I've been taking my cars to this place for years and this time was very different for the worst. I'll just be factual. Today, I showed up on the dot for inspection and oil change. I didn't have a ride, so I asked how long would it take and they said 1h30m. As I was waiting, I told them that I was going to wait at Panera next door. After 1h30m, I came back, the car was starting to be looked into. After another 45 minutes I was told that my car needed 4 tires to pass the inspection, and they were going to start changing the oil, so I asked them why did it take 2h15m minutes to figure out that my car needed 4 tires and the oil change was still pending. 30 second after the manager, Mario, came out and gave me a big attitude, saying they take the time they feel it's necessary raising his voice at me, and stated that if I had to go to the doctor, I would've waited without complaining. He was very rude and far from having a "manager" profile. In the first 30 to 40 minutes they could've called me and let me know that the inspection would not pass without replacing the tires and I would just ask them to replace them end of story. ...wow ! ....arrived at 8:10 for an oil change on a Tuesday morning appointment, and several cars were already in the shop...thought I was going to wait for hours...Shawn, the Manager, greeted me and said the car would be in the shop in five minutes...yea, I thought, here we go again....AMAZING ! ...the car was ready and waiting for me at 8:45 ! Went to have the ignition switch changed on my car; remove 4 screws, replace module, replace 4 screws. No programming, no removing steering wheel or dashboard, just plug & play, they quoted $800. Bought the part on Amazon for $32.00 and replaced it myself. Avoid this place at all costs! read more

I would recommend anyone considering using this Firestone Auto Care center to think twice and should consider a different business to have work done on their car. the quality of work is at the lowest level. The skill level or proper training of employees does not seem to exist. I have also run into two other individuals that have had to replace there cars because of the damage that was done by poor quality of work. The only were driving the car after work was done for a few days before it stopped working and could not be drive. The local dealer and the corporate staff, were of no help. They were so unprofessional they could not return phone calls or emails. As a person that worked in the corporate environment for over 40 years, starting at the bottom and working my way to a senior position. I find this shocking. Take my advice find a repair or service shop and save yourself time, money, stress and aggravation. read more

Outstanding experience. I brought my truck in for a tire rotation and balance and got an excellent deal and was out the door faster than expected. When I called up to get an appointment, Shawn explained that he could acomodate me the next day. He explained what the options were and gave me a fantastic price on tire rotation and balancing. I came in the next day and Shawn was friendly and helpful and efficient - and a great guy in general. He got my car in, I did a little work on my computer, and then was out the door in under an hour. Phenomenal job. The car is perfectly straight and balanced. Shawn also explained how easy it was to use my Firestone card even though I did not have the card with me; and all my service reports and invoices were emailed to me. The shop was easy to find, plenty of parking, and well organized. The shop also had a good waiting area. This was my second experience with Firestone at two different locations in two months - and both were top notch. read more

I am a 22 year old female and I brought my car here for a diagnosis because my car started bucking and my check engine light came on. I paid $115 for a diagnosis. An hour later I was called and they told me that one of the coils on the right side of my engine needed to be replaced. They tried talking me into getting all 3 coils on the right side of my engine replaced along with spark plugs (which I didn't need done) for $1500. After going back and forth on prices, they finally told me that it was going to cost me $875 for the repair/labor for the one coil that needed to be replaced. I called around and brought my car somewhere else and I had my car repaired at a honest shop for $280 along with a car inspection. DO NOT bring business here. They attempt to take advantage of young women and are extremely rude. Complete scam. read more

