It's always a fun time had whenever I'm tasting. Everyone is always so welcoming and sweet. It's not just a tasting nowadays, it's coming to see family and catching up over some nice wines. It's basically that now as we've been enjoying it for years and years. Each visit is alway nice. Right from driving through the gates and up the hill. The property is beautiful overlooking the valley from on top. Both indoor or outdoor seating available. This visit, it was somewhat chilly so everyone was indoor. It wasn't that busy when we arrived but alway so great to see familiar faces. The vibes always turns to hanging out with friends and catching up from the last time. And you can't forget the wines. Yes, that's the whole point of us visiting. Everything is alway refreshing and delicious. Of course that's bad in a sense as it goes down so well....lol... Some new releases are alway a good start. My group tends to stick to the reds but sometimes a white or rose comes into the pictures and makes a lasting impression. There's been loads of time when we stopped by and the patio is bustling with people and a live bands. Summer is approaching and the fun is about the start. Plus, lately it's alway been a miss with the members lounge. Either closed and this time it was reserved for a private event. Ugh sucks on our part I guess. We love this vineyard and tasting room. There are lots of picnic tables and it is such a beautiful location. Our dog was welcome as well. We set up our lunch on an outside table and I went in to buy a bottle of Chardonnay. I paid $50 dollars for what tasted like an old bottle. It was dark in color and tasted like a lesser brand. I am not a wine aficionado but I can taste bad wine. I didn't taste ahead of time, just trusted the brand. The wine was very disappointing, the rest of the day was perfect! read more

We came here for Labor Day weekend. It was not so crowded and plenty of seating outside. There's two outside patios including one that overlooks the vineyard which is beautiful. We each got their firestone tasting and the society tasting f. We both def liked the society tasting better. Our server was so cool too! Really inviting, and funny too. Took a wine tour and this was our 2nd winery and we're seating in the library room which was beautiful. However, our wine tour guide said we could walk around and watch the band so we did. We sat down and watched the singer and were told by the employee there we can't sit down on the chairs those are for incoming guests!! Wait what ???? Came in for a wine tasting ($24) without a reservation on a Saturday evening. Pros: - Super large tasting rooms, multiple rooms in fact. There was a main bar in the front. There was also very small bar in the back room. We had a 3:30pm reservation. The woman at the bar inside quickly gave us a "splash" of wine and we went outside to the courtyard. There was a guy playing guitar, but he was done at 4pm so we heard him play a short song. I thought that the pours for the wine tasting flight were very small. We had visited another vineyard earlier in the day which was more generous. I asked the woman who was pouring for us about the Firestone family and how The Bachelor show had featured a Firestone guy a few years ago. She told me that there is something displayed inside about their history and they include him. It was about 4:50pm when I went to the restroom (outside). At around 4:55pm I tried the door leading to the indoors and it was already locked. Everyone disappeared from the courtyard. They left a back gate open to exit the courtyard. It would have been nice to be able to walk through the inside for two minutes - especially having driven a distance to visit them. I see some photos on Yelp of views, however I did not get to see that while I was there. Maybe you should ask the customers if they would like or need anything before you lock them out?! read more

We did the Sideways self-wine tour this past weekend. The service was good, yet they really tried to push the wine club. Too much. The tasting fee is fair for what you get. I appreciate that they have water available, but while handing out aluminum cans of water reduces single use plastic bottles, it increases aluminum usage. Switching to reusables is the better option... and there is no reason why the staff can't use something reusable. read more

Such a beautiful winery! We came in recently to try out the complimentary tastings that are included in our Foley wine membership. Firestone offers a special tasting for Foley members and all of the wines are delicious! Jared poured our tastings and was so friendly. Really knowledgeable about the wines. It was easy to walk in on a Sunday afternoon without a reservation and get a seat at the bar. My only recommendation would be to offer water, as we didn't have any and it would've been nice to clear our palette's between each tasting. read more

