 stars. Cucumber Gimlet - You must like cucumber but if you do this is certainly quite refreshing, especially on a warm day! Bloody Mary - I heard it was just "okay". Not much liquor apparently. Ooops. I accidentally deleted my older reviews, all of which were outstanding. We had another amazing evening at Fins at Sharkey's on the Pier on Friday, December 20th. Even though it was a chilly night, we decided to arrive early before our reservation to enjoy a drink and the sunset. The outdoor seating was pretty full, thanks to the heaters, but our seats were a bit farther away from them, so it was definitely cold. That's when the waitress offered us blankets--such a thoughtful touch! I gladly took two! We started with drinks and sashimi for an appetizer. Before it arrived, our table inside was ready, so we moved to a cozy spot by the window where it was much warmer. The sashimi was absolutely out of this world. The pieces were incredibly thick, fresh, and large--truly unmatched in size and quality. While waiting for our entrées, we enjoyed the complimentary bread and spreads, which were delightful. The bread was warm and fresh, and the spreads were creative and flavorful, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal. For dinner, we both chose the lobster, and it was outstanding. Cooked to perfection and packed with flavor, it truly elevated the dining experience. The drinks were fabulous, and the service, as always, was first-class. Our meal was wonderful! I had the Volcano roll and cucumber salad and my husband had the filet with mashed potatoes and broccolini. He said the filet had a nice charbroiled flavor to it and was well prepared! My volcano roll was fresh, flavorful and huge! The price was awesome compared to what I've paid in Tampa for similar! We loved sitting in the Captain's room, with a nice view of the ocean. Our waiter was attentive and friendly! View, weather, table on the screened porch absolutely perfect!! We spend our winters here, and wanted our guests to have a nice lunch on the water. Took 3 guests there for lunch today. Everyone seemed happy with their sushi meals. Shared a starter of Oysters Rockefeller. Varied opinions on that. My husband and I asked if it was possible to split the paella. Sounded like a lot of food for lunch and it truly was. The waitress said yes, of course, many people do that. All good. Paella includes 1/2 lobster tail, scallops, shrimp, clams, mussels, catch of the day, with saffron rice, peas, and cute little peppers along with pea shoots I believe. It was a very good meal and more than enough for the two of us. The only thing is the lobster was totally hammered (rubber bands) and the mussels and clams were almost as bad. Loved the saffron rice, peas, peppers, pea shoots. Scallops were luscious. Perfect. Service was okay. Barely saw our waitress. Would we go back??? Definitely!! Over & over. It almost seems like lunch is a training period for staff and chefs. Still seems so worth it to be able to converse with friends in a beautiful atmosphere even if the food has some glitches. Miss going to Sharkies, frankly, but after so many years got tired of the wait for a table and joyfully welcome same views with a reserved table & less hubbub. A perfect place for a birthday celebration! We got reservations--great idea! We walked on the pier before we ate. Nearby heaters kept us warm enough on a cool evening. Mm..we started out with tasty mocktails & a stout for drinks & shared a shrimp cocktail, oysters Rockefeller, crab claws, & oysters on the half shell. Such a beautiful presentation! The Oysters Rockefeller were incredible! The crab claws were just okay. The bread came with 4 dips & were so awesomely delicious! We had Caesar salads to start. Hubby & I ordered scallops--so beautiful & tasty! The slaw on top was awesome & the creamy edamame was fun. The mashed sweet potatoes weren't all that great. Next time I'd ask for rice or something else. Friend had swordfish & it was delicious! Birthday girl had a filet and enjoyed it. A pretty bowl of chocolate covered ice cream topped off a great meal! We went to Fins 11.30.2025 around sunset. They changed the outside seating for walk ups so we went inside to check with the hostess. She was quite curt, stating there was not any available seating and gave us a time beyond the time we could get reserving online while standing in front of her. We decide to go to the bar where there was plenty of seating. 5 of us sat at the bar and we were greeting by Lindsay. She was busy but was still friendly and welcoming. Then Eddy stopped by to see if we needed anything. We decided we would have sushi and dessert at the bar. If it wasn't for Lindsay and Eddy this would not have been a 5 star review. They say "you don't get a second chance to make a first impression". Fortunately, Lindsay and Eddy made such a great impression we will forgot the first impression the hostess made. Fins has gone absolutely downhill. We have been coming here since it opened and once called it the most reliable restaurant in Venice. As of late it is unnecessarily expensive and the food is no longer quality. The indoor ambiance isn't great. Their waiters seem stretched thin. The only redeeming quality is the outdoor seating and the strongish drinks. And for the bathroom. Smells like a port a potty. Not impressed. read more

