Ok I recently moved into the Menifee area and was looking for a place to get fried fish and finally decided to give them a try. My clerk was Jayden, who seemed nice but really struggled to take my order. The order. 10 pc shrimp, 1lb of Red Snapper, Oyster shrimp combo, Lrg Cole Slaw, fried Zucchini, small grits and Lrg order of fries. I was advised for shrimp there were regular and jumbo. I requested the jumbo and was told there was a $4.00 " uncharge ". Looking at the menu this was not advertised. The menu is quite large with many choices and it very very confusing. I asked why wasn't this on your very large, very detailed menu? Her answer was, " oh sorry " The combo comes with 2 sides, which were grits and fried Zucchini. I later discovered I was charged for one of my sides. So Oyster Shrimp combo $19.65, $4.14 upcharge for the jumbo shrimp, $2.00 for the Zucchini , a total of $25.79. The Red Snapper 1 lb fried. The amount was good, and it wasn't bad at all, but woefully undercooked. I found the shrimp to be not good at all. On the first bite all of the coating just slid off and what was left was soggy. If I had any say so I'd tell them STOP selling that coleslaw! It is made from lettuce, it is dry, has no dressing and to be completely honest is just plain nasty. The fries are crinkle cut, obviously frozen, and were cold and soggy! The young lady at the counter asked me if I wanted sauces? Of course I said yes. She gave me a bag of those small individual containers. Problem is she NEVER EVER told me that the sauces were self serve, let alone showed me were they were located. I was not offered utensils. As to the deserts, they were crammed in a cabinet next to the cash register, and looked very unappealing! I spent $70.25 and after consideration, I will not be returning and WOULD NOT recommend this place! read more

The fish was fine and yams is okay. I have had a bad experience with the collar greens the 2 visits I purchased them and 3 times that I ordered them online. Collard greens are a southern food and if you sell them people expect them to favor southern seasoning with some type of smoke meat; turkey, pork or beef and sauteed onion/garlic with other spice. Not stirred fried, bitter and no vinegar or less vinegar. To get the bitterness out of them use sugar or honey. Yams can use more favor also. Look up southern cooking if you going to sell southern food. read more

I ordered takeout. The inside of the place is clean, with a few tables, but there are more outside. The girl at the counter was courteous and said the food would take 20 minutes, although it was really done in 10. I got the fried red snapper dinner, $19.49. Four large, crispy, well seasoned pieces of snapper were delicious, and not greasy at all. 2 sides were red beans and rice (heavy on the bean side with pieces of bell pepper and hot link) that was a bit on the hot side, and collard greens (also with a some heat, but no pieces of bacon or ham hocks). Sides were good, but might be too hot for some people, so they should leave the amount of heat to the customer ( that's what the Louisiana hot sauce bottle is for). Dinner also came with 2 hush puppies (ok, but no green onion in it), and a plain dinner roll ( why not corn bread?). Overall, almost as good as Matt's Fish Market in Compton, or the Red Anchor in MoVal, two places I frequented but tried to stay away from for fear of gaining weight. Best fish fry in the area! Food takes a while to come out because they make it all fresh (only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5) but it's worth the wait! Delicious Red Snapper and shrimp!!! The portion was huge, and they have the best tartar sauce!!! The roll was soft and yummy, the hush puppies were good, and considering I'm not a hush puppies fan, I ate them both. I skipped the red and green peppers and had only sautéed onions. They did everything as I ordered it. The grits were good and so was the potato salad. The last time I was here, I had their fried oysters and they were off the chart. Pricey for the amount of food you get & the fact that it's basically like fast food & not a sit-down restaurant. Plus it's pricey for food that is not fresh. Fish was cold, stale , and dry. It tasted as though it had been prepared hours earlier- even possibly the day before & then put in some kind of heater or under heat lamps, same with the 2 measly hush puppies thrown in with the meal. The food was not even warm let alone hot!!! The consensus of our group of 4 is that the cole slaw was fair to good, the mac 'n' cheese mediocre. The candied yams were the only thing we all agreed was delicious! The fish & hush puppies were terrible. And the rolls!!!??? One expects a homemade biscuit in a Cajun-soul food type of eatery. Theirs were packaged Hawaiian rolls one can buy in the grocery store! And...No fountain drinks! We had to purchase a bottled drink which costs much more!!! I thought this place was going to be similar to Sharon's in Murrieta, where the food is fresh and absolutely delicious!!! I will not eat here again. I was excited to try this place. Love fish and love southern cooking. I guess I have mixed reviews. The quality and the flavor of both the catfish and the snapper were on point.... But it had to be the oiliest grilled fish I have ever had. We had to use more than a dozen napkins to absorb the grease and get to the fish. If you stay in the correct lane they have some good stuff, stick with the fried catfish, mac and cheese, fries, hushpuppies. The grilled salmon was DRY as bone, shrimp had weird texture and a bit chewy. No cup of water available, very little service or personality amongst the staff, no management presence, food takes to long to come out whether they are busy or not. If you must have fried southern food you can accomplish that but don't expect to much of an experience. read more

