We went on Father's Day fully prepared, knowing there would be a wait. When we arrived we were told 30 minute wait. We waited patiently and asked once during our wait when we saw 10 empty tables at one point. They said we were 20th on the list! At 5 minutes past our quoted 30 minute wait time we were 12th on the list with 7 open tables. We did not know there was "jump ahead seating" online. Evidently, as quoted by the hostess, when you check in online, it puts you AHEAD of everyone that has been waiting there, no matter how long their wait. The hostess was also notifying groups that were "present" and waiting as she said "4-5 times" but they wouldn't answer when called so she would cross them off the list yet they would show back up 15 minutes after that and she would still seat them. My questions are - why have that "rule" that they are notified so many times (too many times!) and then still seat them when they missed their several notifications ? And - How do you keep accepting people from online check in to bump your waiting patrons? Is there not a limit? No manager in sight- to be fair they could have been on the line cooking but dang, there was no pulse on how the front of the house was operating! Crazy! read more

The most dysfunctional and slow hostess and staff. They told us it would be 20 mins and it's been over and hour. I see about 6 large empty tables that have been sitting empty for the last 15 mins. The front of house staff are standing around aimlessly chatting to each other. It's more like last watch- you will be last in line to eat here and last to start your day due to their ineffectiveness. We went here on a Saturday morning around 11am and had a 30 minute wait, which was no big deal because there was a pet store within walking distance in the plaza, so we took the opportunity to get our dogs some new treats while we waited. We ordered the Mixed Berries Toast to start to share, my husband ordered the chickichanga (spelling may be wrong) and then I ordered a chorizo omelette. The Mixed Berries Toast was both of our favorites, and was only $5. The berries were fresh and the ingredients all complimented each other well. Our main breakfast entrees though just didn't seem like anything special, although the ingredients did taste fresh. The meals just left us with a "take it or leave it" kind of vibe, which is why this is a 3/5 review. We had good service, but it was just an average meal. read more

Our family of 4 (2adults, 2 kids) have been eating here for breakfast, for months now. I originally posted a 5 star review, and nothing has changed what-so-ever about the food! It is always completely delicious every time. I am strictly lowering a star because of hostess seating. This restaurant has a tendency to become busy, especially on sundays. The wait can become extensive and a crowd will be hanging out. 2 times now, a family coming is AFTER mine has gotten seated before us, strictly because they wanted to complain about the wait. The first time this happened, they apologized and so did the family. They looked at us and said sorry because they knew they were being seated before us due to their complaint. The second time this happened, there was an even bigger crowd. A family came in 20 min after we had already been waiting. They were standing next to us for about another 10 min (we were told a 30 min wait). They said to the hostess, "I need to speak to a manager, this is ridiculous". Instead of speaking to a manager, they were offered the next table....I guess they didn't need to speak to a manager. I understand, customer service is rough, but we are all paying guests. We waited another 20 min (total of 50) for another table. First Watch is, hands-down, our favorite place for breakfast. I hate to even take away a star because I truly do love this place and will always come here. But please, someone speak to the hostess' about this. It is not right. Well, there's a reason why I don't go to chain restaurants for breakfast and this is a perfect example. We went in on Sunday morning and they said about 30 minute wait time which is about average pretty good for a Sunday morning breakfast. As I'm noticing there is tables outside the people are just sitting at not being served. I guess they're waiting to go inside for service. 10 to 15 minutes goes by and I see a couple walk up after they park their car, and within two minutes I sat down outside five minutes later which is now 20 minutes into our wait time. I ask my wife if they bother to ask if we wanted to sit inside or outside or inside? she said no then five minutes later somebody walks out to us and asked if we prefer to sit outside or inside after they had already seated people that just walked up. I didn't even sit at any of the tables because I was being respectful, thinking that that's where they would serve people their meals on the tables outside. Customer service sux, won't be back. This is the first watch on Citadel way, but I'm sure they are all like that. read more

We waited for 20 minutes for a table outside. While waiting, we watched a table enjoy their breakfast with a dog in their lap. Another lady also patiently waited for her table, with a dog present. When we were called, we sat down outside with our French bulldog puppy. She sat sweetly in our lap, similar to the other families dog in their lap. Our server came out and told us the dog had to be on the ground, that it was the law. I pointed out the other dogs and was instructed wouldn't be able to do it. We ended up leaving, going next door (NEXT DOOR) and sat outside, with our puppy in our lap at another restaurant. Extremely disappointed in this establishment and the rules that they are making up as they go. It's not the law, it's a restaurant rule, which is absolutely fine....however, the rule should be for all not for one. Service is friendly and attentive and I like that they have different menu options, but also the regulars, to choose from. The lemon ricotta pancakes are delicious. A little upset when we went in this morning for brunch and we were turned away because we had our dog with us. We love going to First Watch because they are known to be dog friendly. We've gone to this location and others with our dog in the past and were never told anything. They even usually bring a water bowl for him! Wowowowo, what a disappointment was this place. I've been to multiples locations of First Watch and I have always had an amazing experience, well this location was definitely not like the others. Last Saturday, the wife and I were visiting our family in the Viera area and we looked for a nice, fresh and new place to take out my mom and dad for lunch so we decided to go to Fist Watch. We arrived, put our names on the list(there was a minimal waiting list of 10 min which was fine) we were assigned to our tables and everything went downhill from there. The waitress had very bad attitude, my dad asked her a few questions to what she responded to basics "yes" or "no, we don't make that here", she brought out our drinks and never saw her again. I asked for more drinks to a food runner a couple times which I know that wasn't her job, but to ignore our request that's quite rude. Food wise, and compared to other locations, their food was tasteless and we weren't impressed with anything, we actually didn't even finished our meals. It is a shame that such a good chain have such a bad representation in a new market. We are in town for baseball and stopped by for brunch, there was no wait for a table, the restaurant is clean, it's just what we were looking for. The server was pleasant and very quick. I've been to a couple different First Watch restaurants around Florida, but this one is the best. Every time I've gone, they've been popping, but I've never had to wait. They leave the coffee at your table so you don't need to rely on anyone for your second cup of pick-me-up. They have dairy-free creamer as well, nice touch. Having said that, the food is prepared to order, the wait staff is nice, there is free coffee and water while you wait to be seated. The food is fantastic. I was excited to learn that Melbourne now has a First Watch. In Tampa we used to go to First Watch all the time for breakfast so when I learned about the new location in Melbourne, I had to bring my grandmother. In the past I would always order the chocolate chip pancake (can you say delicious), but this time I decided to branch out and ordered the French toast. I was surprised to see the size of the 2 slices of French toast made on brioche bread. The French toast was hands down the best French toast I've had at a restaurant. The bread was fluffy and had just the perfect amount of cinnamon powder on top. For the price however, I wish it would include a side of bacon or eggs. If you have not been to First Watch, I recommend you stop by and give them a try. Next time I come, I will be trying there lunch menu! read more

Came for brunch and sat outside, we loved it! I got the the works omelet but swapped for egg whites and a side salad to make it healthier. They had so many delicious and healthy options which is so hard to find for brunch! No alcoholic beverages, but they have really great juice drinks and cold brew.