If you eat here ask for krissy. I came in on Monday night with a group of close friends a few who have never been. First of all the who atmosphere is out of this world as well as our server krissy. She was absolutely fantastic and made our experience amazing. She even explained to us how the stove in the back works (really cool)! I have been wanting to try this place for a while and finally went this past week. It is beautiful and we were lucky enough to get an outside railing seat. The drinks and food were very good- the only complaint I have is the $52 price tag for the scallop dinner and getting 3 scallops! I live in the NYC area and get more scallops at fancy restaurants and pay less for the plate. I knew going in it was expensive, but was kind of surprised by 3 scallops??? My mother and I just had dinner at Fins...I have been looking forward to it for several days...we are going back home in just a few days...we haven't been to Fins for a few years because the last time it was new and soooo terribly loud...tonight, I found it to still be terribly loud, but I ordered the Duck from the menu because, I just love Duck...it came and I had to ask for a steak knife because it was sooooo tough I couldn't cut it with the knife provided...I told the waitress about it but we still ended up paying full price...needless to say, Fins is OFF my good list and on my naughty list...sorry...I didn't want to add a star, but they require it I guess. read more

After trying to go to 2 other restaurants, one that closes at 10 pm and one that closed at 9 pm, also we were so rudely turned away at the one that closed at 10 pm, we went to Fins (which also closes at 10) and we're still seated at 9:30! We were welcomed by such a kind hostess who was personable and we told her it was a breath of fresh air!!! & how it's a girls trip! I guess she relayed the info to our waitress, (ugh I think I'm forgetting her name but I think it's Carinne). And she greeted us with "I heard it's girls night??!" I loved her!!! Fins is the cool older brother of sharkys and sits right above on the beach. Sharkys is the fun daytime place but my friend and I stopped by Fins around dinner and had appetizers and drinks. Would have given 5 stars but something has to be done about the parking. Have never seen such an overcrowded, unorganized parking. It's crowded all year long but during snowbird season it's unmanageable to say the least. Hopeful diners parked all the way down Harbor Dr., down side streets, across and adjacent to golf course and valet full. Tempers flaring and people jockeying for any space they could manage to sneak into. Food, ambiance and service is second to none but why would anybody put themselves through that just for a meal. This is a longshot but maybe Sharkeys/Finns could somehow figure out how to provide preferential parking for their loyal year round diners and let the snowbirds deal with the rest. read more

We made a reservation (which I do recommend). We dined outside, but the atmosphere inside is beautiful, upscale, and the host staff are both welcoming, happy, and efficient. The outside dining is truly waterfront (which we had spent looking for all vacation). There is an unobstructed beach and ocean view, with a beautiful sunset, smartly shaded by mesh pull downs so you can still see but are not blinded by the light. Food was delicious. My daughter's mocktail came with an edible candy straw, that she cannot stop talking about. How fun! Great restaurant with beautiful oceanfront views. We actually ate there on our way to Florida and on our way back. Our first meal was dinner and we got the delicious Crab Cake appetizer. The bread and dips for the table were unique and tasty. I had the Blue Cheese Beef Tenderloin, which was excellent, and my husband got the Mahi Mahi fish special. It was terrific. Our server SEAN was highly attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Our second visit included the great Heirloom Tomato Caprese, the Chicken Caprese Sandwich (highly recommend), and the Fish and Chips.