Fish bone you're too new to be slipping on quality. My wife and I order a snapper, oyster, hush puppies &greens combo and oyster, hush puppies, fries, & coleslaw combo. The snapper was dry & over cooked and the fries, hush puppies were overcooked and seem to be cooked in old grease. The last three times eating here you were on point, not today. Fish bone is now one our favorite take out spots. We've been here a few times and I can say the fish is flavorful with the perfect texture. The only only suggestion I have is to provide customers who order by phone with sauce or just simply remind them there is sauce available, other than than ordering is easy and customer service is great. read more

Let me start by saying I have been patiently waiting for this restaurant to open with enthusiasm. My families are one side from Baton Rouge and the other from Birmingham. I know southern food and I was really hoping fishbone would take me home. Not the case! I had the Cajun catfish and fried shrimp meal. First I'll start with the 2" worm looking thing I pulled from inside the middle of my catfish. Fairly confident it wasn't a worm of any sort I still watched it for a few minutes to make sure it didn't move lol. Only other option is it was already dead or it's the fish's intestinal track. Yuk thanks for that little jewel. Please see pictures. So there's that! Now the food. The Cajun catfish was well cooked breading was perfectly fried but the fish and breading were both under seasoned. Hardly any hint of Cajun flavor or spices, other than black pepper. The fried shrimp although lacking any sort of flavor other than corn meal was cooked very well. But obviously now I'm questioning just how well they were cleaned. Mac n cheese was unappealing to the eye but the first bite was clearly Mac n CHEESE! Plenty of delicious cheese but again it was under seasoned. And I'm not a sodium addict but it needed salt and pepper. Red beans and rice is hard to mess up but they seem to have managed by adding to much Louisiana hot sauce. Essentially the red hot sauce they serve inside the restaurant. That's my guess as to the foreign agent in their recipe. Maybe they just want it to be their own flavor. I get that, was just hoping for authentic. And it wasn't about it being hot more the vinegar flavor over powering the true Cajun creole flavor of red beans and rice. I mean I hate to say it but Popeyes red beans and rice truly tastes more authentic. How can that be lol. Anyway The hush puppies were dead on the money. Tasted like my grandma cooked them herself. Before the worm lol I was mildly disappointed but still thought it would be a great place to bring my mom when she's in town. Yeah that's not happening now lol. The customer service experience was outstanding and the food is the bomb.com. My family enjoyed the food and loved every bite of it.

My wife and I decided to eat here for lunch on January 31 2023. Found out it was there grand opening. We arrived just prior to all the city dignitaries showed up so we were able to order right away. The young lady who took our orders was very friendly and knowledgeable. I ordered the lunch cat fish filet with fries. My wife had the lunch Talipia also with fries. Both orders came with hush puppies. I also ordered a peach cobbler for desert. Both orders of fish came out perfect. Nice and hot. Great flavor. The fries weren't as hot but still very good. The hush puppies were also delicious. The peach cobbler was very good and I only wish it would have been a little larger portion. I plan on going back soon to try something different and I hope it will be as delicious as my first visit. If you like fish, please try this new restaurant.
