She's technically my step daughter(4 years), l've raised her since she was a baby. She's my baby just as any other of my babies. Me, my husband (dad), and kids came to support and to see our daughter before and after she went into surgery. ALL the parents should be able to be in the room after surgery as well. I seen the signs saying only 2 visitors, they still let all of us in, we were able to be in the room before hand and nothing was said to us. We already had a long day before hand, had 3, maybe 4 hrs of sleep, drove 2 hrs to be with her and I can't even get 2min of seeing how she's doing myself before the nurse was shutting the curtain literally in my face as I was talking to my husband from OUTSIDE of the room! With the attitude she had with it because I wanted to see my own kid for at least 10min. Before heading outside to wait for my husband because we had to leave promptly. I was not doing any damage but taking up a little room, on the OUTSIDE of the room. She was completely calm after surgery as well. No issues.

Everyone I dealt with was amazing!! Preop, Dr. Winham and his surgical staff and post op recovery team all treated me great. The problem comes in when dealing with the business office And patient billing. The day before each surgery they called telling me what my portion of the bill would be based on their "formula" and they said if I would pay upfront I could save 15% so I paid my copay in full both times. Now that insurance has been filed and paid their portion it shows that I have an overpayment of over $3400 between the 2 surgeries. I've spent 5 weeks calling GPRMC weekly to see when I am getting my refund but am still waiting on it. This is a substantial amount of money that they owe me and I shouldn't have to wait any longer. Not sure I'll ever have surgery at GPRMC again due to this.
