Tradesman's prices were much higher to start and after negotiating, Shorty's gave me a discount. CanPro tried to sell me an oversized furnace (80K instead of 60K, which is what I needed) and said that their "standard" furnace was as good as a "premium" which my research doesn't suggest. The gent who came out (Thomas) told me everything I needed to know and was thorough. Tradesman and CanPro were less so. No problems with the company/payment. Installers (2 plumbers for the tank, 2 for the furnace) were pleasant, professional, efficient and helpful. No hesitation recommending Shorty's. Local business!

Great service and always great advice on how to maintain our AC. He explained the cause of our AC not blowing cool air, replaced the part, and repaired some damaged wiring. Also mentioned possible situations that may come up in the future with our 15 year old unit that Can-Pro installed. Also showed how to keep better air flow with our vents in the basement coming up to our main floor! So appreciated that tip! We have been very happy with our Can-Pro AC unit. I had three companies come out to give me a quote on furnace/ hot water heater replacement. The…read moreother two, my own research and the size of my old furnace suggested a 60,000 BTU unit was the right one. CanPro tried to sell me an 80k one. Nope. Much better to undersize slightly than oversize. Also said they could get my any brand I wanted but I mentioned 3 well known "premium" brands (Daikin, Lennox and Carrier) and they couldn't get any of those. Also said that you're only paying for the name, which I don't agree with. Better controls, all stainless instead of stainless/aluminum, longer life span, better warranty etc. The price was low but I had no confidence buying from them. Maybe they were just trying to move the units they had in stock?