Brought in car for an oil change, was told the price was $80. After calling and saying they would replace the air filter with no indication of a price increase, told me it would be ready at 3:20. After arriving at 3:20, made me wait until 4, only to then have me put in my card with no indication that the price was increased to $320. When asked about the price increase, they told me that they called a completely different person not connected to the order, then said I was accusing them of lying, and yelled at me until I payed. I call at 4:30pm, and get some guy named Keith on the line that says "You seriously thought you would get Brian at 4:30 pm?" they then continued to be rude to me throughout the call and I hung up. I thought maybe this company would redeem itself because they didn't want their true colors shown on the internet where everyone can see, but all they did was try to clean up a stain by pulling a rug over it. The team of Ed and Kyle are amazing always a friendly face and a professional response to any issue, the team of techs are just as awesome and have been constant since I have been going there. Having worked in the auto industry for many years (which I have never let them know) they have never over sold or given me any reason to not trust their judgments. In fact one time actually brought the car from AAMCO after was told the car needed a bunch of stuff and was failing for an item that they advised me was no longer on the NYS inspection list. That my friends is honestly. They passed the car and all my cars now come to them. They are fair in the prices and the services is above very good. The last time I had any servicing done with my vehicle before switching back to Volkswagen of Smithtown I used to go to Mavis in selden and I had nothing but problems with them it was a horrific horror show at that place. I needed an oil change today and since Volkswagen is closed on the weekends I decided to check this place out. Originally when I called I spoke to Zach who was friendly and very helpful and had told me I can bring my car in for an oil change and that my car would be finished by the end of the day. Upon arriving here he was continuously very friendly and very very helpful. He definitely kept his promise despite me calling back many times and being a pain in the ass lol. The technicians here are very good and so honest. Efficient and reliable service every time. The lifetime alignment service is the best deal for your car around. I've been trusting my cars with Firestone from Boston to NJ to LA same service no matter where you are. Always willing to give good honest advice and take care of their customers . Ed and Kyle are so helpful. I will say I moved recently to Port Jeff and have tried out that Firestone and honestly not even close to as good as these guys. 5 stars all the way. The care these guys and girls have for there customers is great, the y have me a ride home when I dropped my car off for an oil change and alignment. They also fixed a problem with my front right wheels suspension free of charge when they found it. I was a couple minutes after closing to pick up my car and they stayed behind for me. I like coming here. I use this location for maintenance services (e.g. new tires, oil changes, alignments, inspections, etc). The staff is friendly and extremely helpful. They tend to accommodate by providing same day appointments. They've been courteous like if it's raining, they park our car in front of the shop. If I ask a question, the front desk person doesn't know the answer, they'll get the appropriate person who's qualified to answer. They even offered to drive me home when my car was stalling out. I brought my car in late and they stayed after closing to finish the job. I have no complaints. read more

Attention Firestone Customer Care, A few days ago my wife brought our 2010 Sebring to the Coram N.Y. Firestone for an oil change and to check the heater. When we called because it was taking longer than was stated the tech on the phone said it was almost done. When we asked if they did the oil change he didn't know, then a few seconds later said it was done. The bottom line is it doesn't appear they did it. They never did the 19 point inspection that comes with every oil change and never replaced the old sticker. Now for the main reason we went to Firestone in the first place. Our heating system! They did a diagnostic on our vehicle and determined that it was our blower motor resistor that was recently replaced. When we told them it was replaced recently they had nothing to say except let us put it back together and pick it up in a few! When we got there they charged us a diagnostic fee of 57 dollars for diagnosing a part that we already had replaced and for an oil change and inspection that appears to not been done. They never even told us what was wrong with the heater and still charged us! Oh and one more thing she went in there with a low tire alert and that was never checked! This is very alarming to me especially as a former mechanic. This is becoming a pattern! Last year I brought in to the same location my 2014 Altima for a routine oil change and was told that my car that is fully under warranty needed a new tire pressure sensor and when I asked isn't that covered in my warranty they replied oh yes that's correct. Now remember I received an oil change that comes with the 19 point inspection! Long story short the tire just needed air! These are just a few instances that I can remember of the top of my head! I also stopped recommending Firestone because when I sent friends there they tried doing the same things to them. That includes the Selden N.Y. and Coram N.Y. locations that have tried to prey on people who don't know any better. I am a long time Firestone customer and as of this writing will be taking my business elsewhere along with my recommendations. I am upset that a reputable brand would do these type of things to people who struggle to get by and take money from them unnecessarily.
