They are also helpful as you pick out frames and even let me take photos in glasses that are really wild for me to scare my wife with. Dr. Unterbrink is a great doctor. He really takes time to make sure the testing being done is thorough and answers any questions you have. He is also really funny and it makes the visit really pleasant. The…read morepaperwork they asked me to fill out and sign included a statement confirming I had been offered a copy of the privacy policy, which I hadn't, so I didn't sign it. I waited over 30 minutes in an empty waiting room with a too-loud TV crackling annoyingly before I was called back, at which time the staff member I interacted with asked me to sign the form. I noted that I hadn't been provided with the privacy policy, and she tried to argue with me briefly before agreeing to find me a copy of the policy (so more waiting). This was the only part of the several pages of paperwork she even glanced at before proceeding to ask me all the same medical-history questions I had filled out on paper so she could enter them into her tablet. She also mentioned that she couldn't find some of the tools she needed for the exam. Most disturbing at this point was that she was visibly ill, hoarse and sniffling with a red nose, which she blew into a tissue in front of me---and then didn't bother washing her hands afterward. I was then moved around again and waited longer in both another waiting room and an exam room. The doctor, who didn't wash her hands when she entered the exam room, without warning or consent TOUCHED MY FACE WITH HER BARE HANDS. I chose my frames quickly and waited again for a curt optician to complete the process. In the end, I was ushered around this office for nearly two hours, although my exam was a simple one with no complications. Most importantly, I was completely appalled by the lack of cleanliness in this office. The countertop surfaces, floors, and eyeglass frame samples were visibly dirty and disheveled, and the staff demonstrated a lack of hygiene and patient safety that was particularly horrifying.
