It's got some really lovely bits and pieces - Glasgow road signs, vintage map wall art, luggage cases, Shetland wool blankets, chandeliers, furniture as well as wee decorative pieces. One of my favourite finds was a glass pineapple that has a silver coating and now sits on my lounge room table. I didn't realise but they also have a shop through in Edinburgh and an online store. With fantastic customer service and great, unusual pieces, I'll definitely be popping in more often.

These were so delicious I came away with one for mum and one for me. Other things that caught my eye were the range of blankets/throws and room diffusers. Staff here are extremely helpful and friendly (none of the pouncing/smothering approach some people go for) and a pleasure to do business with. If you need something lovely...time and tide. It's like an Aladins Cave, with crazy cushions, stately chaise's, and obscure objet d'art. Not to mention the lamps. They do sinceriously awesome lamps - from multi-bulbed (of different sizes!), glass dome encasements, to the brightly coloured giant miners lamps. If you're not careful, you'll miss that they have a downstairs too. We did, and the staff ( who were in no way pushing sales), pointed it out. Third is whet they have some great pictures, in a variety of styles - but I really liked a big pop art one. If I had loads of money, I could easily spend a fortune here! The stock for somewhere like this must rotate quite regularly, so I look forward to checking it out again in a few months time.

It's a nice store- much bigger inside then you would think- with absolutely gorgeous wood furniture from big double beds to good, solid chests of drawers. It's just such a shame we couldn't afford any of it. None whatsoever. We also weren't welcomed by the man behind the counter, who remained on the phone while looking over suspiciously at us. Hallalujah, we made a decision and bought our new living room and bedroom furniture! After…read moresearching and searching, we decided upon two separate sets here at The Livingroom on Dumbarton Road! When we stopped in months prior, neither of us had ever been in to this shop. Right as you step in, it's very welcoming and homely and the staff are quick to say hello which is a nice touch. Most of the furniture has a bit of a shabby chic feel to it, but the two sets we bought were more on the cozy modern type. We lucked out and the couches we bought were part of a managers special that day and we were able to get a great deal on the bedroom set because we ended up adding an extra piece on. The staff were really accommodating- we actually walked around the shop discussing our potential purchase for quite sometime. We had loads of questions about delivery and the price of extra furniture added on. Never once were we pressured in to making a decision right then and there which was nice. We actually walked around the west end for a bit and then made the decision to buy what we loved at The Livingroom and headed back. It took a bit of time to get everything written down and added up, but that was ok. We could have had our couches delivered straight away (at no extra charge), but we wanted everything delivered at once, and we needed to wait for a bedside table to come in to stock. No bother, we've been given enough time to find a new home for our old furniture. All in all, this shop is great. Loads to choose from and all top quality furniture. All wooden pieces have dovetail joineted drawers (which is the only kind we will buy) and everything is reasonably priced. There were other pieces we had our eyes on, so I'm sure we'll be back when we're ready to buy more.

We actually do want to redecorate so visiting here was nice for a bit of inspiration. I mean sure, make all the Pinterest boards you like but sometimes you need to go into an actual shop and talk to a real life person. The lady working here was so super friendly and chatty that I wanted to buy something just because she was so nice. I love the selection of stuff they have here - it's modern, it's chic, it's classy - and most of it didn't seem too expensive. She had a nice antique tea set out on the table which I totally loved but managed to resist buying because we already have over 100 mugs and I really can't justify adding more to the collection. They offer interior design services and have a lovely range of sample material swatches for you to look over. I'm not sure if you need to make an appointment or could just pop by, but I highly recommend going in for a visit to get you inspired. And there's a cushion which looks like a dragon from Game of Thrones, which is worth seeing alone.

Selling a little bit of this and little bit of that, it's hard to pigeonhole this long running business. Broadly speaking it's a hardware shop, but like many Glaswegian takes on this idea, it also stocks, well, just about everything you may need only once in your life but can't get anywhere else. This, however, is the top of the bunch, with larger premises than most of the others and very friendly staff to boot.

