That is a major safety hazard. This should not happen once, let alone twice. I strongly encourage management to retrain technicians and implement a final inspection process.

    What an absolute sh*t show nightmare of an experience. "10 minute drive through oil change" my a$$…read more Pulled in at 4:30 on a Friday, did not leave til almost 6:30. The employees couldn't stop staring outside and the cars lining up, b*tching about it. Gentlemen - focus on the car in front of you, knock them out one at a time, there's nothing you can do about getting more business, god forbid. Must be SOoOoOoOo terrible to have a steady flow of customers. The long wait, while listening to the people at the bus stop screaming and fighting on the corner, was not the worst part, no. After all that, they straight up lied on my receipt stating they topped off all fluids. And I know this because I had a "no washer fluid" light on for months before going here. I turn my car on at the end of the experience, and I still have the "no washer fluid" on. So I press the button and no shock, there is no wiper fluid coming out. Shocker. So I tell the guy and he says pop the hood and fills it up. This leaves me with a hard time believing they filled the other fluids. They were so concerned with selling additional services, they didn't even do the one I paid over $100 for correctly. Why would I ever want to add more from you? Also - train your employees! They should not be watching YouTube videos on their phones while working on my car cause they don't know how. Extremely unprofessional, horrible, terrible experience. Never going back and warning everyone to stay away.

    This business has big problems. I brought my truck in for a "quick oil change." Nothing quick about…read moreit as the staff was in no particular hurry. The constant attempts to upsell unnecessary filters, fluids, and washer blades was obnoxious. If you didn't know what was going on, you could easily was away with a $300 bill for stuff you didn't need. The oil change itself was slow and of questionable quality. When done, the attendant gave me a 'next oil change' sticker that said I needed one in 3000 miles...which is absurd. When I called out the discrepancy, the attendant claimed Valvoline recommends every 3000 miles. When I showed him the Valvoline website that said my new oil was good for at least 7500 miles (vehicle manufacturers recommend 5000 miles), he just shrugged his shoulders and walked away. This is either incompetence and apathy or a business sanctioned scam to get customers returning unnecessarily. Could be either. Needless to say, steer clear of this business.

    Completely unacceptable, frustrating experience…read more I paid $1,338 for front brakes and calipers, and within six months I was still having braking issues. When I returned, they replaced only one front rotor under warranty. After a third visit for the same braking noise/vibration, I was told the problem was my rear brakes, even though those had been replaced only three months earlier at another shop. I then went to three independent shops, and all confirmed the real issue was a warped front rotor (the one not replaced the second time I brought it in). This should've been fixed the second or third time I brought it in. Instead they shifted blame to another shop, in which their work was confirmed to be fine. And for the price I paid, I shouldn't have had to bring it in multiple times for the same issue. Still after three visits and over $1,300 spent, my issue was still not properly fixed. The only good thing about this experience was that it was under warranty, and another shop was able to fix my brakes properly. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before trusting this shop, and if possible save your time and go elsewhere.

    I took my 2024 Kia Soul to Pep Boys for a Virginia state inspection. I picked up the vehicle around…read more6:30 PM and drove it directly home. I did not drive the vehicle again until the following day. The next day, as soon as I started driving, the infotainment screen suddenly shut off, and multiple safety warning lights illuminated on the dashboard. This was extremely concerning because I had never experienced any issues with the vehicle before taking it to Pep Boys for the inspection. I immediately called Pep Boys and explained what had happened. I informed them that I was just now driving the vehicle after the inspection and that these issues had never occurred previously. Rather than offering to inspect the vehicle or investigate the problem, the representative immediately became defensive and stated, "We didn't do anything to the car. That has to just be a coincidence. There's nothing that can be done during a state inspection that would cause something like that to happen." I found this response disappointing and unprofessional. A better customer service approach would have been to invite me to bring the vehicle back so they could evaluate the issue and determine whether there was any connection. Additionally, after completing the inspection, Pep Boys provided me with a detailed report containing numerous recommendations for repairs and maintenance. The report included photos and videos of components such as filters and other vehicle parts, demonstrating that employees were handling and inspecting more than just the basic inspection points. Because of this, I do not believe it is appropriate to immediately dismiss the possibility that something may have occurred during the service visit. Unfortunately, this is not the first negative experience I have had with Pep Boys. On a previous occasion, I brought my Mercedes-Benz to Pep Boys for a wheel alignment. After the alignment was completed, the vehicle began driving abnormally and making unusual noises. I ultimately took the vehicle to Mercedes-Benz for diagnosis. Their technicians immediately discovered that components had not been properly secured. Mercedes-Benz documented the issues with photos and videos and advised me to return to Pep Boys to request a refund for the improperly performed alignment service. On another occasion, I brought a different vehicle to Pep Boys because it had damaged struts. At the time, I was not mechanically knowledgeable and relied on their expertise. Pep Boys informed me that the struts were bad, but instead of recommending that I repair the struts first, they sold me four new tires. I later learned that replacing tires before repairing damaged struts is not advisable because the faulty suspension can quickly cause uneven tire wear. Looking back, I feel that I was taken advantage of rather than being provided with honest and appropriate guidance. Based on these experiences, I cannot recommend Pep Boys. My concerns extend beyond the current issue with my Kia Soul and include a pattern of poor customer service, dismissive responses to customer concerns, and questionable service recommendations. Customers deserve to be treated respectfully, have their concerns taken seriously, and receive honest, competent automotive advice.
