Salmon, coleslaw, tartar sauce (motor oil) and lemon wedges
    Suavelita C.

I'm beginning to lose my faith in good places to eat. This place used to be so good but, maybe it's what I ordered, or didn't order. As I was browsing the menu a customer was picking up 3 clam chowders. So, I thought and had a taste for creamy clam chowder. Excitedly I order. I get the salmon plate. Trying to eat healthier I opted for coleslaw instead of fries. I originally ordered a clam chowder on the side but the cashier said you can get it as one of your sides. Alright cool. I can't wait to get home. I have it planned out. I'm gonna eat the creamy clam chowder first and then the salmon and slaw a little bit later. I opened the bag to this tiny container and the soup in a brown paper bag. I opened the brown paper bag salivating thinking I'm about to have some delicious CREAMY CLAM CHOWDER. Only to find a tomato base looking soup with fish, vegetables and grease. Not again. I call and the guy says it's not New England clam chowder but manhattan clam chowder. I don't remember reading that all I seen was clam chowder. So I could wring in my frustration of not getting what I wanted. So if you're looking for creamy clam chowder you won't get it from here. The tartar sauce tastes like motor oil and the coleslaw is bland and not very tasty. It should actually be free and automatically included with the meal. The fish had no flavor whatsoever. You get a decent sized piece of fish. Will I ever go back...heck no! I should have just went to get an oxtail plate from Boukas for the same $30 I spent on this disappointing meal. And the center of the salmon was not cooked all the way.

    GRILLED FISH TACO PLATE *

I had the fish taco plate. The taco were excellent; very fresh fish with French fries than we could eat over a week. Wife has fish burger; she said it was delicious. Mother had fish and chips. The crust was hard for her to chew, but otherwise loved it main criticism: table top was sticky.

The service is great and upon walking in we were greeted immediately. Our server was nice and had a bunch of recommendations which made it slightly harder for us to decide what to get hahah. We decided to get the most popular dishes which makes this place recognized! We started with the gem Caesar salad which was great! It's like a spicy Caesar salad and it was not dry at all - very well seasoned and sauced. We then got the spicy fusilli which is the must have pasta that I hear people rave out. It was yummy!! Not too spicy but the flavor is solid and pasta is perfectly a la dente. We then ordered the mushroom pizza which again was good! Nothing out of this world but it was enjoyable. Our server asked if we wanted, parm, chili oil and a side of ranch and couldn't resist. We got all 3 and I would highly recommend. The chili oil is delicious and elevates the pizza. The only reason I'm taking a star off the rating is the price of the food. I find it extremely expensive for pasta and pizza. The salad was ~$18 and the pasta was ~$24. I would understand it more if the portions were bigger but they are on the smaller side. Despite the price of the food, everything was good! They have some coloring sheets which is a cute way to pass time while waiting for your food and great music in the restaurant which made it fun and casual. I would come back but not sure how often.

I politely showed her my reservation which clearly said Dining Room (why even give customers the option if you're not going to seat them properly?) and she acted annoyed/put out. We had to wait an additional 25+ minutes for a table that we had reserved from the start. Finally around 9PM we are seated-- quickly we order two pastas and a pizza. We're told by the server that everything comes out once it's ready and I'm not exaggerating maybe 1-2 minutes later our pastas arrive at the table. A little strange, but whatever. We eat, enjoy the kind-of cold pasta (I believe this was a mess-up order or another table's, hence the speed and lack of warmth) and wait for our pizza. 20 minutes go by.... we finish our pasta. Still no pizza. We'd ordered a very simple white pizza. All around us other tables were getting their pizzas even though they ordered after us. I asked the server (who barely came to check on us throughout) what was going on and thrice she promised it was 'coming out of the oven.' They'd clearly forgotten our pizza, and I just wish they'd have been honest about that. Around 9:30PM, an HOUR after our reservation, we finally get the pizza. By this point I'm honestly ready to go-- especially because next to us are people who were sat and served INSTANTLY apparently because they know someone who works there. As an apology our server offered us free soft serve. While a nice gesture, the soft serve was given to us in the shittiest paper cups and it made a complete mess. We were not offered a price reduction or anything else, and didn't get out until after 10PM. This was the worst dining experience I've had in LA for years. Maybe ever. I kept trying to give the place the benefit of the doubt, but at every turn this was disappointing. The food is NOWHERE NEAR worth the annoyance you'll feel just getting through the reservation.

Food: My friend and I ordered the Cheese and Truffle tasting menu. I have been eating at various Uovo locations, and this was my first time here at this location. I'm a massive sucker for authentic Italian food after visiting Italy back in 2023. This restaurant chain just hits the spot every time. I love how their noodles are flown in from Italy every day. Just an FYI, all pastas were cooked al dente, which was perfect. My friend and I both ordered a glass of white wine. The Pinot Grigio paired very well with the meal. It was light, crisp, and refreshing with notes of pear, apple, and citrus. To start off with, we received a plate of yellowtail crudo. This is an elegant, Japanese-Italian fusion appetizer featuring thinly sliced delicate and buttery soft raw yellowtail in a vibrant citrus and soy dressing. Next, we received the tagliatelle in truffle sauce. I'm a MASSIVE sucker for all things truffle related. I'm just sad that it wasn't truffle season, so we didn't get any real truffle shavings on this dish. Booooo! Jk. Despite not being in truffle season, this dish was top notch. This is a luxurious, rich, silky, mouth watering, and deeply earthy Italian pasta dish. The sauce combines quality heavy cream, freshly grated Parmesan, and black truffle oil. Hands down my favorite dish here at Uovo. Moreover, we next received our pomodoro dish. The dish is exceptionally delicious, which a bright, high-quality tomato sauce. A classic Italian dish that you can't go wrong with ordering. To add on, we then got the classic carbonara. With crispy pork, a velvety and smooth sauce, and a punch of black pepper, this carbonara pasta was a rich, creamy, and a belly satisfying dish. Lastly, we ended our night sharing a tiramisu. It is served in a glass and featuring silky mascarpone, espresso, and a unique hazelnut twist. The portion is designed to be shared in a single cup. A perfect way to end a 10/10 meal. Staff: Karl and Ronaldo are both very attentive, kind, friendly, and helpful. They accept credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.

I also must emphasize that the service at this location is impeccable! The servers and chef were all super kind to seat us so late and still give us such delicious food. They even said they could prep the tasting menu for us, but we didn't want to make them go through a 45-minute service at the end of the night. That being said, some highlights of things I've had are their meatball sub that was 1000% better than anything you'd get from Subway. I've also tried the pastrami sandwich and loved it. I absolutely love the Grappa di Mattina with Fresh-Cracked Eggs, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Fresh Tomato, Avocado, Arugula and Aioli on Sourdough Toast! The only thing that was disappointing was the bread got very soggy and the sandwich kind of fell apart when eating it. So eat all their sandwiches asap after ordering, preferably when still in the shop. Their chocolate chip cookies are a great deal at 4 for $6.50 and are solid 4 star cookies. They also have a mini market inside with a ton of wine and other liquor options, a gelato stand with a lot of options or you can grab prepacked pints, so many gorgeous desserts done beautifully.
