Saigon street and Thai chili wings with zucchini sticks
    Sydney J.

While walking by in Alameda, I spontaneously decided to give them a try. We opted for Saigon Street and Thai chili for the wings flavors, BBQ and honey mustard for the two dips to accompany them, and paid an additional $1 to sub zucchini sticks for the side. The zucchini sticks were pretty good, they were nicely fried and breaded and the pieces are small enough so even though you can see the zucchini piece inside the fried exterior when you bite in, you can barely taste zucchini itself (a plus for me because I normally find zucchini to be very plain). We decently enjoyed the wings as well, no complaints there. Be aware of the jalapeno seeds making them more spicy, however. The workers were friendly, and even left a nice happy new year message on the paper.

Ugly, dry, and tasteless. My pictures speak for themselves. Getting food from this place was a complete waste of time, energy, and money.

Hayward fire wings not the one in alameda

Nice people nice location and nice on the inside but the wings weren't seasoned like the ones in Hayward no cheese on the fires nothing I was very disappointed and not too happy no cheese barely on the wings either so I posted it so they can actually do it right

Blown away with the wing flavor choices. Beautiful dining room with windows on two sides and tall ceilings. Service was fast and friendly. When looking at the flavor options my brain was overloaded and brain power fizzled out. Dry rubs and traditional flavors and new flavors I've never seen before. It was appreciated but I couldn't give you advice on what to choose. Good luck. Beautiful dining room with polished concrete floors and modern, clean walls. New soda machine - I had some Starry soda - that is the new Sierra Mist for people who don't know. One odd thing I didn't like was the inability to add a little plain soda water - I always do that to make the sugary soda less sweet if I have the ability to. There were not that many non soda options. I really like places like Panera or The Habit that have tons of teas and fruit infused water options. I ordered the chicken sandwich and the fried zucchini as a side - I was able to upgrade the combo for an upcharge. I'm always more curious to taste an unusual side than the regular potato. The chicken sandwich had tomato and lettuce with mayo. The bun was of high quality and won me over even now that I'm a Tartine and Acme snob. The chicken patty was not overly processed meat and I was very impressed with the meat quality. I didn't like the flavor somehow - maybe the oil needed to be changed soon. I could sense a little something burned around the edges. I was able to sample the fries and chicken wings from my friend's order. The fries were not pipping hot - I really like when they are served dangerously hot - I mean really really burn your mouth hot. I get them that way only from certain restaurants. Susie Qs in Hayward and Brotzeit in Oakland come to mind. The chicken wings were very very good. The wings were topped with some fresh green onions and were cooked well. I didn't notice any burned or odd flavor as I did with the breaded chicken patty. This was a very convenient place to pop in before the YEE at Subpar on Thursday. If you are playing mini golf across the way I would think this might be a better bet than whatever they serve at Subpar. Service was fast and friendly. Promptly greeted upon entering and patient with the flavor options and discussing what most people like in order to narrow down the options. You clear tables yourself and there is no server. I like this concept as it keeps prices for the food lower. I really don't need a server to come bring me the food - taking 10 steps is fine with me. I've also noticed that if you are with little ones the informality of this style of dining allows for kids to move around a little - they like that as they are not assigned to and stuck to one spot the whole time. They can get drinks and maybe wander around a little. Wings are discounted on I believe Wednesday. If you are a competitive wing eater that is the day to go. Wings are trendy these days and even at the supermarket you will pay a premium for them. I would encourage you to explore all the odd sides as this is another highlight of the restaurant. Overall a great spot. If you need some new wing flavor options this is your place.

In the mood for some wings. Looked for a local spot and not one of the typical spots. Good choice. I had the 10 pieces wings only with buffalo and bbq. Both tasted great! Although the buffalo was a little spin than I am used to. The wings were large, crispy outside and moist inside. Cooked perfectly. For about $15. The staff was attentive and friendly. The store was spacious and clean. I'll return once I get back in the area.

The wings are great! The fries are good. The garlic fries were TOOOOO garlicky! The drinks are fountain drinks with limited choices, Eating inside... ugh! And GROSS. Everything was sticky with the appearance of being clean! The staff are super friendly & nice. I recommend the wings & chili cheese fries (ordered before). Other fries were meh. Order To Go only. Restrooms dirty , but there. Lots of street parking

I had a good experience at fire wings. I was able to place my order online and it was ready exactly when they said it would be. I got Buffalo and bbq. Both tasty and sufficiently sauced. I also got ranch on the side and requested honey mustard and Buffalo on my way out - the person working gladly gave me sauces and didn't charge me extra. I've heard good things about many of the other flavors here so I will be back to try those out. There is an easy parking lot on the back side of fire wings with plenty of space. The floor is a little sticky inside but otherwise appears clean and nice.

Two wings stick together you see the small wing on the left? They counted this as 2 of the 5

Now dont get me wrong i don't want any hormone filled GMO chicken but I do want some meat on my chicken I dont know if it was because it was the end of the night but the wings were so skimpy.. they were fried on top of each other and literally the length of my pinky finger .. the flavor was good. The lemon pepper were "breaded" which apparently is just double crunchy.. they were cool but the wings were so small I had to count them to make sure I at least had 5 of each flavor I've patronized other fire wings locations so I know they are not all bad

Maybe it was because we went at the end of the night...but they gave us SO MUCH food. Really so much. Not sure if the photo I took does it any Justice. Regardless we were very thankful, and our chili cheese tot cravings were completed placated. Best late night pick me up food to wind down on a weekend night. Shared it while watching Korean dramas and it was the perfect end to our night. Thank you so much for hooking it up!

