This place is full of excuses. They straight up lied to me. Don't use them. Avoid at all costs.

DONT DO IT TO YOURSELF OR YOUR POCKETS! The mechanics don't care and some are clueless. I took my 2013 Chevy Equinox to them and I regret it. I should have did some research first. First they had this little boy ( someone just hired) call me to tell me some bogus stuff and when I started asking questions his response was "I don't know ma'am this is what they told me to call and tell you" um instant red flag. After that they called to tell me that they ran a diagnostic when the computer reader and it came up with the same code I told and showed them. So he said we're going to try some things. Over the 3 days they tried multiple things and if it didn't work they still added it on to my bill and charged me for their mess up. Then they order a $900 computer for my vehicle and all of a sudden my car is "fixed" after. $2000 bill I was heated! Never again! Not in a million years would I recommend them. read more

I needed someone to take a look at one of my tires, which is only two months old but had been consistently running low. I chose the most conveniently located store in the area, which happened to be this Firestone. I was fully prepared to drop my car off and come back later in the afternoon, given that I did not have an appointment. When I arrived, the man at the counter was very gruff in informing me that there were 8 cars ahead of mine and he would get to my car if he could. He told me I'd have to leave the car there, to which I responded that I had intended to do that anyway. I asked him to call before performing any work, because if I needed a new tire I'd want to know the price before committing to it. At about 4:45 (the store closes at 5 on Sundays), I called to check on the status of my car and was (again very curtly) informed that someone had just called and left a message telling me it was ready (turns out that was true, I'd been in a bad cell reception area). It should be noted that no one called to let me know the price before doing the work -- luckily, it was a fix-a-flat situation and all that was required was a patch. Overall, although the work performed and the price were adequate, I found the attitude of the people working at this location to be really unpleasant. They acted like they were doing me a favor, not like I was a valued customer. I won't be returning. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS BUSINESS. I took my car in for an oil change. Had 1 pm appt but my car wasn't finished until 5pm. Then a week later I heard dragging noise from my car and found that they didn't reattach the engine splash under my car correctly. Had to bring in so they could fix that and they didn't apologize or anything. Then same thing happened and I saw that the engine splash on the other side came undone. I contacted the main office and they made an appt for me to go back and the contact was the manager Billy. Even though this is the second time I have had to bring my car back, I still had to wait half an hour to get my car serviced. No apologies, no concern for all the time wasted so that I can pay $87.76 for an oil change. They are incompetent and could care less about the work they do. read more

I have had a good experience in the past with this Firestone, but that ended after my experience here on Monday. I went in to get a flat fixed and left happy. Then, a few days later after Isaac, I went outside to find the same tire flat again. I am writing this review sitting at the other Firestone on Camp Street, who told me that not only did they NOT fix my tire (due to the leak being outside of the repairable area) but they also failed to notice a huge cut in my other tire that would have cost me a lot more money down the road. I am waiting for my two new tires and pissed that I wasted my time at the other location. Luckily I have tire insurance with them, so I didn't waste my money there as well. read more

Incredibly slow and unapologetic staff. I specifically made an appointment in order to avoid waiting and I've been waiting almost two hours for an oil change. I can see my car in the bay and no one is touching it yet employees are fraternizing with each other. Prices are more expensive than other places. Do not come here for an oil change. It took them six hours and they didn't call when it was finished. The appointment times are irrelevant; they just do it whenever they can. When I arrived to wait in person, they did not tell me when it was done and had me sit in the waiting room for 45 minutes after it was completed. Very frustrating experience. read more

