I wasn't able to make it to church in person today. As I was trying to join my place of worship, I saw a group of children singing and stopped to listen. Our family has attended First Redeemer for 15+ years. If you are looking for a perfect church, this is not it....because I go there, and I like everyone else breathing, am imperfect. However, if you want to try a church that truly tries to love GOD, and love their neighbor, this just might be a good fit. bubble study classes run from big to small, depending on what your preference might be. The 9:30 service has a great praise team and band. The 11:00 service has a 125+ member choir and 25+ member orchestra that blends traditional hymns and more contemporary praise music. The preaching is spot on, sharing truths from the Bible, stressing compassion for our hurting world. FRC even have a wonderful chef who cooks Wednesday night dinner, often for more than 250 people. I like to visit the coffee lodge for lunch where I can get a smash burger voted best in Forsyth County. Again we aren't perfect, but who is?...oh yeah, that's WHO we worship.:) read more

My family has been attending here for 17 years our children have grown up from pre-school, elementary, Awanas and middle/highschool years. There are numerous Sunday School classes to choose from. Dr. Jeff Jackson (Pastor Jeff) is a believer that the Bible is the divine word of God and remains consistent in Bible first principles. The choir and orchestra are first rate. There are always opportunities to get involved regardless of the amount of time you have to serve. If you don't show up for a couple of weeks they reach out, not to pester you, but to say hi and make sure you are doing ok. Oh Ted King goes here too! I first visited this church with my then 12 year old daughter and immediately thought it was too large for my personal taste, that was until I entered. The truth was presented without fault and the music was so Holy Spirit filled that I immediately felt that I was home. It took obedience on my part taking steps to be involved and serving for FRC to become my home church. We've been attending here for about 2 years. In that two years, a lot has changed. A new Pastor who is great and not just a face on a stage. He is a great speaker and caring pastor. I was hospitalized & my first call was Jeff calling to pray with me. The supporting pastors also do a tremendous job. They are in the process of renovating their facilities. They have already done the main areas for adults and kids with more to come the next year or 2. I love that they focus heavily on missions both local and foreign. Above all, my kids love their small groups and worship times. I love that if I want to serve during a service, the kids get a different experience each service instead of sitting through it twice or sitting in a room playing video games. They offer a lot of extras like Awana, VBS, a Conservatory for music lessons, acting classes, and sports ministry that offers baseball and a great competition cheer program. All these things provide a service but Christ is at the center of it all. There are small groups available on Sunday morning and home groups available as well. My family and I attended church here for a while. It was just okay. I could not find an appropriate Sunday class that I wanted to attend on a regular basis as they were just a little too dry/stuffy for me. The choir/music dept is first class and produced wonderful productions. True Colors: On a couple of occasions, my family and I volunteered to assist with preparing their news letters and also helped at the food warehouse to prepare boxes for their food truck. Yet, when I called and left several messages to ask for assistance for a family in need, my calls weren't returned. Even if you didn't want to help, you should have at the very least returned my call, (as a matter of courtesy). The youth services was seriously lacking and in attempt to engage the kids and keep them interested, they focused a little too much on video games and playing instead of bible teaching. The younger kids are grouped according to age but my daughter who was rather tall and mature for her age just did not fit in with her age group. When it came to finding a more suitable placement for her, they were unyielding. I will give a shout out to the youth basketball program with which my daughter participated. It was well run and great fun. A major draw of this church is its amenities, (work out facilities, cafe, exercise classes etc). So if you are willing to make a trade, (intimate, personal relationships and a church who knows what it means to be His hands and feet, for superficiality, and an uncaring attitude), this just might be the place for you. read more

