I agree with a prior poster who said that if there were negative ratings to give, this would be the place to give them. I was so frustrated with the "service" I received from this establishment that I opened a complaint with the BBB; nothing was resolved and the nightmare still continues. I went to Firestone to have an alternator replaced. Yes, Mike at the front desk is very personable, but he wasn't my mechanic so it's meaningless in the long run. I was advised to replace the serpentine belt because it was worn. I agreed, and that was the wrong thing to do - several weeks of driving around with a screaming banshee of a vehicle, being told by Firestone staff that I needed to "think positive," and "there is no noise," I discovered on my own that they had installed the incorrect belt. It was too short so they threaded it onto the pulleys incorrectly to make it fit. I found out about it when the belt flew off. I could have died. Luckily I was parked at the time. The belt was replaced with the correct one (not by Firestone). Now I have taken my vehicle in to another mechanic for a tune-up - and I'm being advised to replace the belt and tensioner. AGAIN. I think there was permanent damage to the pulleys, the timing of all the functions, and I've had to pay three times now for a belt? This place sucks as much as any place can. DON'T TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THEM. They treated this paying customer like a non-entity, screwed up my vehicle, and didn't care to resolve the problem at all. The BBB still gives them an A+ rating and I don't trust the BBB any more, they're all in bed with each other. And Firestone doesn't care about your life. They just want your money and for you to shut up about it. read more

I told him clearly that I called yesterday and was put down. He told me maybe I have the wrong place. The Reason it's only 4 Star the mechanic who works in my car was careless I saw greese in the arm rest and doorjam. Most repair shop I know they cover your floor mat seat before they do the work but this mechanic who works in my car doesn't care and didn't bother to check if he made mess in my car. Not sure what the fuss is as I have had about as good of an experience here as I'd expect from a shop like this. Its mainly a tire/alignment shop so don't go there looking for repairs, oil changes, etc. Stick to a mechanic shop or your local oil change spot if you're looking for that. I brought in a coupon for the lifetime car alignment and they accepted without blinking an eye. Tires were mounted and alignment done in the promised amount of time. No unnecessary sales pitches either. I plan on going back for my new car whenever its time for tires or alignment again. read more

I brought my car in today without an appointment. I had had an EXTREMELY stressful day and I had just dropped a friend off at the airport. When I got back to the airport parking lot and turned my car on, the check engine light was on. I live all the way in Pleasant Hill, so I was pretty far from home. I knew I would have to drive through a bridge and a tunnel to get home and was worried that my car was unsafe. After the day I'd had, it was definitely the "straw that broke the camel's back." I have always gone to Firestones to get my car serviced, so I Googled the nearest one and drove there. I was in tears when I got there, and Jose was so kind to me. He saw I was upset and reassured me that they would do what they could to help and offered me water. He personally checked the check engine code for me. The light randomly decided to turn off after he did the check, and he helped answer my questions about my car's safety to drive. Jose, one of the employees here, realized i was standing with daughter and needed help - my car had some engine problem with lifters making sound. We had an issue with our car not starting. After calling a couple of places, this Firestone store was the only one who would be able to fit us in on a Saturday. Originally, they were going to charge us $25 to run an electrical system check. After a few hours, they weren't able to narrow down the problem. One of their techs (didn't get a name) guessed that it might be an issue with our car alarm. Within a few minutes, he was able to get our car starting again. He even explained to us how to fix the issue if it happened again. In the end, we didn't even get charged as they didn't run any service on our car. Would come back again. read more

