Give me Firehouse over Subway any day. It's bittersweet because Firehouse reminds me of Quiznos in its prime; although, I think Quiznos was superior in quality to both of these delis. Tsk, tsk. I love Firehouse's steak and cheese sub. It is my go-to sammich. It amazes me how they put the right amount of mayo every time and I love me some mayo. Now, on this most recent outing, my sandwich was lukewarm and I don't understand why. I picked up my free medium sandwich, by the way, thanks to T-mobile Tuesdays, drove to the nearby mall and parked. That took all of...two minutes? My sandwich had the temperature of a sandwich that had been sitting for 10 minutes. Temp aside, the bread was pillowy soft, the steak was well seasoned and the peppers were on point. The medium is pretty filling too. Service was great and fast. Of course, there weren't many customers because of Covid, I imagine. Went to this firehouse location to pick up an order. They were out of the fries because the machine was down. Which was 100 percent ok. I asked the lady if I could get Mac and cheese and the girl wasn't even listening. She told the kitchen I wanted chips when I said Mac and cheese. I corrected the lady and she rolled her eyes and said "Im tired of these customers." right in front of me and didnt even apologize or anything. She has a horrible attitude and should not be in customer service. This is the second time I have been to this location and she has been very rude. It is clear the other workers are now struggling because of her poor attitude. They also forgot grilled onions and mushrooms on one of my sandwiches and put onion on the other when I asked for no onion. What's the point of working a job and being rude to your customers just because they are asking for what they ordered?! Won't be going back to this location and will be reporting this! read more

First impressions are everything. This is my first and last time ordering here. First, I ordered on their site and picked it up in store was I didn't verbally place the order. I also live in Harahan so driving back to get them to correct this isn't happening. I specifically asked for NO RAW ONIONS and PAID EXTRA for SAUTÉED ONIONS instead. Not a sautéed onion in sight. I usually like this place, but we had a weird experience. We ordered our food and paid and rounded up to donate to firefighters, but did not see the tip jar. We were getting weird looks from the people making the sandwiches. There was one guy who gave me the creeps. I was kind of worried about what was going to be in my sandwich then I realized there was a tip jar and I got it from my seat and went up and put money in it because I always tip. I just didn't see it at first. the sandwich was fine although I did get sick once I got home. Not sure why. I can't go somewhere where the people are looking at me and being all creepy and the man making the sandwichesand two women were just giving me the creeps. Not returning. So ambience isn't lighting up on this review and I just want to say the ambience of the restaurant is fine but the people are creepy. They were not friendly and kept staring at us with these strange looks. I am 68 years old, I was dressed fine, but I'm a white woman with another white person. I was nice and polite to them and gave them a tip when I remembered but the weird looks just creeped me out. I was a long time BIG fan of firehouse sub for many years, only to have very recently gotten extremely sick after having one of their foot long club sandwiches. Never have I been so sick with food poisoning before. After missing one and a half days of work, only to find out that my supervisors daughter, after eating at the same location, became just as ill, requiring medical attention. She's still recovering from dehydration. This is the second time in a couple years I've come sick after eating here. I chalked the first time up to a random issue because it was the first time after a long stretch. However after dismissing my concerns, I believe this is the next best avenue in expressing my concerns. After watching many trainees being trained here while picking up food, I believe food safety may have taken a back seat. read more

I've been accused of crafting lavish reviews so here's to keeping the balance: On my last visit to this Firehouse (typically eat here once a month), I was double insulted by being sold a combo meal when both Coke Freestyle machines were out of carbonation and then served a sandwich that was supposed to be a regular New York Steamer but looked like an Olive Garden breadstick cut in half and "filled" with two fork-fulls of meat. Normally, I'd demand a refund for such shenanigans, but I'm less than a month into a year of rehab for a leg injury that will keep me on crutches or a scooter for six months; it was a long week, I was tired, and I just needed a touch of delicious comfort in exchange for money. Instead, I got flat soda and a shrinkflation "meaty" breadstick. So in lieu of complaining, I'm just not coming back and I'm certainly not bringing my family back. read more

