History

Established in 1829.

Claybank, the mother of our church, was built in 1829. Over the years, we have built new sanctuaries and even changed our name but our purpose has never changed: believing and putting our faith in action by making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Meet the Manager: Michael S.

Rev. R. Michael Sigler was appointed as senior pastor to FUMC Ozark on July 1, 2014 by the Alabama West Florida Conference. Rev. Sigler and his wife, Vicki, have three adult children. His father, the late Dr. R.O. (Dick) Sigler, was a United Methodist pastor who also served appointments in south Alabama. Rev. Sigler has two brothers: Rev. Ralph Sigler, founding pastor of Harvest Church, Dothan; and Wayne Sigler, minister of music at Frazer Memorial UMC, Montgomery. Rev. Sigler is a graduate of Auburn University and Asbury Theological Seminary. He was ordained as a UM Deacon in 1986 and as an Elder in Full Connection in 1988. He brings to Ozark FUMC a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience, having served appointments at Gadsden Street UMC, Pensacola, FL; Pine Grove UMC; Daphne UMC; Aldersgate UMC, Montgomery, AL; Epworth UMC, Phenix City, AL; and FUMC, Ft. Walton Beach, FL.