The location in South Carrolton used to have a ton of customer service commendations on the wall and a couple of very helpful, honest, friendly service providers at the front counter. What happened to chase them off? The guys at Delta World Tire located at 407 North Broad provide a more Honest service, similar to what this Firestone location used to provide. If you do business with this or any Firestone location, always have them show you your old busted part that "Needed" to be replaced. I went in because my car was pulling to the right. I was quoted just under $2000 for 4 new tires and suspension all that were "Needed" he said. I went down to Delta World Tire where one new tire fixed the pulling issue. Remember that episode of Family Guy where there was an Asian woman driver crossing 8 lanes of traffic with no signaling at all? Well my driving isn't thattt bad, but I did end up popping 2 tires when I hit a curb this morning. Boo -.- Anyway, AAA towed me to this location, and overall, I'm meh about the experience, thus the 3 stars. The sales rep (I think) Kevin was very helpful. He explained which tires I needed, why, and gave me a discount on the tires since I had a coupon, even though the coupon didn't apply (they didn't have the tires that the coupon applied to in stock). It ended up being around $260 to replace 2 tires, which is a huge dent in a student's pocketbook still. Overall experience was just OK because I had to wait a long time (I hate waiting)... thank goodness my ninja was there with me and had his car so I didn't have to sit there for 2 hours. Also, I asked for the free courtesy check, which I don't know if they did, cause my maintenance light was on but they didn't mention anything about it when I picked my car up... And it's still lit. I recently took in a flat tire to see if they could repair it for me, but unfortunately not only was there a pretty big nail hole (reparable), the sidewall had been worn thin and it could not be patched. When they told me I would have to replace it for ~$200 I told them I needed to think about it (ie, do some research and price checking). The guy who assisted me throughout the process, Steve, was very understanding and not at all pushy. I ended up taking my rim back the next day to have them put on the new tire. And even though I showed up less than an hour before closing (I meant to leave it overnight and pick it up the next day), Steve had the new tire on and replaced it on my car for me in no time. Literally less than 30 minutes, in and out. When I got my car back the technician had also replaced my spare (in the unnecessarily convoluted holder under my trunk). Thanks to Steve this whole experience went from being annoying to... ok, still annoying! BUT, also impressive in how well the customer service was handled. Thanks guys! read more

Firestone is the only place in New Orleans that sells the tires that I've got on my car, so whenever I get a flat, I head over here to have them evaluate/fix/replace the tire. The staff treated me in a professional manner [even though i'm a college student] and gave me solid advice. My tire was punctured in a marginal area kinda between the middle and the sidewall. Most shops would have plugged it and sent me on my way, but Firestone walked me into the service bay, showed me the screw in my tire, and explained why it would be best to replace the tire for safety's sake. I could have gone over and gotten it plugged at a less reputable establishment, but who wants a blowout on I-10 at 4 AM??? Not me. 3 stars for the absurdly long time it has always taken to do even simple things like replace my tire or change the oil. Also, the shop is quite pricey. Always google for coupons though - got an oil change for 12 bucks thanks to a coupon. W00t! read more

UPDATE: Just got a call from the dealership. There was a nail in the MIDDLE of my tread. NOT in the side wall like I was told by Firestone. Firestone Rep told me I needed a BRAND NEW TIRE, when all I needed was a tire plug. Saved over $100 by not getting my services at this location. PREVIOUS: Helpful and overall good experience. Sadly they did not carry the same brand of tire that came with my car, so I ended up back at the dealership. My only gripe is that when the salesman called me back to tell me I needed a new tire, I politely told him that I wanted to discuss it with my girlfriend, since it's her car...and he replied with a curt "well hurry up." I thought that was a bit unnecessary and poor customer service. read more

