I've eaten at several Firehouses and they are all consistently good and perfect on a night when I don't want to cook. What makes this Firehouse special is the staff. Excellent place if you are craving a delicious sandwich or soup for that matter. I have to admit the hook and ladder and the one with a mushrooms are the only two I have tried for a reason, once you find something you like.... The large is also big enough for my husband and I to share which is great when we are wanting to eat cheap. One thing about firehouse that just might be better than the food is the employees. They are always sooooo friendly and don't roll their eyes if you have a special correct (courtesy of my non-vegetable eating husband). Furthermore, they actually get the special request correct. Not sure why people rave about Firehouse Subs. They are ok. It would not be my choice to go there. Subway and Thundercloud Subs have much better tasting tuna salad and bread -- and friendlier staff. The guy that took my order appeared to be bothered by me, the one customer in the place, interrupting his slack time. As he took my order I could tell he wasn't paying attention but proceeded to tell him what I didn't want on my sandwich anyway. After the long list of unwanted items, he asks me if I want each of those items as if I never told him anything. I just thought, "Oh well, he's just a kid." The girl that made my sandwich was friendly and didn't charge me for a drink when I came to order it since I had forgot to the first time. I ordered the steak and provolone cheese sub and broccoli cheese soup. The soup was delicious with huge chunks of yummy broccoli, but the sandwich was just okay. They forgot the provolone cheese (the best part) and the meat was kind of tough. I'll be going to Thundercloud in the future. read more

I eat here frequently and they have some of the best subs anywhere. If you want to know why I deducted a star, have a look at their nutritional information. 800+ calories for their small/medium sub is insulting. Absolutely no argument that they are probably the best chain sub shop, but they need to get with the program. The medium sized sub is way more than 1 person needs, so they could pretty easily get in the realm of a heathier menu just by making the portions reasonable. I stopped by last week around 11:20am with a friend. There was one guy in front of us in line already waiting. All 3 of us just stood there for over 5 minutes without anybody acknowledging us. There were a couple employees sweeping or mopping behind the counter area within view, but neither said anything to the customers waiting to be helped. They saw us waiting, but completely ignored all 3 of us. It was pretty clear they just wished we hadn't walked in the door. My friend and I walked out and went across the street to Quiznos. Much better than the nearby Subway. Food is fresh and tastes great. Can't beat the Italian sub. The smokehouse beef and chedder brisket is really good, too. The datil pepper hot sauce is amazing on anything -- it's sweet and spicy. There's a good selection of hot sauces on the counter you can use for free. You'd be missing out if you took the sub to-go. There's a fancy soda machine in-store that allows you to try many flavor combinations, which is nice if you're into experimentation. The restaurant is relatively clean, the service is friendly. Prices are a little more expensive than Subway, but you get what you pay for. I don't agree with the average low rating on this place -- maybe some people have had bad experiences or expect much more. read more

