So I lied... Came back to this particular First Watch this past Thursday and ordered the avocado toast and wanted the home fries... ordered a side of that as well with extra caramelized onions. The main plate arrived with a mountain of avocado on a lovely slice of whole grain bread and accompanied by two basted eggs and a lemon wedge to juice over the avocado...... PERFECT presentation and flavors ! Home fried potatoes with crispy bits and delicious caramelized onions at top. I was pleased to see that they have their own " branded" ketchup that uses the lesser of two evils, sugar, as a sweetener instead of high fructose corn syrup. The server was pleasant and efficient. Meal, coffee, tax, tip $24!!... Very expensive...BUT, EVERYTHING is expensive now so I can't blame them, gotta keep the doors open. I would've upgraded my score of this perfect meal to five stars except for the cost. I'm currently rolling change to save up for my next breakfast visit to this nice restaurant. read more

This is a newer First Watch location and we've been a few times. This is definitely a popular spot with good food and service. Most recently, we waited 15 minutes after an 11am arrival for our table of 3 to be sat (not bad). One person in our party had the Avocado Toast (she loved it) and I had the Pick 2 lunch of tomato basil soup and chicken avocado salad (I'd recommend both and would order again), our third had fruit and a gluten free meal. read more

Yes! I am a fan of the First Watch restaurants! Always good service and always enjoyable breakfast/brunch. Great for groups or a day-time date. The only down side is that everyone thinks that this is a great place to eat, so more often than not, there is a wait. Wait times can range from 15-30 mins...sometimes more, sometimes less. But I have found, that I usually have to wait 10-15 mins (also, they don't take reservations) so I recommend getting to the destination ahead of time, or sending someone ahead to get a table at those 'busier-than-usual' times. Otherwise use the time to catch up on conversation or browse the menu. And even after all of that...the wait is worth it! Enjoy! *accessible entrance* read more

I really like their food! I would stay away from their "boozy" beverages as they are made in the back and you don't know how much you are getting. I would feel better cracking open my own vodka and pouring it into my Bloody Mary knowing there is booze in it. Same goes for their mimosas and other cocktails that are premixed. Something about their alcohol operation does not feel right lol. Watered down or non existent. Short and sweet: overpriced. Why 4 stars? I always love some First Watch and compare most breakfast spots to it. This one is great being so close to home and had to try. The staff was friendly, facility was clean and we were ready to eat. Million Dollar Bacon is a must to start the meal, but Avocado Toast, Elevated Egg Sandwich and Traditional are hard to pass on for your main. This location has one issue and apparently it is with one chef. Cooking eggs to order specs (over med). Second visit, same issue. Our server even commented on it and is a running joke I guess. The orange juice was fresh Florida squeezed, but I preferred the watermelon wake-up with fresh squeezed watermelon, pineapple, a dash of lime and fresh mint! Delicious and definitely hydrating in this weather! Breakfast choices: the Elevated Egg Sandwich and the Biscuits and Turkey Sausage Gravy. Ingredients were fresh, presentation of food was good and seasoning was pretty much on point. Biscuits were fluffy and flaky and gravy was not too heavy or overloaded with sausage- bonus! Would recommend trying this place as they really looked like they offer something for everyone. Proportion sizes were good, loved that they used glass cups, but not a fan of plastic straws- paper straws would have been better to mix up settled juices. Prices seemed a tad bit high, but overall would definitely stop in for breakfast again. My family and I were excited that another First Watch location was opening in our area. We live a mile away from the Wesley Chapel location but it gets pretty crowded on the weekends. We decided to check out the new Lutz location during their opening weekend and we were not disappointed. We did not have to wait too long and once we were seated our service was prompt. I always order my favorite dish the Chickinchanga (breakfast burrito with potatoes) and it was just as amazing as it is at all of their locations. Just left the First Watch on 54 in Lutz disappointed and upset after waiting around 20 minutes to be seated and watching other parties being seated immediately. There were 3 in our party, 2 adults and one very quiet 4 year old. Not only did we feel disrespected but slighted when there were obvious open booths, tables and sufficient staff. We asked for the first available table and watched as others walked in, state the number in their party (both instances were a party of 2) and get seated right away. Excellent. I had the egg sandwich (not a fan of bacon) and it was eggcellent as usual, and the potatoes were fresh and not over seasoned. My kid had the waffles which are way too good. I ate all the rest of his waffles because they are amazing. My husband had the French toast, which was great and has a tiny bit of tartness to it which really makes a good French toast great. And of course the coffee was incredible. We were seated immediately, the staff was very attentive and friendly, and we chit chatted with a couple managers who really seemed to love the job. Ordered a pickup order got there 3 mins after it said it was ready. Waited patiently and no food. Finally I get a gentleman's attention asking where my food is and i give him the name , he looks and says they don't have the order, I show him the map on DoorDash confirming this is the right place. He goes to the back and then comes back and says "sir this is your order sitting right here" I proceed to tell him the bag name says "Peter" his response was "well that's who made it in the kitchen, it says pickup at the top". Got the Morning Meditation drink without ice for the first time and it was much better that way. Also got the Pick 2 combo with the Market Veggie sandwich and Chicken Avocado salad. Both were very tasty! It took about 15 minutes for our food to come out but it was hot and delicious so it was worth the wait. They really should get their Internet working there. There's a WiFi open network but no access after connecting. The cell service in the restaurant is almost nonexistent so that's why it would help to have free WiFi, especially since they text you when your table is ready if you check in with Yelp. My local First Watch restaurant is still closed due the virus so I was thrilled to see another location open when traveling through Lutz on State Road 54 near Livingston. This First Watch restaurant had two tables occupied and appeared not to be very busy around 2:15 today. I asked to place a carry out order with the intention of only ordering a morning meditation since I knew the restaurant would be closing soon. I was told by the hostess I had to download the First Watch app on my phone or use google pay to place an to go order. I asked the hostess "so, even though I'm standing here in front of you with money I can't place an to go order?" The employee said "unfortunately no it is a new requirement that started today" and she couldn't take a carry out order anyother way. I decided to leave and ordered a juice from another establishment nearby. Unfortunately, this First Watch location not only missed an easy way to make money before closing today but also left me with a less than pleasant first impression. I won't be revisiting this location again. If I walked in too late to order something tell me the kitchen has closed but don't refuse to serve me because I didn't place my order the way you prefer. By the time I download the app on my phone, create an account, order something and input my card the restaurant might be closed. I expect much more from a brand I associate as being up scale and customer oriented. read more