Just wanted to mention some inconveniences that occurred at belle chasse firehouse sub. I arrived at 8:40 pm yesterday & the whole lobby was mopped with very soapy water and no wet floor sign was nearby as a precaution. One worker had his pants below his butt for the whole store to see his boxers and that is very unsanitary.. Also, while my sandwiches were being made, the worker stopped to instead go and take her time printing out applications for two individuals who were not buying food. Made me feel very uncatered to as a customer who's paying for their food and to have it take so long was disappointing. Once I got my food, I noticed the male employee was mopping the front again to clean up the other individuals' foot tracks. However, that made me anxious for if I fell when I was exiting through these overly mopped floors.... Just wanted to throw this out there. read more

I looked at the menu online and noticed they had a pairing of half a veggie sandwich + salad so i went to the store to order that. The foot itself was good - a decent size, good flavor and overall tasty. This place has really good sandwiches. Its not a huge selection to choose from but what you can get does not disappoint. Ive only been once and tried 2 kinds of sandwiches. Both sandwiches were warm and delicious. It only comes with chips as a side so that was a bit of a bummer. Plenty of searing, clean area, has a nice open atmosphere. I like how the decor reflects the imagery of a firehouse. Metal chairs though are a lil uncomfortable and cold. It's not gonna keep me away though. I figured since management addressed my last review i figured i would give it another shot. Absolutely a circus run by poorly trained employees. I knew I was in trouble when the same person that prepared the table next to me for wrong made my sandwich. So after waiting 15 minutes, yeah you guessed it, it was wrong. Then it takes another 10 minutes to get a refund and they still couldn't get it right. My advise is close down for a couple of days and properly train your employees. Pretty good! I ordered a turkey bacon ranch sandwich. Turkey was really juicy, hefty pieces of bacon and the bread was light and fluffy. I would definitely stop by again for a nice warm sandwich. So my first visit here left me with mixed feelings. On the one hand, my sandwich was delicious. On the other, the chick at the register was kinda rude. Not so much in what she said, but in her attitude. Very brusk, no thank you, no smiles. I mean, I take my sandwiches seriously, but this was dedication to a bad mood gone awry. Guys, I am really REALLY disappointed with how absolutely terrible the service and food quality was here today. It was so bad that honestly I am never coming back and I have no doubt in my mind that this place is going to go under in near future if things continue on their current path. We came in as soon as they opened, so 10:30 am. No one welcomed us, we were just met with blank stares. Whatever, we ordered two large sandwiches, one Steak and Cheese and the other was Brisket and Cheddar. It took them over 20 minutes to prepare two sandwiches. There was only one person who had ordered ahead of us, so I have no clue why it took that long to make two subs. There were at least six employees there, so staffing was not the issue. We eventually get our sandwiches, and they were terrible. They did not toast the bread, our sandwiches were made incorrectly and the quality of the meat was poor. To make a bad situation worse, both my husband and I experienced stomach pains within an hour after leaving. This was literally our first meal of the day, so there is no question as to what could have caused our discomfort. I'm just happy our toddler did not eat anything while we were here, so at least he was spared feeling ill. Believe me when I say that you're better off going to Subway or any place that serves sandwiches for that matter. I would avoid this place like the plague, unless you enjoy bad food prepared by poorly trained employees. Eat here at your own risk! read more

WOW!! I have heard so much about fire house subs. I actually went out my way to eat lunch there today. The parking is not bad and the establishment is clean, and has an appeal to the eyes. From there it goes south. I ordered the Italian sub, with chili as a side. The Italian club is the worst sandwich I have had to date, and at a whopping 10$ with tax for a footlong is way over priced. The chili on the other hand was (the worst chili I have ever had). I thought I was eating warm apple sauce with Tabasco. So all in all the establishment is nice.