I rarely leave reviews for chains because I feel like it's pretty unnecessary. You know what firehouse is, you know what they have, you know what to expect. I love the turkey bacon ranch and get it any time I go to firehouse. It's so consistently good I refuse to try anything else. My fiancé and I have come here two weeks in a row when we can't decide what we want for dinner. Each time we had a different cashier, but they both had the same bland attitude. They weren't rude, but weren't friendly at all. Despite my attempts to be friendly and smile, I didn't get a single smile! Either visit! This raises HUGE red flags about the management here. Your employees are miserable!!!! Direct reflection on management. It seems like my review is a pretty common one. Like I said, neither one was rude in any way. But, I could tell they didn't want to be here and clearly aren't treated well. When we walked in an employee was near the register, but instead of greeting us or helping, he rudely yelled for another guy to come help us. The the same guy who took our order also gave us our order and possibly made the sandwiches too. He wasn't the only employee, but the only one we saw working. I kind of assumed the other guy must be a manager. He was openly rude to the poor guy, no wonder he didn't smile. Happy employees are the best employees, it's management 101. Just my two cents! Firehouse is just great. I'm a freshman in high school and have no car, nor can i drive. So during the summer i would walk( about a mile, 30 minutes) form my house just to get a sandwich from their shop. I always get the #1 Hook and Ladder(turkey and ham with mayo) fully involved( but no mustard or onions). Contrary to what some might say that it cost $9 dollars and is very pricy. its not. don't listen to them. there wrong. You can get a medium #1 fully involved, with chips AND a drink for $7 dollars and something cents. that's it. nothing more. nothing less. There's about 20 or so different hot sauces and while I'm sure they are all good I always get the Aggie hot sauce(im an Aggie fan and its just plain good). If i had one complaint at all it would be that firehouse doesn't deliver. Lol if they delivered i wouldn't have to make the 30 minute walk. Starving for lunch, my friend recommended trying this place since we were in the area. The staff was very friendly and cheery which offered for a pleasant greeting. They were nice to make small talk with me and helped me decide between three different sandwhiches that struck my fancy. My friend swore by the meatball sub and so did one of the girls behind the counter, but seeing that I was wearing white, I just thought I would be begging for disaster. Maybe next time though. Instead, I went with the cashier's choice of the New York Steamer on wheat which also was in the running for my stomach. All of their subs come in 8 inches instead of the usual 6 so with the combo which includes chips and a drink, you'll be paying roughly $7 to $7.50. A little pricier then I was expecting. The sandwhich was good, but not anymore extraordinary then the other sandwhich places in near by proxcimity. I just wish that they had more veggie options to add onto the sandwhiches like some of the other sandwhich places because shredded lettuce, skimppy tomatoes, and slivers of onion only go so far. As a chain, my husband & I love Firehouse subs, so when we were in town, we had to stop. We live an hour away, so we were excited. This location did not live up to the Firehouse brand. Took 30 minutes to get our order when we were the only customers in line at the time. My husbands sandwich was made properly (because he didn't make any changes from the menu), but the bread was mush & there was hardly any meat. My sandwich was not close to what I ordered (shame on me for customizing my order & not sticking with the menu). The things I asked for were left off & the things I asked to take off were left on & my bread was mush. $20 in the trash can because neither of us could stand to eat it. If this was my first visit, I might not be as annoyed, but I've been to Firehouse several times & I know what to expect. Train your employees properly so that all your locations are consistent. We won't be back to any FHSubs ever with all of the options there are in the sandwich world. read more

Most all the reviews I see are dead accurate, so not much to say but give my recommendation. I give 4/5 stars because it is my #2 sub sandwich place, right behind Jersey Mike's. I'm giving them one star because the sandwiches are really good. One star is taken off because I paid for avocado and didn't get it. The manager went out to buy some and never came back. Was I supposed to wait more than the 15 minutes that I was already there for him to finish my sandwich, which was sitting in front of me? No. Three stars are removed because he clearly had his own lunch (did he polish of the avocado at that time?) and forgot to brush his teeth. There was food all in them, not just one mishap. My family eats here all the time. Like I literally have 55,000 points on my phone I eat here so much. I have never had such a bad experience like I am having right now. First of all the girl taking our order was very rude. Pretty sure she is the manager because her shirt has a collar. I have seen the owner in here before and I know they care about how their employees treat there costumers. My husband ordered tea and they were out. He had to stand up there and make her make more tea even with her arguing with him that they were to busy. And then proceeds to take more orders to get more behind. My husbands order came out wrong and mine had a long dark HAIR right on top when I opened it!!!! We have now been here 35 minutes and are still waiting on our sandwiches. Not to mention other costumers are clearly annoyed like we are. One man had to go up and ask about his sandwich and it was just sitting there ready in the bag. This location is the 1st Firehouse Subs we have visited, and we will not be back anytime soon. We ordered our food, and several minutes later, when they brought the food out, they had made my child's sandwich wrong. We told them as they brought it out, but the guy walked away. My husband went to the counter,and gave them back the wrong sandwich, and told them the correct order. 10 minutes later we were still waiting. My husband went up to the counter,and I someone told him it would be right out. A few minutes later, I went up to the counter and asked what was taking so long. The guy at the counter walked away without saying a word. Finally, after standing there for several miniutes, and being avoided by all the staff up front, I finally got the right sanwich. I was unimpressed with the staff. The girl that gave me the sandwich did say she was "sorry about that". Based on our experience, we will choose another sub place that offers the same quality, but much better customer service. This is not the way to treat a customer. read more