It was my first time at this winery in May and the grounds are quite big. There's outdoor and indoor seating options. Our party of 8 made a reservation and we were seated inside in a room with our three dogs. During the tasting we were visited by a mouse. It startled our dogs and they proceeded to put a humane trap next to the opening where it came from. The mouse visited us for a second time and my boyfriend and cousin decided to try to catch it with a trash can. After their failed attempt it came out again and this time started making a dash for the door where other patrons might see it. My boyfriend ended up sweeping it in the trash can while our host took it to be released out in the fields. All this commotion and we were given the whole spiel of joining their wine club. After our tasting was finished she comped us for only two tastings for my boyfriend and cousin who saved the day. I don't think patrons should be the rodent patrol but who knows. She also told us the mouse was there this morning... you'd think they wouldn't put guests in there since the mouse seemed friendly. I named him Remy. I wouldn't go here again. Our visit to Firestone was wonderful! Not only is it a beautiful winery but the staff is very accommodating and nice. We were able to take our time with our wine tasting and wonder around the beautiful grounds between tastings. We felt relaxed and not pressured to gulp our pours as fast aa possible! I have been to Firestone Vineyard a couple of times and it's always enjoyable. I love the grounds, wide opened and picturesque. The inside is cute also. We did some wine tasting here and the folks who work here are very nice and knowledgeable. The wine is pretty good, they give you dark chocolate with it and it's fun to learn about wine. I liked their Riesling a lot, sweet but not too much, just right. Their Cabernet is great also, we enjoy their Pinot. It's fun to get a few bottles and open them later as a trip reminder. It's also fun to find their wines in stores and and keep going with that vacation memory. So if you're in the area, stop by, it's not a snobby place, it could be a relaxing break on the road while you learn about wine and sip some! read more

This winery is a must see. Very beautiful outdoor area with a live band that was playing music. Great place to take pictures and gain memories with friends and family. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. It was pretty chilly the day we went so that was disappointing but they moved us inside where we enjoyed our wine flights in the rustic atmosphere. We came here after Robin at Lincourt recommended it since we joined the Lincourt Wine Club. What a beautiful property! We did both tasting flights and all wines were great. (I think I actually prefer the less expensive flight to the connoisseur flight.) The service was prompt and friendly. The space was comfortable. Beautiful tasting room, great wines! We had reservations for 18 but 16 showed. Host was gracious & knowledgeable while handling our large group. We really enjoyed the wines. We asked for a few extra pours while deciding which ones to buy & they were given to us with a smile. Great customer service with some extra pours thrown in of course means we bought more wine to take home. The Rose' was bought by many in our group even by the case! If you buy $75 of wine then 2 $15 tastings are free so why not? Maybe provide some crackers or pretzels as snacks would be my only tip. Firestone Vineyard gets a solid 4 stars from me. While not my favorite winery (there really is a lot of top notch competition), it's always a good time. I've been here a handful of times now, with my most recent visit being this past Saturday, 2/15/20. It was our third wine tasting of the day and the service could not have been better. While our trip here was short, it was memorable. Our server was very friendly, and the wines all tasted good. Prices are in line with other wineries in the area. After the tasting, we walked around the vineyard a little. The outside area is not quite as nice to hang out at, but if definitely offers a unique experience worth checking out. While I wouldn't go out of my way to visit, I certainly would return again if in the area. read more

