He's very charismatic, but charm is deceptive. He forced each of the people he fired to claim that was their choice to leave, and when they refused to do so, he publicly lied about them. People who were devoted to God were told they were not wanted in the band or worship teams, solely because they were not attractive or young enough. My family were members of this church for 18+ years, and when some of my family approached Kouba about how they did not agree with what happened under his leadership, he told my family they were not welcome back. I have since found a new congregation, but so many people stopped attending any church and have abandoned their faith because of the actions of the leadership of this church. 1 Timothy 3:7 states that the overseer of a church must have a good reputation with those outside of his flock, lest he be disgraced. Since I live in Seattle, I have only attended at the church building a couple of times each year, sometimes more. However, I do listen to every sermon and stay in touch every week. The members and the leaders there are all in, they live and breathe our Lord. I am grateful to have found a church who loves and takes care of their members and the community around them. I am grateful they stretch their arms to those in need around the world. I have read the 2 negative reviews and I am sadden these ladies have such anger against these remarkable Christians who live and teach our Lord's grace and love. They said good but ignored it and berated me and I told them that due to my trauma and anxiety issues from childhood I would not be receptive and this would probably cause a panic attack. Yet they didn't care. You hear in the recording they would ask me questions and when I go to answer I don't get to finish since they would cut me off and kept doing it until I told them to stop interrupting me when they asked me a question and told and it only got worse. I did go into a panic attack and I don't remember bits and pieces after that since I was told by doctors my minds defense to keep itself together after panic attacks is sort of mini black out moments. They even said at the beginning of it that my medical issues are not to be brought up since they aren't doctors but know my issues steam from medical. I am BEYOND appalled that I used to call them friends and family. Now I know that even after 10 years they still hold mistakes I did from that long ago. They brought it up time and time again, yet they don't hold each other accountable for some of their issues they shared with me that prevent others from going to this HORRIFIC church. I trashed any and all items or memories that had this logo on it. After that meeting, and after I was let go, I went home, not remembering parts of the drive due to my mental state and just remember getting home and having more panic attacks until I think 5pm then my wife gets a call by one of them because I told them I was blocking them after the harm they caused to me and they refused to take ANY ACCOUNTABILITY OR EVEN APPALOGIZE to me for the harm they put me through and when I ripped that "elder" a new one for the mental harm they put me through, he NEVER ONCE APPOLOGIZED and instead enforced a ban on us. So if anyone has any mental health issues or makes any mistakes even in home groups since some of the home groups started spreading things about me (one of the elders told me in the meeting) just find a new church since the leaders NEED TO GROW A LOT MORE before they deal with ANY COUNCELING. They are not ready to lead this congregation or counselling sessions since they can't take accountability for their own screw ups towards members of the church.