Horrible service. I had dropped my car off at 8am and the best they could offer for a pick up was 6pm. They had told me that they couldnt get to it, and it would be ready in the morning. I called about 10am and they said they still couldn't do the tire rotation. I had stopped by at 5pm and they had just finished it, yet no phone call to tell me to pick it up. Waste of time and money! I went to Firestone Complete Auto Care Millbrae, CA to get my oil change and AC check and repair. I arrived at 8:30am, and got my car at 5:30pm. I am not even complain about the extreme long wait, but the service there is the worse in my life. During the 9 hrs service, I not even get a call about my status of my car. I have to come there to ask. The front desk women "Elaine" told me that my car is still not done. I waited for 20min. The car is done but she said she has no time to find out the price and make the quote to fix the AC. She told me to wait a day or two. At that moment, I already know she is not going to find out the price to fix my car. I called back later, as I expect, always told me to wait. If they don't want to fix anything, they should not charge my the $39.99 AC diagnostic fee. This shop is to a limit that they worker don't even want to do business any more. Brought my very expensive and classic vehicle in to get tires mounted that I had shipped from tire rack. The extremely amateur staff attempted to mount the tires in the wrong direction and damaged all the lips of the wheels. The corporate office has been nothing but rude, not helpful, and saying that they did nothing to cause the damage. My car was perfect when I brought it in and now have over 1000$ in damage. I will be taking this store to small claims court in hopes that they will learn how to treat their customers better. read more

I will join the chorus of disappointed voices. the only redeeming quality to this place is that they are open on Sundays, unlike pretty much every other mechanic around. So, it happens that I've had to take my car in here instead of to, you know, actual good mechanics, when I've had car troubles on the weekend. One time they did manage to fix my car although it took them quite a bit of trial and error. Fair enough, the car doesn't speak and tell you what's wrong with it. But they've also been stumped and/or unavailable and I've left without getting my problem fixed. That and the service here is rather poor. I checked in at the front desk and I followed the lady's direction to park my car in the driveway of their garage and waited for assistance. She got a hole in a tire while driving on the freeway about a mile away from this location. She went there in need of help with an emergency and they turned her away. Told her to come back tomorrow. I drive a fleet vehicle. I drive this vehicle all over the United States for my profession. Any where in the country I have driven my vehicle I use Firestone Auto care for the service on this vehicle. If I could 0 these guys out I would the laziest auto care business I had had the misfortune to to have to use while traveling. I handed them the coupon from the fleet package and they did one thing of about 15 that were scheduled for the mileage of the vehicle. I have to make them check the brakes along with the tires for repair. The best part of the 4 hours I spent sitting in the waiting room was they threw out the K&N air filter I had in the truck. Sitting in the waiting room is the key to the tossed filter, I was sitting in the waiting room just ask.If you have a choice go some where else for service on a vehicle. This is my first time going to a Firestone, and I definitely wasn't disappointed. The guy who's running the show, Victor, is doing the work of three people as of now and he could definitely use some extra hands in there. But he manages to keep things together and he was able to give me an honest estimate of when my car will be available. For example, he told me around 4pm it would be all done and I got a call around 4:02pm. I dropped the car off around 9am, so it did take a little while to get the job done, but he was honest about that and that's what important to me. I wish I could give them negative stars. I came in with a semi flat tire, as I had a nail in my tire. They told me the tire needed to be replaced, no problem. I arrived at roughly 10:15. I asked them how long approximately are we looking at, as I had my son with me. He told me 10 to 30 minutes. I left there at 12:45 . It took over two hours to change one tire. When I spoke to the manager he was like " O we forgot to put your keys out in the garage. For one tire it was 198.00 including install. If I could have made it to America's tire in Redwood City, I would have gone there in a heart beat. Don't waste your time or money. Okay, I found out the hard way on this one. Brought in the wife's car for an alignment on a Saturday morning. We call back same day asking if its okay to leave the car there overnight, we get a very whiny rep pleading with us to pick it up, and we kindly tell them no. Well, the next day, the wife picks up the car, they don't even give her a receipt and the alignment report. But to top it all, the leave a dirty battery charger on the passenger seat, which left dirt and crud all over it. These guys really suck. read more

