This is one of my favorite chains in Colorado. Their fresh juice menu is always so good and as fresh as possible. For food, I usually go with the lemon ricotta pancakes, but try the specials if they are running them. Don't understand all the negative reviews we thought the food was really good and had good sauces and flavors with fresh ingredients nicely plated. I had dined several times at the Lakewood location at Belmar and give the Belmar location 5 stars. Unfortunately the food at the Arvada location was not very good. I took family members out for lunch. Service and environment I have no complaints about. However I will not return to this location. Had I not enjoyed the Lakewood location would not return to this business and family stated the same. read more

This used to be a great breakfast place as "The Egg and I" before "First Watch" bought it now it's a place to go when the other breakfast places in the area have too long of a wait. The service is slow and totally indifferent to any problems you might have. The other First Watch in Arvada by Wadsworth and I70 is a wonderfully run restaurant with extremely professional personnel so it has to start with the management. They were bad before the pandemic and surprisingly worse when we went today. Today my wife had a frittata rustica which she has often enjoyed at good first watch. It did not have cheese on top as it should nor tomatoes inside. It was dry and the bottom was burnt. The server just said she was sorry and brought a ramekin of sour cream which we were charged for. When we paid the bill, the young lady at the register asked how everything was, but didn't care either. I read a review saying the people that complain are just old and can't use the app. That's sounds like it was written by management. We're not old and the app has nothing to do with it. So when you go here and have a typically unpleasant breakfast, make sure you write a review. They even ask you to on their chalkboard. Holy cow SOOOOO disappointing. We did call ahead and then checked in but she forgot to check us in on the iPad so we waiting an extra 30 min. Then we w ONE HOUR for our breakfast and then one of us got the wrong food. Not going back to this location. Plan on a 30 min wait to sit while they can't be bothered to clear tables. Plan on waiting 10 min to be noticed by lethargic and awkward wait staff. Plan on waiting 45 to 60 min for your order of French toast to come out. Plan on your food being luke warm when you get it. Plan one the ingredients to be cheap quality. Such as razor thin bacon. Plan on substantial disappointment at a corporate renovation of a neighborhood classic made trendy and hip by equity backed rookies with cliche levels of failure..incompetence and proftmongering. The food is good when it's good. The service is completely terrible and unacceptable. The first time we came awesome service and awesome food. The second , and third time we waited forever for cold food . Sadly , we will not be returning until first watch gets their crap together . The staff is friendly, but what is the deal here ? Hire more staff or get new management . Arvada needs a good breakfast place . Update : nothing has changed here . Went back and food was remade 3 times , and still cold . No complaints. GF and I took to yelp to find breakfast, we like a mom n pop place with hollandaise, we're not too picky, but the restaurant has to have things on the menu that we can't make at home. If your whole menu is scrambled eggs, home fries, and biscuits we'll pass bc I can knock that out in 30 minutes. First Watch didn't disappoint. I had a Benedict and she had something with this amazing green chili that (wait for it) didn't have pork or pork fat, and, as usual, I liked what she ordered more than my own, but they were both great, the space in old town is classically cute and our server was good not great, but no complaints, and I'm kinda shocked this place hasn't been reviewed more. Awful experience at the Arvada location. Food took 25 minutes to come out even though the restaurant was half full. My food came out 5 minutes after my two kids and was cold. I ordered eggs Benedict which of course isn't good cold. I waited for the waitress to come back for 5 minutes, but she did not return to check if the food was ok. I walked up to the host and said the food was cold and it took 25 minutes to get my food, not sure if she was on a smoke break, but I hadn't seen her come in and out of the kitchen with regularity. He said she's trying. He then found her and within earshot said this guy said his food was cold and he said you were on a smoke break. Of course I heard him and said, you don't need to make comments, but my food obviously sat for quite a long time as my eggs fully congealed and the bread and salmon were cold. He reiterated that they were trying. I told the waitress to just cancel the order and that I was going to just let my boys finish their pancakes. After paying and getting ready to leave, I said to the host on the way out that it didn't need to be handled like that and that his attitude could have been different. He said ok and we left. As a business owner I would have been mortified if I had an employee be rude to a customer for a mistake we made. read more

The food is fantastic, but today our server wasn't so great! starting off he seemed very nice! He took our order and everything was fine until our order started coming out! They switched sausage for bacon, yes they brought out sausage. mixed up my granddaughters breakfast, then brought out the wrong order for my daughter. Mistakes happen, yes, but when my daughter mentioned to him that she still didn't get what she ordered and by this time the rest of us were done eating and she had just got part of her order! My daughter asked Austin, our server to just remove the rest of her order from the check he copped an attitude ! Not once were our coffee or water refilled. Again, the food was great but having to continuously correct our server, because he messed up, for him to have an attitude , it's sad! When the guy who took our payment asked how it was, I told him that the service sucked and our tip will reflect that. The guy told Austin what I had said, so to add insult to injury, Austin began harassing us as we left. Just took my girls here for my daughter's birthday. The food was excellent but the service pretty much killed the whole experience. It felt like our server didn't want our table bc I had a baby. I had to ask to finally get a server and then ask for every single thing after that (like water, syrup for my daughter's pancakes, etc.). I usually order the eggs benedict and the side salad that comes with it is a healthy complement - order dressing on the side - it is potent but delicious. I tried the cheesy grits but whoa they're cheesy. Only a dab is needed IMHO. I missed finding the kale drink I love. I couldn't think of the name at the time but I hope it's on the summer menu. The rest of the crew I encountered gave me the feeling they enjoyed being there.