I love the wings here. We get them every Tuesday or Monday and they always give us extra wings. I love all the spicy flavors.

Are you still open? I went online and the online ordering form was down.

    Gluten free options?

Our naked wings are technically gluten free because we do not add breading to them but they are fried in the same oil as some of our non gluten free offerings.

Can I order online or over the phone to the alameda location?

You can call in an order over the phone @ 510-239-4040 but our online ordering is not fully set up just yet. We will have that ready shortly, thank you!

The staff was cordial and friendly, and the chicken-themed decor, charming. Now it IS a chicken joint, the go-to chicken spot for my full carnivore friend. He loves them for their chicken, their inexpensive menu and their large portions. I'm mostly pescatarian, though I do sometimes cheat with bacon. (I always feel SO guilty afterwards too!) I ordered the honey mustard salad with bacon and no chicken. My friend ordered the chicken Mac n cheese and tater tots. The bill came up to $30, and the portions were good on on the salad, GREAT on the tater tots and decent on the chicken mac. I can't speak personally on the chicken but my friend says it's amazing. I tasted some of his Mac n cheese with no chicken, and it was really good and flavorful, nice and cheesy. I tasted his tater tots. They were plentiful, well-seasoned and fried to golden perfection, with a nice crunch. I ate all of my salad. My friend couldn't finish his chicken Mac or his tater tots and was happy to be able to take them to go for another meal. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place.

I would say the chicken they use for…read morethe sandwiches...and probably the strips....and probably the salad, is actually really good. It was hot and thick and juicy when it came out. The fries were decent, but likely just some standard frozen fries. The ranch was also really good, but $.50 each small sized cup. My biggest gripe was the service and the state of the restaurant. In the booth we sat in there was an electrical outlet is hanging out of the wall and the booths are in need of cleaning. We had to use the bathroom, and the soap was out. The staff member brought a new one, but didn't know how to install it so it just sat on top of paper towels. Not a huge deal but bruh, figure it out. The guy was nice enough, but just sat and watched his phone when no one was at counter. There was also another guy, maybe from the kitchen (?) hanging out behind the counter sometimes as well. All while tables needed wiping, the bus tub was FULL with dishes, or either of them could have tried to get the soap installed. If there was no one at counter or food to cook it was stand around and stare at our phones. It's just sad Just a subpar experience for as much as food costs these days. Train the staff to stay busy and know how to bus tables and clean. And if you ever order the BLT chicken sandwich make sure to ask for no BBQ sauce. Yuk.

We came on a weekday evening, and it was packed! The sound travels here so that it can get really loud and busy. The inside is super casual with seating for large or smaller groups. The service by the staff was good. Our food came out quickly, and everyone was friendly and checked in on us. We ordered the Tom Kha, Nam Khao, Fried Clear Rice Paper Roll Wraps, Pineapple Khao Pad, and Geng Ka Ree. Everything was fabulous! Lots of great flavors and spices. The portion sizes were spot on. My favorite was the Nam Khao and the Fried Clear Rice Paper Roll Wraps. I love the bite-sized and sharing family-style. My companion and family also enjoyed it. If you like Laotian food, Bhan Mae Vane is a must-try in the East Bay! Find them off Webster Street with street and neighborhood parking. I look forward to going back!

Do you like the funk?…read more Our server explained to us the Lao version is more funky and fermented, while the Thai version is more mellow. We went with the Lao version. The Thai iced coffee was delicious and strong! As it should be. It did give me the jitters though because I'm a weak sauce. We were a party of ten and I was able to make rezzies via phone for a Friday evening at 6:30pm no problem about a week beforehand. The kiddos ordered à la carte, and five of us adults had the following: - BMV ultimate papaya platter with Lao sausage, angel wings and crispy pork. Crispy pork was legit, papaya salad definitely had that extra funk. The angel wings were crispy and meaty and my friends loved the Lao sausage. One even said "it's like tom yum soup in a sausage". It was very lemongrass forward which is not my thing, but that's my problem. I feel we could have ordered à la carte and that would have been a better deal than $75 for the platter. Some of it was fluff like the cabbage, rice and pork rinds. - Khao soy soup: Fiancé thought it would be creamy and coconut-y like the Thai version but it wasn't. I did enjoy the flat noodles but they were all stuck together. - Pia pla ka pow (fish with basil): Good one. The fish was moist and flavorful. The veggies were al dente and delicious too. - Sakoo: Unique! I enjoyed the chewy mochi exterior and the savory ground pork filling. It needed a sauce. I just used the chili sauce that was on the party platter. - Laab Gai: This fell flat for me. I'm not a huge fan of organs though. - Nam khao fried rice: One of our favorites! The crispy pieces really made this dish. Would definitely order this again. - Mango sticky rice: Served warm. Very sweet mango! - Purple rice with egg custard: Also served warm. This was ok. - Side of rice: HUGE serving! Unfortunately it was clumpy and hard, which means old. Street parking only. Get the nam khao and mango sticky rice!