If I could give them negative stars I would. They try to take advantage of you any way they can. Quoted me $2400 for a sway bar, ball joints, alignment, tire. Called around and got quotes for half that! Even funnier I called the firestone in mobile and it was also way cheaper. Wound up having it towed to the dealership and they gave me $3k for it as a trade in for a brand new one! This place is only good for tire repairs. I was apprehensive about coming here, since I always take my car to Cacamo's on Bienville (they brought it back from the dead after it was "totaled" by flooding. That was three years ago). But Cacamo's doesn't do tires, and Kehoe Tires (where I had great service last time) isn't open Saturdays, so I headed to Firestone. Walked in and there was no one inside. After a minute, a manager named Russell came in and asked me what I needed--two back tires for my old-ass Corolla, here are my keys. He said it would be 45 minutes and that there was a special on those tires, so my total would be $105. Settled in with a book, and about 45 minutes to an hour later, my car was good to go and I had two new tires for $10 cheaper than Kehoe. Timely service; no price gouging, no-frills service. Horrible. Horrible. Dropped car off for four new tires to the tune of $650. Was told 3-4 hours. No problem. After four hours, I call them and they tell me 30-45 mire minutes. I show up an hour later to be told it's still not ready. I told them forget it and get my car down and just give it back to me. Then manager proceeds to go into the garage and scream and curse at the responsible technician where everyone in the waiting room can hear him. Very uncomfortable situation. Want to get ripped off, sometimes with a smile? Total con artists. I tried THREE times to get a slow leak fixed, INCLUDING on Friday Morning at 7:15 am. Each time told I had to wait for an hour an a quarter, which I knew was bs. Fixing a tire is not rocket science. Finally he says I can make an appointment. I show up at 3 pm on time, he has the appointment, and at FOUR PM I am still waiting. Firestone is a con job. They insist on getting your name and telephone number. I need a phone to fix a slow leak? Essentially because I set me entire day around their "appointment," I missed the beautiful friday Mardi Gras Parades. AND GET THIS: So I go to a tire shop on Earhart, the guy looks at it, sees the problem, and confirms I need a new tire. THIS TOOK LESS THAN A MINUTE!!! Firestone could have easiy done this. They didn't. Instead they made me wait in line, take my name and phone number and write up an order. So after three visits, SCREW FIRESTONE. Don't Go There unless you want to be conned. I have been a fan of Firestone for many years and never had an issue until I moved to New Orleans. I took my car in on 9/17/15 for an oil change and tire rotation. I knew I had a nail in my front tire and I asked to have it removed and plugged. While my car was being serviced the service advisor, Francois called me over to say I needed 2 new tires and quoted me a price of $131 each, but if I bought right then and there it was $98.99 each. I asked what other options for tires he had and I was told that's the only tires Firestone had to fit my car. I have a very common economy car and knew this was not true. I told him I wanted to do some research. I went online and found Firestone carries numerous (about 10 different ones) tires to fit my car. Some cheaper that what he quoted me. I was also told I needed to replace my cabin air filter @ a price of $49.99 and my engine air filter @ $14.99 (it was buy one air filter and get one half off) with a $20 charge for labor. I told him I wanted to wait because I felt that was a little too high. At this point he became very rude by telling me I need to get these items for my car. I told him all I wanted was the oil change, tire rotation and plug. He then tells me they can't plug my tire because the nail is in the side wall of the tire. I knew it was not, but was tired of dealing with him. When paying I was over-charged for my oil change. I had a coupon, but they forgot to include in the transaction. My bill was adjusted I paid and left. After leaving Firestone I searched for air filters for my car. I went to AutoZone and purchased the SAME cabin air filter for $4.99. Firestone is charging a 1,000% mark up!! I am fine with mark ups for the sake of my convenience, but 1,000% is ridiculous. In less than an hour I watched two you tube videos, drove to AutoZone, came home and changed both air filters for less than $23. While I was changing my air filters I noticed I a nail was still in the same front driver's tire. Thinking they didn't rotate my tires I drove back to Firestone. When pulling up the technician, Maxwell, who did the work on my car saw me in the parking lot and asked if everything was OK. I showed him the nail in my front tire. He promised me he did rotate the tires and after checking all my tires he pointed out another nail. He admitted he over-looked the 2nd nail. I asked why they couldn't be plugged. He said they could, the service advisor had told him I didn't want them repaired. I went back inside to speak with the service advisor. I told him I wanted both tires plugged. He had the technician complete the service. While waiting I asked the service advisor why I needed 2 new tires when the tread wasn't that bad on my tires and the holes could be plugged. I asked what was the benefit of buying new tires when I am trading the car in the next 6-8 months. He said, "oh if you are trading the car in that soon you don't need new tire. What you have on there is fine". If it's fine for the next 6-8 months why was he so insistent I buy the tires that day. I understand businesses upsell and suggestive sell to increase their profits, but I am very disappointed in the service I received on this day. I was being pressured into buying something without being asked of my needs, driving habits, etc. After being a faithful Firestone customer for 20+ years I need to reconsider where I spend my money. read more