This is our go-to FW. Service and food is consistently good. My favorite sandwich is the ham and gruyere with the spice Dijonnaise. My daughter loves to get the butterfly pea lemonade drink. So I went today (a Wednesday) at 10 am and finally got to give this place a try. WOW! It didn't disappoint. I had the tri-athlete egg white omelette. It was insanely good! The ingredients were very fresh and I definitely feel like I had my protein. The toast was pretty thick, but everything on the plate complimented each other. My daughter had a chocolate chip pancake from the kids menu and my wife had the French toast. She said it was VERY filling. I'm orginally from Sarasota and have been going to First Watch since the late 1980's. We were so excited when a restaurant opened up near us! Today was the first time we went to this location and it may be our last. 1. We "reserved" our place in line at 9:43am and we were told to arrive by 10:39am. 2. We arrived and checked in at 10:38am. We were told we were next to be seated and they'd text when our table was ready. 3. There was no place to wait inside so we had no choice but to wait outside, which normally is fine, but not today. 4. Waiting outside we were surrounded by people smoking and it was disgusting. 5. After waiting 10 minutes with no contact but hearing other names being called, I checked in with staff and was again told we were next. 6. Finally moved indoors because the smoking was out of control and again observed other people being sat before us. 7. There were people sitting at tables full of dirty dishes. Do they not encourage pre-bussing to expedite table turnover? 8. FINALLY we were seated at 11:03am and waited 5 or so minutes for our server. 9. Once we placed our order, we didn't receive items we had ordered, and after a few minutes of waiting we inquired and were told they'd be coming out shortly. 10. Missed items never arrived. 11. Flies buzzing around my husband's food and landing on his head totally grossed him out. 12. We called it quits at 11:43am, having spent more time waiting than enjoying our meal. 13. We LOVE this place! We are new to the area and the First Watch at 23685 SR54 is our first great find. The breakfasts are awesome (pork green chili hash, barbacoa burritos, to die for million dollar bacon, etc.) and the salads are amazing. Service is great (our favorite server Kory takes great care of us). And did I mention the array of breakfast cocktails?!?! They can be ordered without alcohol for a healthier (if less fun) option. I am absolutely baffled why this place is popular. They have long waits... weird food that lacks in flavor or consistency. It is supposed to be a breakfast place, but go there and try and get eggs grits, and sausage. They instead offer whipped egg whites, tofu cream and a plant based meat alternative. Went here for Mother's Day brunch and it was awful. Had gone ahead and done the online check-in and it said a 30-45 minute wait, which was fine. I expected it. When we arrived and checked-in, we were again told it was a 30-45 minute wait. Okay, it's Mother's Day and it's busy. At 45 minutes, I go in to see how much longer it will be. They are cleaning off a table. So, we're seated about 10:15. The waitress comes and gets our drink order. We wait for our drinks and decide what we want to eat. We get our drinks and place our order and from that point on are ignored by the waitress. After 45 minutes, she informs the table behind us that the kitchen is backed up and food will be out soon. As an after thought, she tells us the same. Within 5 minutes, their food was out. Mind you, they were seated after we were. 45 minutes later, we flag the waitress down and ask for our food to go because we have been waiting 1.5 hours for food. It's almost noon. Within 5 minutes, we have our food. We leave and it takes less than 10 minutes to get home, where we discover our food is STONE COLD. I couldn't even eat any of mine. This was the worst experience ever. I will NOT be returning to this location. It was an awful experience on Mother's Day no less. read more

My wife and I used to come here alot, PRE-VID. We decided to go for brunch today and we were both excited because we used to really like the place. So to start, the restaurant was not very busy, but they were seating all the guests as close to one another as possible. They did ask us if the table was ok and we agreed it was, its just odd that they would not take advantage of the space and spread people out a bit? I ordered Chickichanga and it was great! My wife ordered a skillit hash and initially, after just one bite, she told the server it was good. But then as she got into it she found it was missing the goat cheese, and the potatoes were burnt. The waitress, and trainee, did not return or even look our direction so that we could flag them down. When she returned with the bill she went to clear my wifes full plate and just simply commented "are you all finished?". Seems like an odd question to ask of a person with a full plate of food in front of them. When my wife explained what was wrong with the meal the waitress told her she should have flagged her down sooner! We dont really like to argue with servers so we just accepted the meal being taken from the bill, and tried to politely leave. The server pushed on reiterating that she should have flagged her down to which I commented that the chef should have just made it correctly in the first place. Of course we still tipped her 18%. I would never short someone on a tip unless they are very rude, which she was not. I think when things go wrong in a business it is due to training, or lack there of. Its a bummer when you really look forward to a place you havent been in a while and then things fall short. The upside is there are a dozen other breakfast spots nearby that we have not tried yet.
