    Loki's all better!
    La Shawnda L.

I found my new veterinarian!! Fire Mountain Veterinary! Loki had a cold and was coughing for about 3 days. I called to make an appointment and they got us in within 2 hrs. The front office was a calm setting, the doc and nurses were gentle and informative, we got right in the room, no waiting, maybe in and out within an hour. Loki got cough medicine and is all better back to playing ball.

I must have called every vet within North County over the weekend after my dog had been in a fight with a husky. After a day and a half of trying to find a vet that had any openings I finally gave in and tried an ER in San Marcos. After already driving to San Marcos to have my dog seen in the car they said come back in 3 hours. As I'm waiting to drive back to San Marcos from Oceanside I get a text saying the appointment was delayed even longer. I finally gave up and started calling vets again. Called Fire Mountain Vet and they were able to get us in within 30 minutes. Everything about the appointment went smooth and the employees were all very kind and helpful. I highly recommend Fire Mountain Vet and will be returning for all services related to my dog and cat (and future furbabies).

I haven't even left yet and my experience here has been life changing. Every other vet I've called has had rude receptionists or unreasonable prices alongside not being able to get an appointment. My adult pup had come in contact with a puppy who has Parvo. They immediately got me in and were able to test him with reasonable prices. Waiting for the doctor as I'm typing this, but my experience thus far has been extraordinarily. The reception Erica was so friendly over the phone and made me want to come in even more. She was knowledgeable and helpful regarding the situation my dog was in. The tech James was also super friendly and caring. I hope I see them both when I'm here. I've noticed some of the other employees aren't as friendly. The office is clean and seems very family oriented as it's a smaller office which I love! I can tell they care about the animals they treat & im happy to call them my new vet for my coconut. Praying for negative results

    Our good boy.

I am very thankful for this vet. They gave us a room and allowed us to grieve as we had to put our Buddy down. When they delivered the news of cancer to us, they were very professional and caring. This is the best vet clinic Buddy ever visited. Thank you for your care and love to us and our pet.

This vet may actually harm your pet. Frist, please do yourself a favor and read the other negative reviews. When I moved I wanted to find a new quality vet who cares about my pets. After every pet visit I would always get a call the next day asking how my pet was. This is a very nice and thoughtful practice. I would suggest Fire Mountain apply the same strategy. Suggested lots of new expensive tests. Hesitantly agreed because I want my pet to be healthy. Vet assistant ensured me that these test are needed and would call the next day with the test results. Was suggested to me to get a new medication for my pet (Trio chewable) medication. Invoice came out to over $600. Seems really high. My appointment was on Friday. Saturday no call Sunday no call Monday no call Tuesday I finally called to see what was going on so the woman said oh I'm sorry let me get that for you and put me on hold. Waited for five minutes and line was disconnected. No one bothered to call back. Sent an email describing my disappointment and concern asking for a response or a refund. Never heard back from the email either. So frustrating I can't get ANY communication or response from Fire Mountain Vet. Decided to look up some reviews to see what others thought, while there are some positive reviews, there are many negative responses who have a similar experience to me. It became clear. Stay away from this vet. Friday - 1pm annual appointment. Over $600 bill for important lab work that needed to be done. Promised call back next day. Saturday no call. Sunday no call. Monday no call. Tuesday still no call?!?! Maisy needs to take her meds today, but without the lab results I don't know if it safe. Called FMVH, nice lady answered the phone and said oh sure I can get your records let me put you on hold for a moment. I was on hold for almost 5 minutes and hung up. Waited a couple hours, no one called back. Thinking they might be really busy at the time, a better approach would be to send them an email. I sent an email saying I was dissatisfied that I haven't received my lab results yet and can I either please have the lab results or offer me a refund. Never heard a response, back at all, by phone or email. Wednesday, still no response. So I looked up the owner of the company, and thought if I ran this company I would want to know how bad her customer experience is. I called, and asked to speak to Juli Salivas, and was told she wasn't in today but she would be in tomorrow. I said that's fine please be sure to have her call me tomorrow. She said she would pass the message along. Thursday, no call, no email, nothing. Friday, now I am really concerned, don't know what to do. I double check my phone just to be sure I didn't miss their call or voicemail. And sure enough I had no call or voicemail from them. So I thought maybe just by some off chance my cell phone was out of range or something it didn't actually come to my phone I looked up the records of my phone company and verified I've received no my phone number received no call from them when they said they called. Friday evening finally received a call from Juli (the owner), I conveyed my grievances to her, she understood. She didn't care. Juli literaly didn't care my Maisy suffered a lapse in her medication because her own company's negligence. But the truth is they never called, and they refuse to show any record of them calling me. Straight up deception. Stay away. There's something fundamentally wrong with this veterinary hospital. Happy ending Maisy is now safe and on her medication.

