I am deeply proud to call Foundations Church my home church. In early fall of 2017 my marriage was…read morein trouble, and with very powerful effective means this team jumped to the rescue! My marriage now is better than it has ever been. In my experience the leadership has demonstrated uncommonly raw honesty, authentic vulnerability and unwavering commitment to reach the lost and hurting souls (Christian and non-Christian alike) in Northern Colorado. You will find they have a ministry that doesn't pull punches and tells the truth about sexual bondage, internet pornography, marital struggles, addiction, financial health, sharing the good news with your neighbors, and so much more. In today's cultural climate it is very encouraging to get reinforced here. My kids are grown, but I can tell they have a pretty amazing children's ministry. The worship band frequently drives me to tears. There are lots of special events and opportunities to get involved and connected in small groups.
Applause to some great sermons I have heard here and the worship is blessed. When I first went to…read moreFoundations, I had no idea about the history. Evidently, they broke off from another church due to the adultery of the old pastor. Props to them for breaking away and starting new with a new pastor in a spirit of holiness. Have heard a lot of good sermons. At the same time, I am concerned about several things. Jesus Himself said that the church is full of true born again believers who are walking as Christ directs (the sheep) and make believers (the goats) who attend church but are not in Christ (carnal). One day, the truth will be exposed as to who is in which category. What is going on with the some prayer team leaders and the small group ministry at Foundations? They let a gal who was booted off of the prayer team in her old church in Berthoud lead the Wednesday prayer group and is quite controlling. People go to her group and often never return. I heard through the grapevine that the guy who started the prayer team says she has a demon. He is prone to saying people he doesn't like have a demon (a Jezebel spirit, a Leviathon spirit). Is this spiritual abuse? Competition, lust for power and slander prevails while Jesus weeps. Then there is M, an elderly lady on the prayer team who criticizes the pastor and the church in the way they do things. Why is she allowed on the prayer team. Small Group Leadership: I listened to the guy who coaches people who want to lead a small group. The impression several of us get is that if you want to lead a group, you cannot be too honest about what the Bible says if someone asks a question. We love everyone here, including gays and trans. A gay married couple wanted to be in a leadership position and were disappointed when told no. Pastor speaks plainly about homosexuality being a sin, but did anyone feel okay with telling them in love and gentleness in the small group? Did they try to help them out of this sinful lifestyle? I call this "Christianity Light" where no one can be too honest in the group about the Word because someone might be offended. Is Jesus weeping? Is He a fan of all of this?
Always meaningful sermons

Next time we are in town we should come to an actual service but either way I can recommend checking this church out. Visited this church recently. "This church used to have vibrant, extended worship and good ministry…read moreoutreach when the former Pastors (Rick & Becky) were leading. They had multiple elderly outreach ministries, which was wonderful. The new pastor got rid of them for no good reason. I don't know how we got this new Pastor (Jeff Foust), who has a problem with pride. He struts around the stage in that spirit of pride. His wife is wonderful and full of the Holy Spirit. However, I do not feel that from him. Many have left the church due to Jeff Foust and the decisions he is making without the church's buy in. Example: a building was donated to the church and he is trying to raise millions of dollars to improve something superficial about this building. What a waste! His idea of doing an outreach for the men in the church is to go out for beers and do axe-throwing." Everything in quotes was verbalized to me by a man who has been going there for years and used to love it. I heard about this on the day I attended for the first time. Clearly, people are not a fan of Jeff Foust. Who is holding him accountable and overseeing his decisions for the congregation? Millions of dollars? No one at that age has the wisdom and tenure to lead a church in a healthy way, in my humble opinion. I do not see a spirit of humility after one service, BUT I don't know him, either. Would like to give him the benefit of the doubt, but I have questions.. There were very few worship songs, which is not like a Vineyard church. Not sure I will be back.
Typical informal presentation!

They do this in a grace-saturated, patient, and loving way instead of being legalistic. It's also a great place to develop friendships and find support.
