Located near a pond. Lovely rainy morning. I was promptly seated. Great availability at 9am! Wow. Friendly service & lots of staff. Good service. Coffee pitcher on the table. They had matcha pancakes! I wanted it but there were too many delightfully enticing options. I chose a healthy omelette with mushrooms and salad. It came with heavenly whole grain bread. Delicious. The hubby and I had breakfast here today. I'm pretty sure this was our first "sit down at a restaurant" meal since COVID started. The server was very nice, but you could tell the staff was overwhelmed and the food took awhile. When it finally did come, it was very good. I had the "Elevated Egg Sandwich" and my husband had the avocado toast. I didn't really care for the side of sausage gravy I ordered, it was both peppery and bland at the same time. They have lots of fun new drinks- juices and alcoholic beverages- that we will have to try next time. I will say that they are due for a small remodel. The bathrooms are looking rough, as well as the moldy ceiling tiles. It's an older building. The view of the lake is fantastic though, very peaceful. This place was awesome! The service was fast and friendly and the food was delicious! The bathrooms were clean and the women's had a baby changing station. Unfortunately, the men's did not but it's rare to find one in a men's bathroom for some reason. I had the Elote Potato Hash and the Watermelon Wake Up. It was so flavorful! My husband had the Cinnamon Toast Cereal Milk and the Biscuit and Turkey Sausage with Gravy and a side of cheese grits. He said it was all really good. We will definitely be returning! read more

I've always loved the First Watch food and never had bad experience until today. Usually we visited Bee Ridge location, but today we decided to go to Tamiami location across Rt 41 from Sprouts . The place was almost empty, we sat outside on a nice patio overlooking the lake( that's the only nice thing that happened)... we ordered mimosas and placed an order for the food. Mimosas arrived immediately, but our food order was never sent to the kitchen. After 40 minutes waiting my husband went inside to ask about our order and irritated waitress Cathrine came to us ready to... take an order!!! She thought we never ordered our food, than she blamed computer glitch... but of course... After bringing our food, she never apologized or checked if we need anything. When leaving the place we walked through the restaurant and heard her arguing very loud with another customer. Perhaps she was involved in multiple incidents and was too busy to check on us. It was very unfortunate that she ruined our anniversary brunch and the good vibes of First Watch. Sorry... we won't be back, not to this location! read more

We have been coming to this location for many years. That is why we decided to come here for our son's baptism brunch. There is a small room off to the side of the main restaurant which seats about 30 guests. It was absolutely perfect! We were able to come in the day before and set up some decorations, they were so accommodating to our party! When we arrived the day of our celebration we had such amazing service, I feel awful as I do not remember our server's name! She was fantastic! Our food came out so quickly and everything was delicious! We let our guests order off of a limited menu of four entrees, Floridian French toast, chicken chimichanga, avocado toast and elevated egg sandwich. Everything came out fast and cooked perfectly, our guests were extremely happy!! This place is absolutely amazing! I came here for brunch and it was one of the best brunch places I've ever been. It is a very busy place so we had to wait 30 min, but the wait was 100% worth it. I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes, amazing doesn't even begin to explain how tasty this meal was. Two fluffy huge pancakes, the batter had the ricotta mixed in. Topped with lemon custard and strawberries. Just unreal. The service was so friendly, our waitress was so sweet and kind. No longer, a single pancake for $5.19 is not an oversized pancake even for a lighter eater such as myself. You don't need much more then to have things deep cleaned! They say check a restaurant's restrooms first, they're an indication of the kitchen. This was a scary indication! Came here on our last day in Sarasota after a nice 5 day vacation. We were on our way to the airport and stopped in for my fiances dad's birthday breakfast. The place was packed!! But we were still able to get a table after a 10 minute wait so it really wasn't too bad. The food was really good: of the three dishes I tried I was fully impressed by two of them. So the two things that were great was the avocado toast, omg sooo good. Simple I suppose but nice bread and a heaping serving of avocados salted JUst right. And the lemon ricotta blueberry Quinoa pancakes. And anyone who knows me knows I'm not a pancake person but these were soooo good! The fiancé ordered the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and we both thought the salmon was a bit too smokey. Oh I almost forgot both drinks we ordered were also really good! So sad to see a restaurant go downhill. First watch was one of our favorites pre-pandemic. Just returned to find a poorly managed mess! After being lectured by the manager because we came in the "wrong" door, we were totally ignored. A cluster of waitresses stood at the reception area and not one came to take our order! We used to visit this restaurant frequently and often brought guests. We left after 15 minutes of being ignored! We, of course, will never return and would discourage anyone from going there.
