We spent many years in London dining, but we paid London prices but did not receive London food or servings to reflect the price. What did not help the venue was the ambiance. While dinner had a great atmosphere, lunch was depressing. Empty quiet and dead light upstairs. There were lots of staff on, however only one could speak enough English to actually tell us about the menu or hold a conversation. Just to ask questions of the menu was an ordeal. Initially put off by the expensive Clifton price tag, I now can't believe I've stayed away for so long. (Or at least not noticed that they do a lunchtime offer!) At Rockfish they are serious about fresh fish cooked to perfection. When I opted for the lunchtime special we picked two courses for £15 which were absolutely delicious. (My favourite being their house special of grilled seabass). If you have any questions about any of the dishes, the helpful waiters will be happy to answer your questions as they are very knowledgeable about the produce on sale here. Can't wait to go back!

"So fresh" she sad. I avoided the fish as I'm not a massive lover of it and mainly just stuck to my delightful cider. The setting for this place really is beautiful and as the sun shined down upon us I couldn't think of too many places I'd rather of been (Probably the beach if my thoughts weren't hindered by the cider)

I wasn't so keen on the whole queueing up to order the food but thats just a little niggle. Food wasn't outstanding but it was better than average pub food and I loved that we could eat our meal and then go and enjoy a drink in the back garden while we digested the meal. The fish choice is great and not to be missed. I also really like the farmers market they run next door where we went to get some bits and pieces to try and recreate another masterpiece at home.

Apparently it's quite a well known one as our lovely B&B hosts in Llandovery had recommended we come here after seeing the dolphins and we are happy to have followed his advice. The menu isn't huge but the selling point here is fresh seafood and prepared to honour their natural taste. My scampi loving boyfriend ordered the scampi meal and I had the very fresh (caught the same morning we were told but not the one we saw on our dolphin boating trip) New Quay European Lobster linguine and it was incredibly satisfactory. The lobster meat was sweet, bursting with lobster flavour and it was the perfect pasta dish and spicy even - a slight surprise given that my boyfriend told me that we would not find good food in Wales. I could have easily had a second serving of that tasty dish. Scampi was very good but Lobster and in Summer, Mackerel are the seafood choices to go for. On a gloomy rainy day, the delicious food can be enjoyed in their cozy and beautiful pub or on a sunny glorious day, if you're early enough, you can have your meal while overlooking the bay of New Quay which is a treat. At sunset it could easily be very romantic and for a very reasonable price.

While they are known for their seafood, if you are not a fan of seafood there are options for you as well! We were late for our reservation, but they still sat us. Out of the three it was the best and I had wished I had just ordered the bread pudding! The staff were very attentive and very patient with us... there was quite a bit of wine and bubbly flowing, so you can imagine that our table may have been a handful for them, but they handled it very well! I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere (no, not just because of the wine and champagne...) and hope to go back and try some of the other dishes... and of course have more of that bread pudding!