This place was a literal lifesaver for us: the staff once noticed Bams was lethargic with faint yellow gums--a detail so subtle that even Bams vet was impressed they caught it. It turned out to be mild jaundice, which proves that Carlene and her team are true professionals who deeply understand canine health. The front desk experience is always a highlight of our day. The staff--Gabs, Kayla, Daniela, and Enrique--are incredibly sweet, soft-spoken, and remarkably easy to talk to, even during those 6 am drop-offs. Being greeted by Kayla's pup, Yogi, or Carlene's pup, Poppy or Ingrid's pup is truly the best way to start the morning. They're such a joy; all they ever ask for is a little love and some well-deserved tummy scratches! The service is so thoughtful; they know Bams loves fetch but also ensure she gets her necessary quiet breaks after meals. Whether I'm at work or traveling internationally, I have total peace of mind thanks to the multi-angle webcam app and the heartwarming photo updates they send. Boarding is seamless (pro tip: label your food bags!), and the Paw Partner app makes booking a breeze. I also have to shout out Jessica from Snips and Snuggles--she is the sweetest groomer and always leaves Bams looking like a princess in her festive bandanas. A massive thank you to Carlene and the entire hardworking team-- Kayla, Gabs, Daniela, Enrique, Connor, Tim, and Ingrid (and anyone I missed!)--for the 14-hour days you pull to care for our furry family members. My review is based on camp and boarding w/camp…read more We were searching for the right doggy day-camp, so called a few places. I was told there's an evaluation process (which was expected since I had to do this with other potential facilities), and Josh helped answer all my questions! He explained everything clearly and even sent me photos and video of my pup to let me know how he was doing (he settled in nicely and was doing well)! There isn't a time limit for the evaluation, so I kept my pup there all day to let him have the full experience. I've since bought the punchcard which has two options. 10 daycamps for $400 or 20 for $700. We dropped our dog off a few times over summer for day camp, and almost a handful of times we were called just a couple hours after drop off because they had to bring the dogs in due to the heat. We were still charged a full day of camp. I get the full day charge if we leave our dog there all day, but it would've been great if they worked with us to charge half days (prorate it), or give a few extra comp days to compensate if we pick him up right away (which is almost always before 12). One time they noticed he rolled in his own pee while in the kennel, so they offered to give him a complimentary bath which I appreciated! Now onto my boarding experience. First and foremost, the rate for boarding is: $63. The rate for boarding with camp is $87. I signed up for boarding with camp, and asked a few times on different occasions about the charges for boarding with camp (ie. what's the cutoff time that I need to pick him up by, etc) - and was told 12pm. I asked if there was flexibility to pick him up before 3 since I indicated in the application - but the price listed is per day - so if you want your pup to have camp on the day of pickup, that's an extra fee. Multiple people told me in person and over the phone that I "should be ok" because I put it on my application - so I didn't think I'd be charged extra. So watch out for this and your pickup times if you decide to board here. They won't honor what you were told over the phone, and will only reference the contract. Also, if you sign up for boarding with camp, you are billed separately for each of the services, which creates some confusion but the math adds upcorrectly. Our dog ended up with conjunctivitis after his second boarding stay, so we were hit with an unexpected vet bill on top of that. Overall, the hours are convenient and I'm glad we found the right place for our dog, but the customer service / communication aspect for boarding needs improvement. Shoutout to Josh for all you do! It's your service and TLC you give our pup that keeps us coming back.