Very poor customer service. At least the jerk at the front desk. He assumed we are ignorant fools and gave us conflicting statements all throughout our short conversation. We needed an alignment on a Saturday morning and he said it was going to be hard but we could leave the car and he would see what he can do. We then mentioned that we had bought a contract for lifetime alignment service with Firestone. He then said they do not honor that. Over the years, we never had problems getting alignment services in other branches in the Bay Area. After moments of arguing, he finally checked his computer and found the contract. He then insisted that we need to make an appointment and that they are busy the whole of next week. We then asked to leave the car to see if they can get it done today (as per what he said initially) and he said no. I think the jerk's name is Hugh. After that we called another Firestone location and was able to schedule an appointment the next day. Same company Firestone, separate locations. Went to the Millbrae Firestone yesterday. .. while waiting in line... there was only one guy, Victor, behind the counter doing literally EVERYTHING all at once! Picture this: The phone was ringing off the hook, 8+ ppl in line, one guy was having issues with his gift card, follow up phone calls being made, answering questions, booking appts, assigning work orders, and overhead confirmations for different approvals for work... this guy was a one man show! He was so calm and cool... even making the customers waiting in line laugh with his wit and charm. It was great. He really needs to be commended on his ability to multi task like nobody's business. This place is CRAP. They overcharge for everything and have horrible service. I've gone for a couple of oil changes and every time before I leave, I'm told I need hundreds of dollars of repairs done that I know I don't need (I know my way around a car and have a mechanic specifically for repairs who agrees with me that they are trying to take advantage). Funny part is, when it's my fiancee who goes in, the car is cool and everything is cheaper. I think the owner is a ripoff artist who tries to take advantage of people he believes are uninformed. Such a great experience. It was a stressful Sunday because I was told by another car shop I had a nail in my tire. Being that it's Sunday, no tire shops were open and I was scared it would pop driving to work on Monday. I finally found a shop open which was Firestone and headed straight there. They told me there was an hour wait and after 20 minutes they came out and told me they checked it and the nail actually didn't go through and there was no hole! It was a relief, but their customer service is really what wowed me! They handed me my keys and free of charge I left. No labor fee or service fee and no new tire made for a great experience. Hopefully my experience can be a lesson for others who know a little bit about cars but are trying to save money. First let me say what these guys did right: They did in fact change my oil without setting the car on fire or accidentally driving it off of a cliff. For that they earn one star. Here's what they did wrong: 1. When they changed the coolant they forgot to add new coolant so when I drove the car away from the garage my coolant light immediately came on and I had to go back to get it filled properly. 2. I had two new tires put on the front. Firestone specializes in tires so this should be an easy one for them right? Wrong. As soon as I took it on the freeway I found out that the tires weren't balanced properly. The manager's response when I brought it back? That should never happen! Oh, but it did. 3. In order for them to do the three things listed above (oil, tires, coolant), it took them over a week. Every time I called I was told they'd get back to me the next day. I had to make 3 separate trips to see them (4 if you count the time I left and came right back the same day). 4. When I finally got my car back there was grease everywhere in the interior. Grease on the steering wheel, the seats (including the passenger seat, which makes me wonder what anyone was using the passenger seat for). 5. They told me that my front bushings were shot and I'd need to pay $900 to have them fixed. Since that didn't sound right, I took the car to another mechanic that specializes in BMW's. He told me the bushings were fine and that Firestone was just trying to get some extra money off of me. 6. Just to add insult to injury, when I picked up my car and got it onto the freeway, I realized that they hadn't closed my hood properly and it was just hanging on by the safety catch. Ooops. Overall, this Firestone center does in fact suck. But I must emphasize again, they did not actually pour sugar in my gas tank or graffiti their names across my front quarter panel. And for them, I'm sure that this is a massive step in the right direction. P.S. while I was in line I heard another customer arguing with the manager about quality issues. read more

Brought my truck in for a brake service. Intial quote was 200+ change. For pads and rotors resurvice. After inspection they told me my front brakes were metal to metal, and they couldn't resurvice my rotors. Said it would cost 540.00+ to fix it. I called bs. Went to oriellys across the street. Bought rotors and pads for 100.00+ change. Went to my friend's shop where we changed out the brake pads and rotors. My pads were no where near metal to metal as Firestone rep said. My brakes were due for a change as the sensor was contacting it. But I still had time. Watch out for over sell. Ask them to prove their findings. read more

I've never had an issue with their maintenance work done on my car, but don't expect great customer service from this place. They're always understaffed and slow. Every time you go in (even with an appointment) you'd have to wait 10-15 minutes before anyone acknowledges you and checks the car in... same thing with pick-up.
