Jeremy is great! I would highly recommend working with First Colony. We had been looking at purchasing a home on and off for years before we were finally able to pull the trigger. Jeremy had offered ideas on improving our ability to get the loan we wanted and was very patient when we decided to wait. He has continued to keep in touch and we would definitely do business with them again. read more

Unbelievable. I provided large stack of all documents which also included a copy of recent credit report. I requested clearly to not run a hard hit on my credit until they determined after reviewing everything that all looked good. I was told in the beginning I had to sign the application but was reassured by Cyd that she would not pull a hard hit until I was ready. Fast forward I said that if everything looked good to go ahead and do the hard hit. They did then I'm told my debt to income was 115%? Hmmm. Why do I have plenty of money left over at the end of the month? Why did they say they would preview my identical credit report before running?. I feel betrayed and the way I was talked to was degrading and belittling. My issue is not about the denial but instead that I was mislead. Fortunately I was able to find an Ethical Mortgage Company elsewhere. read more

Buying a home was overwhelming at times, but working with First Colony made it a lot less so. They've even stayed in touch after everything was said and done to make sure things transitioned smoothly. We had an easy hassle-free experience working with Becky Staples at First Colony Mortgage. We moved to St. George and bought a home that was being built. Becky communicated with us and made suggestions on how we could finance our home. She made it easy to sign documents and was always immediately available when we had questions. Jeremy at First Colony is amazing! There were certain stipulations where other lenders would have a difficult time getting a response or approval. Jeremy and the team were always on top of everything and we were even able to close ahead of schedule. I used First Colony for my first mortgage and had a great experience. When I was buying my second home, I decided to shop around before choosing because I wanted to make sure I was getting the best deal possible. In the end, I went with First Colony again because of the interest rate they offered, reasonable closing costs, and total honesty about their process. Other lenders seemed to be hiding things, trying to get my business. Jeremy with First Colony shared what he could do and let me choose without pressure. I was able to close extremely quickly on my purchase in a time when many people are getting multiple extensions because of loan hold-ups. read more