It sells everything." I was intrigued. Sure enough, when I checked it out with another friend who was taking his laptop upstairs to Mercury Computing I was amazed by the bizarre but wonderful stock - full of gadgets and gizmos. If they don't have what you're looking for they will be sure to track it down for you. A true treasure trove!

The shop also doubles as a workshop for the owner and this adds to the atmosphere. You feel like you're purchasing something extra special that has been hand decorated with love and care. There's a treasure trove of items from coat hangers and trinket boxes to things for children's rooms and furniture. The prices are very reasonable considering the work that goes in to each piece. I bought a painted wooden coat hanger for just £5. A great place to come for a gift or something to brighten up your home.

Wilton Glazing has been around for as long as I can remember - it's one of those places that has…read morejust always been there, and it's a handy place to have around. I went in today to get a piece of glass cut for a bathroom shelf. The chap was very friendly and helpful, took the measurements, advised on the thickness of glass I would be best with, and it was as easy as that. It was also only £6.86! I'll collect it in just under a weeks' time, which also seems pretty reasonable. They have other services too such as picture framing, and can cut mirrors, make mirror wardrobes etc. According to their invoice, they are also aluminium shopfront manufacturers. I will just have to take their word for that one.

Filled to the very brim with all that you would imagine of a place like this and more, i really cant be any more enthusiastic about this place. Having lived in this general area for the last 5 -6 years, this has always been my first stop when i have the "eh....is that broken?" moment. With a remedy for my home ailment usually in stock and a helpfull handy owner always willing to offer help and assistance a the drop of a hardhat (boom, boom!!), the West End Hardware is the finest of place to be....... Sorry Bo-Concept - but I really was not impressed…read more Yes, you have a lot of attractive furniture. Yes, some of your smaller homeware pieces aren't too overpriced (especially in the sale). But that's where my positives stop. First up, for a so-called upmarket furniture store, I thought this place was actually really grubby. A bit of floor mopping wouldn't have gone amiss, and you'd have been wise to have removed the used coffee cups from your £400 dining tables. Secondly, your staff were not welcoming. We were given some really dirty looks by a certain member of your staff, and that was even before I'd (quite loudly) complained about the aforementioned coffee cups. And thirdly - a piece of your pretentious £350 "artwork" (you know the type, where someone has typed out a lot of cliched so-called life advice on a canvas in different fonts) had a pretty serious spelling mistake in it. And don't try telling me that was intentional. Next time I want to spend a large chunk of my hard earned cash on some furniture - I won't be doing it here.

Went in for the first time today because after reading those last wonderful reviews, I was overcome with morbid curiosity! Poe-faced Concept doesn't fail to disappoint on the arrogance front - although I wasn't given the cold, hard stare I expected from staff, I was largely ignored by them, which suited me fine since I could act like a fly on the wall and be left in peace. I obviously look poor - that's fine guys, it's entirely true! But you can't condemn a girl for dreaming! Since I've been subtly branded a poor working class girl, my cankered fingers had to surrepticiously reach for the price tag...I had to stop my jaw from dropping when I saw it was 150 quid for an EX DISPLAY lamp. Yes, that's right - Ex Display. Bugger off. Even if there ever comes a day when i have money to burn frivolously on items such as these, I doubt I would ever bother. Sure, they looked pretty but seriously, get real. If you were loaded, some trendy items in here may appeal - some of the stock is undeniably beautiful. Unfortunately, this place lacks the innovation and laid back vibe of Habitat, nor does it possess the charm and imaginative quirk of its West End rivals. It announces new arrivals in the window like we should roll out the red carpet for their overpriced (but, got to admit, nice) sofas - there's just something a bit off about this place. By all means go for a browse as they have some lovely stock but interior design competition has sprung up all over the place. So although Bo Concept may have been top dog a few years back, it's going to have to change its stand offish aura before it can attract a wider audience. And as Eleanor said, the richest people are quite often the least likely to flaunt it, so never judge a book by its deceptively dog-eared cover. You'll lose business if you do.