I am writing this email because I am extremely displeased with your service at the tasting room. We rushed from another tasting after looking up your hours (11-5) only to walk in the door at 430 with an unfriendly cold hard 'No' to our request of a pour. I understand you have rules and last pour is 4pm (as your sign says outside the tasting room). We didn't see that as we pulled in or online so maybe update your information.   I have two suggestions. Change your hours to 11-4pm like EVERY other winery since evidently those ARE your hours with last pour at 4pm. And maybe train your staff to be a little kinder to your patrons. They come from far and wide to support your business.  If anyone is reading this review I highly recommend other vineyards in the area that have the most intimate, wonderful service. I thought it might be helpful to offer a different perspective of Firestone Vineyard for bride and groom's who may be considering this space for their wedding. Most reviews online are from a guest's perspective. I would love to offer the light and lines point of view from a local Santa Barbara wedding photographer who has been shooting there for over eight years. As someone who sees spaces in terms of light, composition, and experience, Firestone Vineyard has a bouquet of options to play with. The visual artist in me loves the elevation Firestone has over the valley. The bluffs on the side of the vineyard overlook layers of hills a vines. Layering elements into a photo elevates the 'wow' factor of a picture. The length of the lawn allows me to play with compression and background layers. This makes it ideal for both portraits and for intimate ceremonies. I specialize in candid wedding photography and so for me, having quiet locations are key to creating great images. Spaces that are separated from where the guest's arrive gives me the ability to facilitate still, quiet moments where the bride and groom can connect authentically without people watching or an audience. Spaces such as the bluffs, the courtyard, inside the vineyard, and behind the large doors of the barrel room allow me the isolation to play and capturing their authentic personalities. Firestone's Vineyard has large trees organically roaming throughout the vineyard. The combination of leading lines in the rows in vines contrasted with the natural placement of the large trees blends perfectly with the direction of the sun light during golden hour just before sunset. One of my favorite places to play and create is in the vines. A close second to the vines is the barrel room. From the photo in my review you can see that the artist inside me is a kid in a candy shop when it comes to the spacing and placement of the barrels. The isolation of light in the barrel room paired with the length variation of barrel size is a dream to create in. It's the perfect space to bring in my controlled directional photography light and create. It's almost like a large, quiet, photo studio where I can control all the light and play with all the layers of barrels. I've been photographing weddings in the Santa Barbara & Santa Ynez area for many years and have experienced how different spaces unfold from a guest's and day-of perspective. The views, lines, composition, layering, and lighting of Firestone Vineyard is a playground to create in as an artist. I LOVE photographing and creating amazing art in this space! read more

Meh. Not impressed. As club members, we popped in for a tasting. Place was DEAD, yet service said they could "squeeze us in". They apparently were going to have a large party coming so all of their energy was going towards that. We were there for about an hour and we never saw the party or another person. At one point we even had to go inside to find someone to give us our next tasting. What could've been a 20-30 min tasting took an hour. Service was friendly. No real info about the wine. Thank God the tastings were free and the pizza from the guy outside was delicious. Oh, and there was a cute cat named Meowbec (pronounced like Malbec). No rush to come back here. read more

This was one of the first wineries founded in the Santa Ynez Valley in 1978, and we went there looking for a taste of history. But we are very sad to report that the glory days are long, long gone, and it is just a dusty old place now. It was bought by the finance guy, Bill Foley, in 2007, and he added it to his Foley Family Wines group, home to decaying group of once notable CA wineries like Chateau St. Jean and Chalk Hill. Foley's lack of commitment to making good wine is, perhaps, a reflection of the fact that most of his time these days seems to be spent buying and selling football, soccer, and hockey teams. When we asked the server who the winemaker at Firestone was, she had to ask. Then she came back and explained that Foley has only one winemaker for its entire group of some 40 wine labels. Anyone who knows anything about wine knows how ludicrous that is. It is further evidence of Foley's focus on cutting costs and milking as much money as it can out of once great wine labels...and visitors like us. read more

We had a terrific Wine tasting later In The day. We arrived close to closing time and the team took care of us. Really lovely accommodation. We did the tasting and tried a sauv blanc followed by the chard. Both ok. Not a huge fan of the oak in SB but this one worked. We got a bottle. The reds were terrific and very tasty. We did the petit Verdot 2014 and the terrific blend with can and Malbec. Loved the reds. I highly recommend this place! read more