Got a new set of tires here recently. Four highway truck tires for $700 total after tax. That's about as cheap as you can get for reasonable quality. I was able to drop off my truck at 7 am, and it was ready by 9 (I picked it up at 5 after work). Friendly and helpful (without being pushy) staff. read more

BEWARE - My daughter took her car here with a flat. Francois told her she needed to replace all four tires (car has less than 17,00 miles on it). Proposed service was over $1,250!! Thankfully my daughter knew enough to challenge. Took the car to dealer this morning and they replaced the damaged tire under warranty and said other three tires were normal wear with plenty of life (typically 45,000 miles). Shame on you for trying to take advantage of a young woman. read more

Terrible service. Everyone has been fairly rude. I've been here a few times in the past three years because my tires have a warranty. One time they claimed they fixed my tire and I woke up in the morning to a flat, brought it back, flat again, brought it back but made an appointment. The man said I could bring it in for 7 am and be out by the time I needed to leave for work. Assured me I had an appointment and would not miss work for 9 am. I get there and he tells me there is a 5 hour wait. Today, I hit a pothole and blew out two tires. I forgot my emergency brakes on so the battery went out. My car got towed there and they jumped the car and got it moving. He came out after fixing the tires and tells me I owe $239. I was expecting to pay nothing because I am under warranty. We had trouble finding a place that was open but when we called, they put us in line and we were serviced right away. We were told it would be a five hour wait time which ended up being one. I've been going to Firestone since I owned my first car. It's a chain, so when I moved to New Orleans I looked for a Firestone location. I think I just like the familiarity. They have a central database, so they still had all my information on file. I get my oil changed here and they do a good job. Always look for coupons online, otherwise their prices tend to be higher than other places. Most recently I made an appointment online to get new tires. Driving in New Orleans is rough! The associate I spoke with was nice enough. He gave me a few tire options, but didn't explain much. I don't know or understand tire specs, but I did my best making a decision with the limited information he gave me. He wasn't pushy, but it would've been nice to have a little more explanation. I waited there to have my tires changed and aligned. It took about 3 hours, which is around what I expected. He had quoted me a wait time of "a few hours at least." So far, my car is working well and there aren't any issues yet! read more

First off, I should say my experience with this Firestone was over 6 months ago, so everything they dishonestly told me needs to be repaired/replaced (which I did NOT do, as a reliable mechanic told me otherwise), was clearly wrong, as my car is still driving totally fine. So this is a review about how they really tried to rip me off, charging ghastly amounts for unnecessary repairs: It looks like I'm far from the first person to say this, but I've never had any company so blatantly try to scam me before. The reason I came in was that I was hearing a loud screeching from the bottom of my car without knowing the reason. I thought there was just something loose- Later on in the afternoon after dropping off my car, I got a call from someone who was either extremely absentminded/scatterbrained or wanted to torture me beyond measure over the phone. First, they said that my struts blew out, then dropped a price of $1121. They let that settle in before letting me know my Sway bar needed repair for $307. They let that sink in too. After a pause, they told me about the alignment that I needed. Then I needed both struts mounted (?). It was like whoever I was on the phone with was just picking out what was broken out of a hat and choosing the cost out of a different hat. or they were seeing how many costs they could tack on and get away with it, allowing me to agree to each expense at a time. After haphazardly adding what was broken then adding up all the additional costs, they quoted me $1950. I know very little about cars, so I wrote all this down, and a mechanic friend of mine told me that even if all of that was true, which was likely it wasn't since he inspected my car back in my hometown a couple months prior, it should cost half that amount. So I got referenced to a local mechanic, and I inquired about all the things that Firestone said was wrong with it. NONE of the things they told me required any work at all. In fact, the noise was due to what seems the one thing Firestone wasn't suggesting they charge me for repair- The heat guard on the car was loose, which this alternative mechanic saw in seconds. And when he inspected what firestone said was wonky, he said all of it looked like it was in good condition. So if you're looking to get unnecessary repairs for your car and pay exhorbitant prices for them, Firestone is your place! if you'd like to get a clear quote and timeline, as well as reasonable prices and the correct work done for your car in New Orleans, definitely hit up Kehoe on Freret- it seems like that place actually has integrity and earns their repeat customers by being honest business-people. read more