This is a large, thriving church with a small-church feel thanks to the on-campus adult fellowship groups. It's hard to beat what is offered for kids of all ages, including just about every competitive sport you could want. The intimate Coffee Lodge is a great place to hang out. The barista is knowledgeable, and the food is actually very good. Programs include two distinctly different worship services: a contemporary service with a praise band and clubby lighting, and a "blended" service that is actually a good, old fashioned service, complete with full choir and orchestra. Wednesday night classes offer a wide variety of classes and a large youth ministry, AWANA and Choir programs for kids, as well as an excellent Wednesday night supper. Sermons are solid and thought provoking. The pastor is aligned with the mainstream Southern Baptist doctrine without compromise. The "There's Hope for the Hungry" Ministry feeds over 70,000 people annually, and their focus on giving back to the community is commendable. Great church, great music, great people, most of all great pastor with a heart for God. Powerful message every week. This church has something for any age or ability. We have struggled in the past finding a church that could accommodate my whole family including my special needs daughter. The children's ministry did an awesome job finding great care givers and has now added a special needs class for kids that don't fit into the regular classes. They offer a wide variety of competitive sports as well as music classes and even life enrichment classes. We are so happy to call this church our home. read more

We started attending eight years ago because we were looking for a great children's program. What we found was an amazing family program. Our kids love it and so do we! We have gotten involved with the music ministry, the sports program, small group, and the conservatory. Everything and everyone we have encountered is a blessing! I can't say enough wonderful things about this church. Whether it's through coaching cheerleading, hosting a well known speaker, or feeding the hungry - the love of Jesus shines. I live out of state but I have been watching the archived videos in my spare time and live streaming on the occasions when I cannot attend my home church - recommended by a close friend . I enjoy the informative and uplifting sermons but I am curious as to why the choir selections have been cut out of the archived services; music is a ministry and speaks to the soul as well. Services feel incomplete without musical worship. Well worth five stars if you bring it back; otherwise I'll stick with three. read more

The sermons are Biblical, not boring, and relevant to todays society. Service at 9:15 is contemporary music, yes drums, keyboard and electric guitar. Modern Christian music with some traditional hymns also. Certainly uplifting to some people (myself included). This is the service I attend. The 10:45 service will have the same sermon, live not piped in, but the music will be a full choir in traditional robes and accompanied by a full orchestra. There are many small groups to join also, some which meet at 9:15 and others at 10:45. And of course there are children's ministries which are age dependent. Private club atmosphere. Accosting attitude of an underlying "why are you here?" No social skills at welcoming visitors. Front door greeters were distant and depersonalizing. Discothèque darkness and sounds of R&R or some type of modern music, nothing that would glorify Christ or project a worship atmosphere. The best Sunday School class is the "In"-courager's Class, taught by Dean Rosson and Rick Swope. The class directors are Paul and Lara O'Fallon. It's good for book learning, having a great time and surrounding yourself with a high calibre of people. My only complaint is that the relationships are superficial. read more

FRC is a church that aims not to please people. Always working towards excellence for Jesus! My family and I are so blessed to be members of this church for over 12 years. We love the preaching, easy to understand, relevant, always referencing the bible and never fails to do an invitation at the end of the service. Not all churches do this important step nowadays. We also love the various ministries. The choir and orchestra ministries are superb! One of, if not, the best in the area. The kids' programs and leaders instill the love of Jesus to the young ones. I have attended First Redeemer Church for just over four years. It is a wonderful place to worship. I go to Bible Fellowship at 9:15 on Sunday morning, so I can't speak much for the early service. I know the leaders and they are wonderful. We have a 150+ voice choir; I love to sing in the choir. FRC is the most praying church I have attended. Pastor Jeff Jackson preaches from the Bible and doesn't change the Word for the crowd. Please come visit! read more

Our family joined First Redeemer 11 years ago. Even though it is a big church, we love our small Bible Fellowship group. Being a part of this church is like being part of a wonderful and loving Christian family. Through ongoing church sponsored projects, my husband and I have found many ways to serve in the church, the community, and beyond. We are blessed weekly by Pastor Jeff's sermons which are always based on the Bible. Jesus is the center of our worship services. Missions is also a main focus of First Redeemer. The associate pastors in various areas of church life are driven by their love for Jesus. Activities abound for children, youth, and adults. I love singing in the choir with the most professional sounding orchestra you will hear anywhere! Our Women's Ministry is such a blessing, especially the Thursday Bible Study with morning and evening sessions. Our family has lived in 9 states and always attended churches where we were living.
