I've never seen a butchers in my whole life this busy and this is because it is a very good butchers, especially when you consider it in terms of value for money. Prices start at just over £3 per kilo for ribs and the first boneless item comes in at just under £4 per kilo for some pork shoulder. As you move up the quality of the meat the price remains very good value for money as it moves up with the quality and this is what makes this place so popular. Put simply, this is one of the better butchers in town.

I like their Shan spice packets costing around 70p. There are beans, pulses, different variety flours (use in Asian cooking), pickles, curry pastes, chutneys and range of spices. Frozen vegetables, various varieties of frozen fish kebabs and burgers also available. Their prices are low as compared to other Asian stores. It is great place for Asian, African and Arabic stuff and also great for bargains.

If you're going to buy a t-bone prepare to get a mammoth steak- two steaks were 1.5kg. And they're cut per request with a saw, which of never seen before. I'm not sure if £25 is considered orivey since its my first time buying decent steak in Edinburgh, but it was well worth it! I used the reverse sear method to cook the steaks because they were so huge and managed to cook them perfectly. They were divine! I will definitely make this a regular place to buy my meat but might go for a smaller cut next tine- I had enough steak left over for you next two days.

I ask what would be the best way to cook a shoulder cut of beef and I am told in useful detail a few ways that would work best. Perfect.