Most of the front desk staff are rude and communicate poorly regarding the issues that need to be addressed. If you do go to Firestone, the only person worth talking to at the front is Steve. He is kind and very good at what he does. I trust him and his opinion and he is the ONLY reason I have brought business back to Firestone. Gave me a 2400 dollar quote to fix my car. Paid 345 dollar to put a new belt on the car so the power steering would come back online, Took it to a different mechanic (which I would have gone to originally if it wasn't so difficult to drive without power steering). Car was fixed there for under a $1,000 dollars and found out the belt I received from Firestone was defective. read more

After setting up an appointment, I was emailed confirming my service time and the tires I requested were in stock, only to show up and be told what I needed would have to be ordered... So at 445 pm I come in for an oil change. I was told they won't be able to get me done before they close at 7pm. Told me I should make an appointment. Ok so I leave thinking I will still do the errands I wanted to do while my car was being taken care of. We walk over to footlocker pick up a couple thing at CVS and come back at 5:30 since I left my car in their lot. They amazingly have half the bays closed and all the employee's are out side. So we leave go to the grocery store. Now it's 6:45 pm as I am passing by on my way home. They are completely shut down lights out. For a business that closes at 7pm. Turning away a customer well within posted business hours is poor judgement on your part. Ok so I am a young woman in college and I am far away from home where mom and pop shops are where I usually go for car repairs and whatnot. Seeing as I am in a new city I decided a chain where prices are somewhat consistent was the best option for me since I do not have the knowledge to trust local mom and pop shops. So I go into my local Firestone for a tire repair this morning. I had a bolt in one of my tires and needed a quick patch to be able to go on through my busy day. First off, I know I am due for an oil change I half expected to be told that information and was indeed told that but. However, I did not expect to be told that I would need to replace all four tires because they are worn down so horribly? I literally just got brand new tires exactly a year ago and then im informed this nonsense?? I was also told I need new brakes and several other amenities which totaled up to over $1,000. Then he had the nerve to offer me a free "account" which he not long after that changed it to a free applicable credit card to be able to pay for all of this. I left with only the repair I went in for which was the bolt in my tire and right away called the mom and pop shop where I bought the tires from. They laughed at me for how ridiculous this all was and said I could send them pictures of my tires, since I am now 5 hours away, and proceeded to let me know that my tires were no where near needing replacing and I could go on about my day. Overall, I believe because I am a young woman who is not that familiar with cars that I was trying to be taken advantage of for my lack of knowledge in this area of expertise which is very irritating. I was met by a man with a terrible attitude and was told it would take an hour and a half. Even though I called the day before (and spoke with Ellen) made an appointment, and was told it would be a quick in and out service. Visiting NOLA daughter. Unfamiliar with the local car repair scene. Daughter's 2001 Honda needed tires, wheel alignment, and a brake job. Flying out Saturday afternoon. Thursday: made Friday appointment with Sears Auto in Metarie for tires, wheel alignment, and a brake job. Friday: after three hours at Sears Auto they INFORMED me I needed tires, wheel alignment, and a brake job and they didn't have time to do the work until tomorrow. Said "thanks" and drove off. Saturday mid-morning: Drove cold into Firestone on SoCarol. Assumed they couldn't do everything so picked out inexpensive tires for this 14 year-old car and Billy Juneau (the manager) assured me they'd be on the car and the wheel alignment complete within a coupla hours. Mentioned the needed brake job and my time constraint and manager Juneau assured me they could do that TOO and still get me to the airport on time. THEY DID IT! Mission completed on time, at quote (several $100s cheaper than Sears quote), first rate driving experience, impressive professionalism. These are the GOOD GUYS. And I made my flight with time to spare with NO STRESS :). Safe daughter, happy dad. read more
